My parents and I have been doing it over the past few months. We boil coffee to do enema with enema buckets that we have already. The reason I started doing it is because of constant fatigue, always feeling tired and of course, my bowel movements are not so constant. After the first time doing, I felt some improvement. After each time I do enema I feel better and better. Until the last few times I did I start to have this pain I mentioned, which worries me.
Can pulps be detected with this B. Enema and if found how will they be removed? Will this B. Enema replace the colonoscopy in my future screenings? If no pulps were found up to the hepatic flexture, why do I need to proceed with this recommendation of the P. Enema?

Ugh!!! The joys of pregnancy :/ I am not a coffee drinker, so when I get constipated I drink coffee and it usually does the trick. Also, watch what you're eating. Don't want to be eating too much cheese...

It sounds as though the doc wants to perform a barium enema which is basically a special x-ray of the large intestine (colon and rectum) to look for structural featues and look for any changes/abnormalities. Before x-rays are taken, a liquid called barium sulfate is placed into the rectal area. This provides a 'contrast agent' that can highlight specific areas inside the body for a clear image.
Did you talk to the Dr about a enema talk to him see if it OK, give him a call did you could also ask him about taking mom (milk of magnesium) if he say it is OK to use and they do not work then you you need to see him something more serious can be going on a ct scan or other test will need to be done it could be a blockage or you are really backed up.
barium enema is like an x-ray inside ur colon. it is unpleasant procedure where they pump enema into your colon and then take pictures. takes about 10 minutes but often it hurts. however it pays off because that is where ur problem could be.
Barium swallow is also an x-ray but not abdominal. It is also called upper gi series and when u swallow the barium they check for ur esophagus, stomach and small intestines.

You can take medimucal but you might want to try a long walk, more fluids, a cup of coffee or most helpful might be changing your diet to more fiberous foods and cutting back on binding foods.
A good cup of dark roast coffee always helps me. And don't feel weird asking those kids of questions here...luckily were all in the same boat and many of us have experienced constipation at one point or another during pregnancy...along will all the other gross stuff lol. Try coffee hopefully it helps. I know when I get constipated in get horrible pains in my belly so I will do anything to get things moving. Keep fruits in your diet to help keep it at a minimum. Why is there no uniformity in preparation procedures?
( ive also tried strong coffee,papya,honey and lemon hot water, prunes but couldnt keep them down made me sick.. idk what else to do ...
constipation is common but have you tried a cup of coffee or pieces of chocolate? I know it's caffeine but it helps my metabolism when I am really hurting!
You could drink coffee, prune juice or apple juice to help loosen it up. Best thing to do is go buy a fiber mix & it'll help you go. If you're that backed up though I would recommend getting some medical attention before it becomes dangerous for you and baby.
Do patients often wake up during the procedure? And is a tortous colon something I should worry about? I have not had much constipation but have had some episodes of IBS. I have not had surgeries on my abs so I'm not sure why mine is such a mess.
