Common Questions and Answers about Coffee effects memory

coffee

Avatar m tn It depends, how much makes a big difference. One or two cups late morning and afternoon has many benefits but not every day. Coffee is like a buggy whip, it can be overdone. It must be black. It is much different when you add cream and sugar. Some coffee is more like a milk shake with a little coffee flavor. If you don't like it black, you really don't like coffee.
Avatar n tn i recently gave up coffee, because it was triggering my anxiety symptoms, but the problem is that coffee always helped me to study, to concentrate on what i was reading, and to improve my memory. i tried to study the other day and it seemed hard to concentrate, but i don't want to drink it anymore in case it makes me anxious again. so basically, my question is - is there any other decaffeinated beverage that you know of that can help you concentrate, like a kind of tea or something?

1063764 tn?1272821064 Yes, being hypo can cause memory issues and neck pain.........I don't know what you are referring to as "the smallest dose" -- I guess that would probably only be about 12.5 mcg?? It would be very helpful if you could post your lab results. It sounds like you should have antibody testing to see if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune disease and is the main cause of hypothyroidism.

Avatar f tn Ginseng, Fish, Berries, or Caffeine? Listen to the buzz about foods and dietary supplements and you'll believe they can do everything from sharpen focus and concentration, to enhance memory, attention span, and brain function. But do they really work? There's no denying that as we age chronologically, our body ages right along with us. The good news is that you can increase your chances of maintaining a healthy brain -- if you add "smart" foods and beverages to your diet.
Avatar f tn He seems to really be trying but I have noticed his memory just does not seem right. Could this be an after effect? If so , is there a doctor we could take him to for help? I would appreciate any feedback.
Avatar m tn confusion, feeling disconnected from reality, feeling weak, paranoia, feeling tired, loss of appetite, blurred vision, and shortness of breath. These after-effects vary in duration depending on the intensity, and duration, of the episode that it follows. These episodes flare up from time to time, happening multiple times a day, before subsiding where I can go months before experiencing one.

Avatar n tn I've been on a couple of different SSRI's Paxil(generic) and now on Prozaz. I have noticed that my memory doesn't seem to be as good as it use to be. I've always attributed to getting older and having a ton more stress in my life. I've done a lot of research on SSRI side effects and have never seen anything documented about memory loss. Getting off of Paxil (if that's what you decide to do) is very difficult.
Avatar m tn I had no head injuries, around 2 years back I noticed more or less sudden loss of memory and general loosing track of almost everything in my life -short term memory was decreased - for a healthy person it feels the same as just being introduced to 5 new people and forgetting their names minute after -recalling things take longer time than it used to be -drop of sex drive a little bit, I can still perform couple of times a day just I can much easier forget about it for a week or month, almost n
Avatar f tn Do any of you have your cup of coffee in the morning still? I'm 4w3d and I just want one cup in the morning. Is it horrible for me?
755829 tn?1246919225 I recommend cutting out all coffee. But if you must drink coffee then yes, I would say that decaff is better than regular coffee. Decaff contains little to no caffeine while regular coffee contains high amounts of caffeine. Caffeine can cause MANY problems. I would name them all but it would take me a very long time. Look at this website for further information on caffeine and the side effects it has. Some you have probably already had and didn't even notice.
Avatar f tn but when I was in my 2nd month I use to only crave for coffee.infact the after effects of coffee was not that good since I wud after many hours get palpitations n panic feeling all over my body.Soon I realised that starbucks serves Decaff and I started drinking one cup of decaff a day for a few months which was perfectly fine and suited me..Also now I dont crave for coffee any more the way I use too.so I would suggest you have a Decaff..
Avatar n tn Atypical antipsychotics can have a lot of side effects. If you think your memory problems are from the seroquel, talk to your doctor about changing your meds around. If they're for schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, you'll need to stay on some sort of antipsychotic, but different ones have different side effect profiles for different people. If it's for bipolar or as an add on for depression, you can switch drug classes entirely, which might work better for you.
Avatar m tn Hello pharmicists, I want to know whether there can be an interaction between Ginkgo biloba and Nescafe coffee (caffeinated). So the question is can ginkgo biloba and caffeine cause anything dangerous or toxic in the body. i do not take any other drugs. please email me soon.
Avatar f tn Last night I cycled to grocery store to buy coffee and some other things. I got home sat by backpack down, puttered around, forgot about the coffee and other items. I remembered and went to put the groceries away. They were not in my backpack. I called the store, and no one had turned anything in (I went to the individual check-out). I left the bag at the store -- or lost it some where else and I can't imagine where. It seems that I'm getting a bit forgetful.
Avatar f tn As I was tearing open the sugar packets for my coffee I started a conversation with him and instead of pouring the sugar into my coffee I poured it into the bowl of eggs. My fiancé asked what the heck I was doing and only then did I notice that I was pouring the sugar into the eggs and not my coffee cup that was right next to the bowl.

479244 tn?1271563659 Substantial research has been devoted to the identification of coffee components that may be responsible for these beneficial effects. Avatar f tn For the record, I swallowed the mercury from a hospital thermometer (with the glass) three decades ago and suffed no ill effects. It broke and the nurse put the remains in an empty coffee cup next to the machine. I put coffee in and "down the hatch". I would avoid tuna because of the mercury, but I would not be overly concerned. It is possible that eating tuna for thirty years did cause some mercury poisoning, but that is water under the bridge.
