Avatar m tn Typically, the normal muscle pains will be gone in a day or two. The more severe side effects can last longer. Are you sure the side effects were from the statin as the listed side effects are very common to many conditions. In studies, just as many on the placebo control group reported side effects as the statin control group, about 1 in 2,221. Let us know.

Real and perceived cardiovascular and other effects of coffee have led many patients to view coffee as “unhealthy.

Avatar m tn Hi everyone - Unless someone can help Pragmatic1, who asked about his specific results, and so far, only a couple have even attempted to do so, please do not post to this thread. He is asking specifically what would cause his specific cholesterol results.. He isn't asking about the effects of it, but what caused it. Already, this has gone off on two different tangents, and he hasn't received a lot of help.
Avatar f tn My cholesterol test results recently came out and my total cholesterol was 299, LDL was 211, HDL 73, Triglyceride 66. My doctor wants to put me on Statin again. I have taken more than a year ago and it brought my numbers down but I had to stop taking it because it gave me terrible muscle pain. I thought at first I was just having an arthritis attack but it got worse and my doctor stopped the Statin.
Avatar f tn Hey there! Congrats, truly, on taking charge of your health. I know it's always something we wish we didn't have to do when we start new medication but better than a coronary event, right? Rosvin F is two drugs in one. The tablet is a combination of Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. As such, it lowers BOTH LDL or and triglycerides (which will bring down your total cholesterol). Exercise or any physical activity is supposed to help with HDL. Also factoring into the ratio.
Avatar f tn They have a low incidence of side effects and are very safe and as research has proven lower cholesterol is linked with a reduction in cardiac events. These are not myths. Also , did you ever wonder why doctors may not report side effects? It is simple, they don't believe there is a connection. Many are too vaque to tie to a statin and most doctors will not report a "maybe".
Avatar f tn I'm already 32 weeks and my hubby is concern that I drink coffee every morning .. I did some research and it says its only dangerous in the beginning. I also read that it takes longer for the caffeine to get out your system .. What can coffee cause your baby to have ? Or any health issues ?

755829 tn?1246919225 I recommend cutting out all coffee. But if you must drink coffee then yes, I would say that decaff is better than regular coffee. Decaff contains little to no caffeine while regular coffee contains high amounts of caffeine. Caffeine can cause MANY problems. I would name them all but it would take me a very long time. Look at this website for further information on caffeine and the side effects it has. Some you have probably already had and didn't even notice.
Avatar f tn There are a lot of mixed medical opinions out there regarding this so you should do what you feel comfortable with both physically and emotionally...caffeine is tough to kick so if you decide to cut it out of your diet do it slowly by switching to a mix of decaf and regular...I personally gave it up while I was prego but I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks...however I quickly went back to my old habit and it is a b**** to kick it again!
Avatar f tn but when I was in my 2nd month I use to only crave for coffee.infact the after effects of coffee was not that good since I wud after many hours get palpitations n panic feeling all over my body.Soon I realised that starbucks serves Decaff and I started drinking one cup of decaff a day for a few months which was perfectly fine and suited me..Also now I dont crave for coffee any more the way I use too.so I would suggest you have a Decaff..
Tbd I am concerned about the side effects of statin drugs v my present health condition- or lack of problems. Why should I risk the dangerous side effects of statin drugs to lower my cholesterol if I do not show signs of a cholesterol problem?
Avatar f tn I have Auto immune hepatitis aswell and primary biliary cirrosis. I was on Azathioprine for two years but when my blood counts went up and I was to take 50mg morning and night, my body did not react well to the drug, so was put on Mercaptopurine.
