Common Questions and Answers about Coffee caffeine withdrawal symptoms

coffee

Avatar f tn A cup of coffee a day OR a couple of caffeinated sodas a day is fine. They recommend keeping consumption under 200mg.
624754 tn?1233297136 Always eat something first because I could feel weak or faint. The caffeine in my coffee has become unhealthy because I have drank coffee for many years. I know that caffeine requires more food as to be absorbed and caffeine as a drug continues to be active and this is my question; How long should it take to withdraw from the caffeine, how many day?
Avatar f tn It certainly sounds like you are, but you will know for sure if you experience these withdrawal symptoms - especially if these occur 12 hours after your last coffee: headache, foggy, depression, irritability, fatigue, decreased alertness If you are trying to quit coffee, these symptoms can last for a full week. You also mentioned that you are adding whipped cream and syrup to your coffees. These can most certainly be additive. Please see my website: Addictionsunplugged.
Avatar f tn In the beginning of my pregnancy i drank a lot of pop cause its all i craved until my cousin yelled at me. It can cause still birth (caffeine) so i completely stopped the caffeine drinking. I only drink sprite & gingerale if i want pop. I hate coffee so thats not a prob for me. Id say try drinking pop with no caffeine. I drank a coke the other day and through it all up.
Avatar f tn I drink soda still not everyday but probably close enough lol and as for coffee I only drink decaf but thats cuz the caffeine upsets my stomach.
Avatar f tn Thank you ladies, I'll try that, def would be better for my baby's health
Avatar f tn I have been off of my Percocets for five days now cold turkey. I was only taking max three a day if that, off and on for a year or so. The only withdrawal symptoms that were really bothering me were stomach symptoms (I have ibs anyway) and mostly the RLS on speed feeling like all over my body. The symptoms are almost totally gone now. I was wondering if caffeine makes anyone else extremely happy now (as well as the energetic) I have never been a huge caffeine drinker to begin with.
Avatar f tn People who regularly consume caffeine may experience withdrawal symptoms after suddenly quitting caffeine. Symptoms of caffeine withdrawal include headache, fatigue, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, and constipation. A 2019 study reported that gradually reducing caffeine consumption over a 6-week period led to successful, long-term caffeine cessation with minimal side effects. So perhaps instead of going abrupt cold turkey, you should attempt a gradual taper.
Avatar f tn The recommendation is no more than 200mg of caffeine in a day, and a regular cup of coffee will not exceed that. If you are uncomfortable with a cup of full caffeine you can always try the half-caf and still get a little pick me up in the morning. I have a cup in the morning and then a cup of decaf if I want another in the afternoon.
Avatar n tn My doctor's office of 5 conservative doctors has a policy of two caffeinated beverages a day. So, I'm guessing a cup of coffee is okay. I cut it out for my first too. I was trying to conceive for a really long time and was doing anything I could to get and stay pregnant. So, did it that time but then started on caffeine again (me? Dr. Pepper was the culprit) and did drink one a day in my second pregnancy. So, I think you are okay with your one cup of coffee and hey, life's hard.
304970 tn?1331425994 My doc said that 2 cups of caffeine (whether is be soda or coffee) is ok. I usually only drink caffenated soda if I go out to eat and try and buy caffeine free soda for when I'm at home. I don't drink coffee but maybe 2 times a week I'll get a tall Caramel Frappucino at Starbucks and I don't even finish it. Everyone else I have talked to that is/was pregnant, said their doctor told them the same (2 cups caffeine a day).
Avatar m tn So,sit down a minute and take mental, verbal, written, audio, whatever notes you want. Make notes of all withdrawal symptoms mentioned by all these confessions, study them, give them all an identity, a face, give them a name. Know that they will come knokin on your door. This way you will not feel alone. We are all going threw it(gone threw it). You are taking something away from your body that it WANTS.It's normal to feel that.
2178416 tn?1337613993 here is no doubt that there are withdrawal symptoms that you can experience. These symptoms include headache, tiredness/fatigue, decreased energy/activeness, decreased alertness/attentiveness, drowsiness/sleepiness, decreased contentedness/well-being, depressed mood, difficulty concentrating, irritability, and felling muzzy/foggy/not clearheaded. The onset of withdrawal symptoms typically begins 12-24 hours after abstinence, with the peak intensity occurring at 20-51 hours.
Avatar n tn My mom kept telling me I should have a little bit of caffeine. About three weeks ago I caved, and went to jack in the box for my coffee. I figured they're so sweet how much caffeine can really be in them lol. Literally I drink maybe half of a small coffee, I've my head for about 30 min, and viola- headache gone! I've done this about 4 times. So, here is my question (and I'll ask my OB), is it risky to introduce caffeine now seeing as how I had zero my whole first trimester?
Avatar m tn I used to LOVE coffee! But since my symptoms started in june I simply have not been able to drink it, or any caffeine for that matter. I still try every once in a while and it really messes me up! Makes me feel l lightheaded. Almost drunk feeling. Anyone else experienced this or know why it could be? Meds dont seem to be any reason for it. It started before I even started treatment. Thanks in advance for any input!
Avatar f tn My doctor actually recommended it because i was getting caffeine withdrawal with super bad migraines. So go ahead momma!
1810204 tn?1316508562 Yet, after 6 months, during an afternoon that I had my usual coffee I had weird symptoms like excitability (my body was shaking for at least 1-1.30 hours), I was getting sick, wanting to throw up and I also had cold sweat. My mother told me that it probably was because of the coffee because she had the same symptoms when she tried it for the first time. But the thing is I wasn't trying it for the first time.
221913 tn?1372276661 I've been on Xanax 1 mg tablets for about 2 years and I've found that my anxiety will start to set in once I get to work unless I take one in the morning when I wake up. I am also a regular coffee drinker and here lately I'm starting to think that the caffeine is counter acting the effects of the Xanax. I get constant headaches thru out the day and when lunch approaches I take another tablet otherwise the anxiety will come back.
Avatar f tn why do I keep hearing people say to cut caffeine during opiate withdrawal? I would think that caffeine would help with energy during the first week or two. Just curious, as I have been trying to FILL UP on caffeine for the last 2 weeks, with coffee and 5 hour energy drinks. Would I be better off without all the caffeine?
7765842 tn?1406963224 I have a medium iced coffee every morning and no other caffeine through the day. If I cut cold turkey, I would get headaches from caffeine withdrawal. There is a limit of about two cups of coffee a day, so I think if it's about that you are fine.
Avatar f tn The only symptoms I'm getting with this pregnancy is sore breasts and being exhausted all the time. I don't think I could cut out caffeine all together on my work days. I work with the elderly...
183202 tn?1219853659 I have been great, yet I am wondering if caffeine can bring on withdrawal-like symptoms since it counterbalances the benzodiazephines?? Yes, I do the same thing: drinking 2% milk with about 30-60% vit. B12 really does the trick. Most healthy energy drinks contain B6 and B12, as these are natural and healthy chemicals/vitamins that help to vitalize you and wake you up in the day. That is why some tea remedies even include B vits in their beverages now.
Avatar f tn I cut coffee back from two cups to one and one-half two days ago, while taking a total of 10 mg. of Buspar a day (for six weeks so far). My nervousness ended immediately, though I had a mild headache from even one-half cup withdrawal of coffee. This morning I took Buspar and did not have any coffee, and Buspar worked much better for me. I still need the coffee, due to other medication, but I don't think that Buspar and coffee at the same time is the way to go.
