Avatar n tn My doctor said one small cup a day or under 200 mg of caffeine per day is fine. However the more I read the worse i feel, like I shouldn't be doing it. Avatar n tn My doctor's office of 5 conservative doctors has a policy of two caffeinated beverages a day. So, I'm guessing a cup of coffee is okay. I cut it out for my first too. I was trying to conceive for a really long time and was doing anything I could to get and stay pregnant. So, did it that time but then started on caffeine again (me? Dr. Pepper was the culprit) and did drink one a day in my second pregnancy. So, I think you are okay with your one cup of coffee and hey, life's hard.
Avatar f tn Sodas tell you in the bottle how much caffeine they have per cup. Its usually between 35 and 50mg per 8oz. Caffeine can lead to several problems because babies system is still too immature to process it effectively and therefore stays in baby about 10 times longer than it stays in you.

Avatar f tn I am currently almost 20 weeks and I have had 1 small cup of coffee per day (less than 8 oz). before I was pregnant I would drink 3-4 cups per day. So when I tried to quit completely I had terrible headaches. My doc said 1 cup per day is fine, especially if not having any will make you feel worse. I am careful not to have any other caffeine during the day. I am lucky because I was never a pop drinker. I also drink 1 big glass of water with my coffee to counteract any dehydration effects.
Avatar f tn I'm the same way. I used to drink tons of coffee. I've now limited myself to 1 small cup a day 8 oz or so and I save my vitamins for mid day and they seem to give that boost I need to make it through the day. And I'm running around with 4.5 year old twins all day.
