Avatar m tn Especially because of the addictive nature of stimulants. Avg. caffeine in a 16oz Starbucks coffee is 320 mg. double what other store bought coffees contain. I believe it's the same thing tobacco companies began in the 1970's . Spraying nicotine onto the curing leaves used for cigarettes increased the addictive qualities of a substance already known to be addictive.
Avatar f tn My doc said up to 200mg on caffeine a day is considered safe. That's a large coffee from Tim Horton's. I would check the nutrional info at Starbucks to see the caffeine amount and then decide. I'm sure one won't hurt at any rate. I drink coffee most days and haven't had any issues. I actually just stopped because it's giving me heartburn.

Avatar f tn I'm addicted and I know it's a no no and that decaf would be just the same but I'm having a hard time turning down my chai tea lattes from Starbucks and my coffe first thing in the morning. I'm not really a soda drinker at all so that's the only source of caffeine that I'm getting except for the occasional dark chocolates that I love. I guess this isn't really a question. Just looking for some good ol fashion shaming *ahem*...... Encouragement.... to give it up.
Avatar m tn The only hippy / alternative, supplement my trial nurse spoke to me about, that could be advantageous in the HCV cure, was COFFEE and vitamin D. I drink / drank 3 or 4 cups of fresh ground, dark roast, organic coffee every morning. I took 800 UI vitamin D with my cocktail of drugs after breakfast, and 800 with RBV, after dinner. I have have been finished TX for one week now, after only 24 weeks. Maybe that hippy stuff, was the straw, the extra boost, that broke the camels back.

Avatar f tn As my gynaicologist said, you are not allowed to take those quantities of coffee)tea and have a sodathat contains caffeine as well. Have in mind that dark soda (cola, pepsi) normally isnt allowed coz it has ingredients that might harm your baby. Anyhow, if its not very important for you to take those drinks, is better if you forget them for a while.
Avatar f tn So my doctor told me I need to cut out the caffeine immediately the other day at my appointment. I usually drink a couple cups of dark brew coffee and about 8 cups of green tea everyday for the past few years. I am a student and I heavily rely on the caffeine to get me into focus and past exhaustion; I have never approached a paper without a cup of coffee. Yesterday I felt like I was dying!
Avatar f tn You can find it in whole grain cereal, oatmeal, fiber bars, green veggies, beans, yogurt, if you have a lot of pasta, switch to veggie pasta or fiber enriched pasta. If you do coffee, one cup of some dark roast stuff will do the trick but too much caffeine isn't good for the bun but to each their own. Hope this helps you. Read labels you'll find fiber. When I got more than ten grams of fiber I was definitely going more regularly.
Avatar f tn I had an aversion to coffee for the first trimester, but now I like it again - so glad! I love coffee. I drink one every day or two. Espresso doesn't have that much caffeine in it (dark roasts have less) so don't worry about having a caramel macchiato.

Different varietals can have different caffeine content, and the way the coffee is roasted can also change the values.
