Avatar f tn At the very least, you should see your doctor for investigations into dysrythmias, anxiety and coronary heart disease. Caffeine may be the reason for your symptoms, but you can't be sure unless some investigations are done. There is a heart monitor you can wear that records your heart's electrical activity throughout a couple of days that may be able to reassure you that there's nothing seriously wrong.
Avatar m tn t have a racing heart from too much caffeine. I can drink a cup of coffee before I go to bed, and not have a problem. I can also take Benadryl without having the sleepy attack that most people do. doublevision1 has it right on the whole smoking thing. Smoking will escalate your disease course.

Avatar n tn It is also a major cause of disability. There are many different forms of heart disease. The most common cause of heart disease is narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart itself. This is called coronary artery disease and happens slowly over time. It's the major reason people have heart attacks.
Avatar m tn The angio report doesn't say anything except the condition of the coronary arteries. It doesn't give details about heart dimensions, and valves and it doesn't say the efficiency of your heart. What symptoms do you have?
3053649 tn?1356365017 Personally, I didnt drink any sodas with caffeine in it. And I stopped drinking coffee cold turkey. BUT, once I got into my third trimester I started drinking a half a cup of coffee in the morning cause I missed my mornings where I drank my morning coffees lol. So half a cup a day for me. Caffeine is just bad while pregnant cause he makes the babys heart race, etc, and can cause heart problems among other things.

Avatar m tn The fresh ground coffee will be much stronger and contain more caffeine. You can buy caffeine reduced coffee and also dandelion coffee (this contains no caffeine and is a bit of an acquired taste!) Stick to 1 of two cups of coffee in a day and don't drink any caffeinated drinks (that includes fizzy drinks and tea) after early evening. Keep a record of your symptoms so that you can avoid your coffee drink if you want to feel calm and have a good night's sleep.

941118 tn?1312281926 In my personal opinion, I think effect of caffeine and similar stimulants on the heart and possibility of arrhythmias is a bit overrated. In my case, it increases the heart rate, but not necessarily the ectopic beats, even though they are PACs.
Avatar f tn Any information would be helpful/I have had open heart surgery and a mitral valve replacement, stents, 2heart attacks, and coronary artery disease. im on warfarin, lipitor and plavix. im looking for other things to do to improve my heart health, like going to gym, eliminating salt intake and dietry changes and im just concerned with safety and drug interactions.will taking fish oil, flaxseed, and making parsley herbal tea be safe or should they be avoided?.
Avatar n tn Healthy coronary arteries can carry much more blood to the heart than the heart ever needs. Coronary disease can develop over many years and when the blockages in the coronary arteries become severe enough, the blood supply is not sufficient anymore (especially during exercise, when there is more blood required or during stress or cold when the arteries narrow). That is ischemia, and it often comes with symptoms like chest discomfort.
Avatar f tn He died last September of heart disease that none of us knew he had. Do you always have heart disease if you have a heart attack? Were we just too dumb to know that?
Avatar f tn Your father has significant coronary artery disease and by your report had a heart attack. The best way to revascularize him (take care of the blockages) is with bypass surgery given the amount of blockages and the degree of calcium.

755829 tn?1246919225 But if you must drink coffee then yes, I would say that decaff is better than regular coffee. Decaff contains little to no caffeine while regular coffee contains high amounts of caffeine. Caffeine can cause MANY problems. I would name them all but it would take me a very long time. Look at this website for further information on caffeine and the side effects it has. Some you have probably already had and didn't even notice. While others take a long time to happen. http://en.wikipedia.
