Avatar m tn "...but I didn't think this drug was addictive..?? or am I wrong?? Might I be dealing with addiction??" People can be addicted to food, drugs...the internet. Ephedrine addiction is very real and don't think you cant go to N.A. because they only deal with "hard drugs" and you wouldn't fit in. To the contrary...Ive been to meetings with pot smokers....glue huffers...N.A. doesn't discriminate.
Avatar f tn I was only taking max three a day if that, off and on for a year or so. The only withdrawal symptoms that were really bothering me were stomach symptoms (I have ibs anyway) and mostly the RLS on speed feeling like all over my body. The symptoms are almost totally gone now. I was wondering if caffeine makes anyone else extremely happy now (as well as the energetic) I have never been a huge caffeine drinker to begin with.
Avatar f tn I just looked up Caffiene withdrawal and among others mood swings, depression, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and flu symptoms are some things listed!!! Could I be experiencing both Caffiene and opiate withdrawal? There are some articles that say Caffiene withdrawal is classified in some journals as a mental disorder!! I want to drink coffee now but it's 10pm! I'm intrigued now. Thoughts?

Avatar m tn I'm well into my 69th year and I'm dealing with trying to kick an addiction to Percocet. This is my first addiction except for coffee. I took my last capsule a week ago today and I'm still lucky if I get 3-4 hours of sleep at night. I, also, spend much of the night walking the floor because I can't sit still and my insides feel like something is crawling around. My addiction was very light compared to those I've read about on this forum and yet it is still kicking my butt.

Avatar m tn Don't even think about going the Suboxone route. You'll be in a far worse situation than with the vicodin as it's an extremely strong narcotic and horrifically difficult to detox from. It's supposed to be used to get addicts off street drugs and stabilized long enough for them to start putting their lives together without cravings interfering. If your vicodin is prescribed by a doctor, you should be able to work out a reasonable taper plan.

Avatar n tn U were on a very low dose but if u were taking it every day theres still a possibility u may have withdrawal symptoms. U may want to start tapering by taking a half tablet for a couple weeks then a quarter tab for a week or so before stopping. However if I were u I would first try stooping completely first to see if u have symptoms. U may not have any. Symptoms typically start 24-32 hours after ur last dose.
Avatar f tn It certainly sounds like you are, but you will know for sure if you experience these withdrawal symptoms - especially if these occur 12 hours after your last coffee: headache, foggy, depression, irritability, fatigue, decreased alertness If you are trying to quit coffee, these symptoms can last for a full week. You also mentioned that you are adding whipped cream and syrup to your coffees. These can most certainly be additive. Please see my website: Addictionsunplugged.
Avatar f tn I found this forum while searching for info about the drug Suboxon which is used for withdrawal symptoms, but that I have been using for almost 3 years now for pain; after 10+ years of going up, up, up, in amount and type of pain medicines I wanted to try being off narcotics and went into my insurance detox center. Even after that, worst experience of my life, doc was correct, pain is too much to stand...the suboxon however, did help the pain, and I was told it was non-addictive...
Avatar f tn Im addicted to zolpidem How do I get off it with the minimal withdrawal symptoms Ive been on it for 2 years now

675923 tn?1296238011 Even though your dose of vicodin is relatively low, your long period of use has likely resulted in some withdrawal. There are also different aspects to withdrawal, including physical withdrawal which would mainly consist of diarrhea, body aches, insomnia, and intense fatigue; psychological withdrawal which would be primarily agitation and depression; and finally something called 'PAWS' or 'post acute withdrawal syndrome'.

Am I simply still shaken from all the drama?

Avatar f tn To prevent the development of an opioid abstinence syndrome, you should decrease your daily dose by 25% to 50% per day. If you develop symptoms of withdrawal, the dose should be raised to the previous level and tapered more slowly, either by increasing the interval between decreases, decreasing the amount of change in dose, or both.
