Because I have an artificial joint I take 600mg of Clindamycin Prior to dental work. I han root canal done on a tooth under a permanent bridge a year ago by a General Dentist. One hour start to finish. It was infected, but I was never given any additional antibiotics. Since that time had an ongoing foul taste and odor when I used Water Flosser daily. The adjacent tooth became infected and also required a root canal. This time done by an Endadontist.
I had a root canal done on an abscessed tooth five days ago. I had waited through toothaches for almost 3 years to get this root canal done due to fear, but once I saw a giant fistula form on my gum above the infected tooth, I finally decided to get it done. I had the procedure done in one sitting completely under IV sedation. I came home confused and went straight to rest. I was prescribed Vicodin and Clindamycin.
I recently had a root canal and was prescribed clindamycin too....I too have allergies to other antibiotics. The clindomycin did NOTHING and the infection got worse so now I am on CIPRO which was my own idea. I don't know if it is working 100% yet, but at least the infection has died down and I can tell it is helping......
I have a root infection lower left tooth, was put on clindamycin 150 mg every six hours and told to take Advil for inflammation. The tooth is still very painful, have been on it for 3 days and they scheduled me for a root canal in 3 1/2 weeks time. Is this normal?
That did not help and was switched to amoxicillin, followed by a root canal. The root canal was a week ago but the lump from the abscess is still on my gum. Is this normal? I was not put on antibiotics after the root canal but I took the last 2 amox. From the prescrip I had been given the week before.
In April Ihad a root canal. Thre times after this root canal, I developed an infection. The third, in November, was the worst. I was sent back to the dds who had performed the root canal to "redo" it. He found a root he had missed. The redoing of the root canal then caused the infection to go completely out of control even though I was on clindamycin. It was so bad that anitbiotics had no effect and it had to be drained ( a most painful procedure).
I was prescribed clindamycin after experiencing pain in my tooth after a root canal. I took a double dose (600mg) of clindamycin as I missed a dose. I am experiencing severe pain from my chest through to my back. It feels like spasms and is difficult to breath. I normally take nexium on a daily basis; however I missed my dose of that too. I did take my nexium but I have felt absolutely no relief whatsoever.

2) are my tests up to this point a good indication of a - status?
3) can my root canal have delayed p24 from showing up on tests?
4) at what day would my tests be considered conclusive?
2 weeks ago I was having extreme pain on my bottom left molar. Went to the dentist and had a root canal done. Dentist was surprised there wasn't much drainage or pus. Put on Amoxicillan and Torodal for the pain. Wednesday afternoon I'm still in extreme pain. Phone the dentist and he puts me on another antibiotic (flagyll)
Over the weekend I end up in ER on IV with Clindamycin and more Torodal. Tuesday arrives pain has deminished now only taking Advil for pain.

I have been taking them for about a week now while going through some of its most irritating side-effect, diarrhea, for which I will be tested for C-difficil. However, last night I also began to experience some chest pains. I am experiencing them now also, as I just woke up.

I had the first part of a root canal done (on the last tooth on the upper left side of my mouth) 2wks ago&after that procedure there was almost no pain.I went back for the 2nd part of the root canal 10 days later&the dentist said the tooth was still infected&was bleeding during the procedure.I have been on really strong antibiotics (Clindamycin 500mg 3x/day;Clarithromycin 500 mg 2x/day;Amoxicillin 500mg 2x/day)for 2wks now.I am also taking 600mg of Ibuprofen 2x/day for 2 wks.

Today, one day after my root canal, I feel more pain, some throbbing, and more swelling then I had before the root canal yesterday. Should I be alarmed? Will waiting through the weekend be safe? The graduate Endo student that did my root canal was excellent and said that I only had one canal and also said that I did not need to take an antibiotic. He said that I shouldn't be alarmed unless I had bad pain or large swelling.
I had a root canal preformed 3 1/2 weeks ago on a molar, with a crown, for an infection but not fully abscessed. This was not my first root canal so when I began excessive swelling within 6 hours after I knew something was not right. My Endodontist saw me that next morning and removed the temporary filling to allow for the infection/pus to escape. 4 hours later I was even more swollen and it the tissue became hard.

I had my first root canal (done 7 months ago) that became reinfected just 3 months after the initial procedure. It wound up causing a massive infection, along with near constant fever and previously a very ill period of 4-6 weeks where I had the most horrible waves of debilitating flu-like illness.
At the onset of the infection, which turned into an abscess, my white blood cell count was slightly elevated.
