Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
Its like every month since July I have to take a dose of clindamycin HCl twice a day for seven days... July I took flagyl for two days was allergic to it so they gave me clindesse vaginal cream for my baby! Then august found out I still have it and they have me take this clindanycin HCl tablet. Then august 27th, ugh I still have it!! They're making me take the same ****. Sorry im just a lil bit disappointed nor upset. Yup its clindamycin HCl again for seven days twice a day!
Chlamydia has never shown resistence to the macrolide antibiotics such as azithromycin nor the tetracylines such as doxycycline. Clindamycin has no effectiveness for treating Chlamydia. Cipro is iffy for both Chlamydia and Enterococcus infections. Ask your Doctor to be sure that the Enterococcus is not a resistent strain , as this is becoming more of a problem, especially here in the US. I hope you are well soon. Take care.
I have foul discharges everyday, I was subjected to many antibiotics and I was also diagnosed to have UTI. Does these things contributed to the foul discharges I have? or are there any other reasons?
I wouldn't even treat for "possible infection" with either. I'd wait for test results to come back to see if you even have either of them.
clindamycin isn't going to help for either if you should be infected with either of them. you are wasting your time and money by taking it.
I visited an urgent care center a month ago, and was diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginitis & a UTI. I was given Macrobid & Clindamycin. Finished treatment with those, and I still had some burning after urination, not really during, but afterwards. It was a very uncomfortable heated sensation that I couldn't really pinpoint. So I saw my regular doctor, not an ob/gyn.
Thank you so much for your response. May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.

I have had a yellow discharge on and off for like 2-3 months I get antibiotics but it comes back I do not have a good diet and do not have periods not sexually active whats wrong with me??? I know I've had BV for a couple of months (since I finished a course of antibiotics for previous UTI caused by e.coli). The odor after intercourse is a clear sign. I did not want to see my doctor AGAIN for a problem "down there" , so I just lived with it. Now I have another UTI! Preliminary path. report states:" 50x10(6) CFU/L Gram negative Bacilli. Identification and susceptibility to follow. " I really don't want to go on meds again, but probably have no choice.
Notice right away that it smelled a lot like asparagus. Not sure if this normal. Have been on antibiotic Macrobid for a small UTI and the week before on clindamycin 300mg 2x day. Could not handle that. Beside the Dentist told me I had infection, when in reality I did not. Took that for no reason. So long story short. Any advice for why it smells like this?
I am curious about the answer you will receive from the doctor on this forum regarding your question concerning Clindamycin; because, I had been prescribed two rounds of it for a tooth abcess. They were approx. 3 weeks apart. The tooth had since been pulled out a long time ago; but, I developed a sudden increase in PVC's 24/7 during the treatment time with this anitbiotic and have had PVC's since.
You could try using an antibiotic ointment such as clindamycin over it and see if this seems to help. If you do not notice any improvement, I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician or a dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.

I was taken off clindamycin mid-treatment (I was feeling dramatically better, but was taken off it before infection was totally gone for blood tests) and am now trying to play catch-up, back on it and augmentin at the same time.

I went to immediate care and they diagnosed me with a uti but they also tested my urine for trich which came back negative. The doctor treated me for trich with one weeks worth of metronidazole based off of my symptoms. 2 days after finishing my metronidazole I feel the symptoms of my trich returning. I sent my doctor a message through the portal saying they came back but she basically said I’m a liar bc no one fails treatment for trich so I must have reinfected myself with a new partner.
I was prescribed a ten day course of clindamycin for a gum infection, which it took care of. Six weeks later I developed severe diarrhea with terrible gut pain and fever. Had blood and mucous in stools an perhaps some intestinal lining. I lost 10 lbs and was very weak and the thought of food made me feel sick.. Emergency room diagnosed clostridium difficile after stool samples and CAT scan. I was put on a 14 day, 4x/day course of oral solution vancomycin which solved the problem.
All my symptoms point to Black Piedra and I was in Chennai India for 10 days but that was 2 years ago. No fungal treatment over the last 3 months is working. My head has been shaved for 2 months but the black crust keeps growing out covering the hair from inside the follicle. When my hair was longer it felt like grains of sand but nothing would ever fall out.
m not sure if the spots on the back of my throat are attributed to mild acid reflux, stress, antibiotics (I was taking Clindamycin vaginally for BV during the week i slept with the guy), or oral gonorrhea, or ARS.
