Avatar m tn It includes a cleanser, exfoliator, moisturiser and treatment cream containing nicotinamide. If this is of limited benefit see your doctor for a stronger treatment gel such as Differin (adapalene 0.1%) or Duac gel (Clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide). Eloise.

Avatar m tn Have there been any studies relating to the possible influence of emotional states and acne? Is it possible that extreme anxiety might contribute to acne?
Avatar n tn I am 30 and have used "Acne-Free" for the past 5 years. It has worked great for me until now. It is almost like it has just stopped working altogether. Is there another effective over-the-counter product that would work? Would "Acne-Free" work for me again if I stopped using it for 6 months, and then re-start it?
Avatar f tn If this proves of limited benefit see your doctor for Duac gel (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) or Differin gel (adapalene 0.1%). Acne is caused when androgens (male hormones found in both boys and girls) stimulate the sebaceous (oil) glands. Girls with spots find that taking a combined birth control pill such as Diane35 or Yasmin regulates their hormones and clears acne. The pill will also make your periods lighter, more regular and less painful.
Avatar n tn Ask your doctor for Duac gel (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) or Differin (adapalene). If you are not able to access prescription medicines try Freederm (nicotinamide) which can be bought without a prescription. Women with hormonal acne will benefit from taking the combined contraceptive pill as oestrogen blocks the action of androgens- the hormones responsible for acne. Avoid the mini-pill, depot shot and hormonal IUD, all of which can make acne worse. Eloise.
Avatar n tn Your doctor can prescribe stronger preparations such as Dalacin (clindamycin) or Duac gel (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide). A course of oral antibiotics such as Lymecycline or doxycycline will also help. Eloise.
Avatar n tn If your acne isn't really bad (only mild break-outs) you should try Clinique's anti-blemish solutions! I'm 25 and continued having break-outs after puberty and tried every product there is, cheap and expensive.. I finally found this Clinique line and it is worth every penny! No more break-outs or dry skin, it's great! It's a three-step process, cleansing foam, tonic and moisturiser, perfect for people with sensitive skin or allergies . I can recommend it to anyone suffering from mild acne!
Avatar m tn The usual treatment for acne is a topical gel containing an acne-fighting ingredient (clindamycin, nicotinamide, erythromycin, adapalene, tretinoin etc). However, these are safe to apply to the face, chest and back not inside the ear. You may require oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline 250mg twice daily, if you have moderately severe acne. Most people outgrow their acne in their early 20s.
Avatar n tn As soon as I get rid of one another will start to raise up under the skin. They rarely form to a whitehead but are popable and contain quite a bit. I work on cars all day long and then train MMA at night. I wash my face twice a day, EVERYDAY. After a month or so I started washing three times a day, seemed to have NO effect. So I went back to morning & night for fear that 3 times was just drying out my skin.
Avatar n tn However recently, as in the last several months, I have had a recurring pimple-like rash at the edges of my face. It always appears right behind and a bit onto my cheeks and chin line, and it looks like small red bumps. Some are raised and some look like they are below the skin. It can be slightly itchy/painful and the salicylic acne cream I have tried did not reduce it. I was wondering whether it should go away on its own or if it could be a symptom of anything else.
Avatar n tn However, it is not as effective as prescription gels such as Duac (BP and Clindamycin) or Differin (0.1% adapalene). If your skin is too sensitive for topical meds, talk to your doctor about a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline or Lymecycline. Female acne patients will also benefit from taking a combined or anti-androgen contraceptive pill such as Diane35/Dianette or Ortho Tricyclen (Cilest).
Avatar n tn my doctor suggest me a face wash cetaphile and he ask me to use (morning) Clindamycin and in the night retino a .25% .. can i use ahglow s for morning face wash and in the night cetaphile ?
Avatar n tn Benzoyl peroxide combined with clindamycin (called Duac gel) is particularly effective. Inflammation and soreness can be treated with a topical retinoid such as Differin, or nicotinamide (sold as Freederm). Female acne patients can take an anti-androgen contraceptive pill called Diane35 (Dianette in the UK) which blocks the effect of androgens on the skin. Use a bland cleansing routine which is non-acnegenic. A good cleansing routine is important but will not in itself clear acne.
Avatar n tn Anyways, Ive been trying this home remedy of toothpaste on the acne and it seems to be working(sort of). The acne is still visible and more dry than before and there seems to be more of them??. Is there anyway to just get rid of this acne? I got it 3 days ago. I know I said the maximum it took for my acne to go was a week but this acne is kinda turning into scars(what I mean by that is one of them is a little brown dot now which looks like a speck of dirt on my nose.
Avatar f tn I tried to remove one with tweezers, and it was very tacky (as in sticky) and clearly goes deep under the skin. Part of it broke off but I could still see that the pore was plugged and a day or two later top of the plug was sticking out again. i can't find ANYTHING online that looks like it.
