Avatar f tn t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
Avatar n tn has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects. HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Avatar m tn My dermatologist diagnosed me as have moderately severe acne and prescribed me Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg 2x a day and Differin Lotion .1%. I know this will take 3-4 months for results to actually show. It's been about a month and I feel like my skin is still purging (still with red pimples and white pus), which is fine with me.
Avatar f tn The best antibiotic is probably amoxicillin or clindamycin. Ciprofloxacin would work. I don't usually prescribe bactrim. I don't really prescribe ciprofloxacin either.
Avatar f tn Chlamydia has never shown resistence to the macrolide antibiotics such as azithromycin nor the tetracylines such as doxycycline. Clindamycin has no effectiveness for treating Chlamydia. Cipro is iffy for both Chlamydia and Enterococcus infections. Ask your Doctor to be sure that the Enterococcus is not a resistent strain , as this is becoming more of a problem, especially here in the US. I hope you are well soon. Take care.
Avatar n tn I even asked if maybe it could be related some the medications (doxycycline, clindamycin, 5-HTP, clobetasol, vitamin D) I am taking. The answer was no. Was told that it was probably just a fluke and it would eventually just go away. I've reached my frustration limit. The heat isn't going away. I've tried keeping a fan pointed at my face while I am at work, but that doesn't help. I even switched the air to cool on my blow dryer. Am I doomed? Will I never find a solution?
Avatar n tn After seeing a dermatologist he prescribed me Doxycycline for 1 month and an ointment made of Clindamycin 2%, HC 1% in 80% h20 and 20% isopropanol. This ointment took away the red spots before I even started the anti biotics but once I ran out, the spots came back again...
Avatar f tn The doctor has prescribed doxycycline, clindamycin, some antihistamines and mupiderm ointment...the sores are on my buttocks and head of my penis.
1364054 tn?1346005167 Hello, Unfortunately I am unaware of sona gel but clindamycin is one the best treatments for acne vulgaris. Continue taking the doxycycline capsules and try for cleocin gel which contains clindamycin. Also keep you face clean by washing with a mild soap atleast twice a day.Pat it dry and do not rub it.Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face.
Avatar f tn i was given doxycycline and more metronidazole and finished these about three weeks ago. the tests results for stds and candida all came back negative, but the sympoms are still present. i am going back to the gum the next time i can get away from work, but no one has been able to tell me what kind of infection this is or what kind of treatment will work. i would think it was only bv but the doctor said that it was an infection of some kind.
Avatar n tn He put me on different multiple month long trails of clindamycin, bactrim ,Levofloxacin, doxycycline, and and all of them did the same thing, while on them the symptoms go away but as SOON as i finish the dosage the symptoms come right back. He even did test on me where he put me to sleep and looked in my penis with a tiny camera. as well as sent me to a lab where they tested to see if their was a blockage to see if something was blocking my pee passageway. nothing.
Avatar n tn I had taken an doxycycline and clindamycin for about a year for an infection. It caused me to have digestive problems. Will It ever get better or will it be permanant? I have also been told it caused some anxiety. So I noticed my temperature has always been 98.5-98.8 and now it is 97.1-97.6 all the time. Well I felt like I had a slight fever one day and it said 98.2. Is it normal for your normal temp to drop? It has been like that for a few months now.
Avatar f tn I have taken only 2 pills of clindamycin and now have a awfull gut ache so i quit taking it but the pain wont go away, is there anything to take.
Avatar m tn started doxycycline, 3 days later penis pain gone. I was masturbating throughout taking doxycycline and was no abnormal pain, other than second last day it was VERY rough, pain hurt immediately and persisted for a few days then cleared up. Week 11: Protected sex with condoms twice -- penis pain is back :-( Week 12: started cipro -- now three days and still painful penis. 6 days after last having sex w/ the condom Questions: 1.) Thoughts on whether this could be bacterial?

20826486 tn?1525451937 I am having random, itchy red bumps appear on the right side of my face only, mainly at my jawline and sometimes cheek area. It comes and goes at all different times and I have not been able to pinpoint what is causing it. I do not eat dairy and have recently pulled out gluten. I can wake up with my face fine and then randomly throughout the day...my face starts to itch and red little bumps appear.
Avatar f tn Never breast fed and my kids are both school age now. I am allergic to Penicillins, Flagyl, Clindamycin, and Macrobid. On christmas eve I woke up with both of my breasts swollen by two cup sizes and with a sore redness on the undersides of both. I went to a walk in clinic because my GP was closed for the holiday and they diagnosed bilateral mastitis and prescribed me bactrim. 10 days later I was no better - in fact I was worse. Now I had headaches, body aches, chills, and nausea.
Avatar m tn I've recently went to the doctor and was prescribed Doxycycline and Benzaclin a topical gel which consists of 1% clindamycin and 5% Benzoyl Peroxide it seems that its getting better, I just wanted to know what your opinion was on this?

I also am currently on doxycycline to see if that helps but nothing is helping....it’s gotten worse. It’s mainly on my jawline also and the bumps never really disappear just descrease in red was and size. It’s only on the Right side of my face and my cheek stay pretty red bc of it. 2108821 tn?1334076935 yea my discharge is watery and has a white color to it...and ive been treated with "everything" metronidazole, diflucan, clindamycin, doxycycline, monistat, terazol gyne lotrimin you name it ive tryed it nothing has worked...
Avatar f tn Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
Avatar f tn t even ask my name and prescribed doxycycline, clindamycin and retin-a. I have been using faithfully, but this acne is still SOOO itchy and painful to even move my face or to open my mouth to eat. I have no idea what happened all of the sudden and why it doesn't go away all of the sudden too! I think that I would take accutane because I am at a loss. Have tried so many things!!
Avatar m tn I picked the scab off, and placed hydrogen peroxide on it. It fizzed and it was a bit painful and bled a little when I squeezed it. It looked a lot like a syphilis Chancre (an ulcer with a yellowish crust and a crater edge). It seemed to weep water just a little bit. Over the next week it started to look like it was slowly healing with the crater starting to shrink, but still had a little yellow crust in it and when squeezed hurt.
Avatar n tn Most of the tick borne diseases do respond to doxycycline, but Babesia does not respond to doxycycline and must be treated with medications that your dog has not been treated with yet including clindamycin with metronidazole, and others. Another uncommon disease that fits many of Lola's symptoms is canine histiocytosis. There is quite a lot of information about canine histiocytosis in the following Pub Med linked journal article (though it may be a bit technical): http://www.ncbi.
