I eat a salad almost everyday and always use this salad dressing not thinking anything of it, but recently someone had told me about two cases in PA where woman have had there babies temporarily taken away because the poppyseed they have been eating had caused a false positive in the drug test for opiates! Now I'm totally freaking out, I'm 37 +5 days and would be horrified if this happened to me..

8101930 tn?1420001456 very VERY few ceaser dressings have raw egg these days - I've been eating the ones from trader joe's. Any commercially produced dressing will not have raw egg. they have the warnings about soft cheeses, like goat cheese and feta - again it is really hard to find those that are made with unpasteurized milk - so also safe.
2093716 tn?1344094995 But as for the ceasar salad... Sorry to say thats one of the worst salads to get since the dressing is quite fatty... and the fries are deep fried in oil... I mean its better than a hamburger but still the salad alone has 500 calories and 1600mg of sodium.... But you might be growing out of your yucky feeling stage pretty soon as you are into your second trimester and that is normally when everyone starts to feel better.
Avatar f tn Glad to hear!! Apples, feta, cranberry salad with the dressing is amazing! But I really want a feta, fig sauce hamburger. The local steakhouse makes it and it is AMAZING! Lots of feta and thick dressing. Very messy but sooooo good!

Dressings contain a lot of fat and can bring you 200 calorie salad spike up to a shocking 400-600 calories. So it might be smart to ask for the dressing on the side for your next salad! Avatar f tn Drink a big glass of water 20 min before your meal. Prepare your portion size & eat only that amount. Eat more vegetables. Raw Salad no dressing. Stop junk food. Come on. You know all this. Play a team sport.

I was eating granola with coconut and chia seeds with a tiny bit of milk (hormone free) and fresh fruits for breakfast. Then for lunch I would eat salad with a piece of baked chicken. I would eat the same for dinner too. I bought some organic free range chicken tenders, seasoned it then baked it and used that throughout the week.

Avatar f tn I am into this salad at yhe moment: some sort of salad leaves (preferably with rocket), avocado, tomatoes, crushed up nuts (walnuts), and dressing which I make by mixing mustard, honey, lemon juice, olive oil. Add some salt and pepper if you like. You can add little bit of feta cheese and some croutons. Absolutly love it!!!

Avatar f tn Homemade mayo includes uncooked eggs so there is a chance it could make you sick. Same with Caesar dressing. No raw egg ingredients. My dr also said lunch meat is fine to eat cold but generally better to stick to prepackaged stuff. Those slicers they use in delis are only as clean as the workers keep them. The threat is listeria but that can be found on lots of things- particularly salad bars even fruits and veggies. There's no way to bar every possible threat.

Avatar f tn I was eating a salad yesterday, same salad I've been eating all week. dressing, chicken lettuce all the same. But yesterday when i started eating it my throat started hurting severly and swelling up and my jaw started hurting. My husband gave me a benedryl and it went away becuase he thought it might be a food allery. After about 20 minutes or so after taking the benedryl i was able to finish eating the salad with no problems. Does anyone know what may have caused this?
