Avatar f tn I'm sorry for posting so much, there's just so many questions and doctors don't have ALL the answers. I like asking you ladies out there about your input and advice for these types of things. So, I'm a college student and my life is basically revolved around researching studies and articles online and I have heard and read that classical music helps the developing baby's brain. What are your thoughts about this? Have any other mom's done this and noticed anything?
Avatar f tn They can year I'd say around 17 weeks. And with my first I played him all kind of music from classical to pop and rock. He really liked Michael Jackson Haha.
Avatar f tn My little princess loves to move around to "Nursery Rhymes " ! The feeling is so great! Only 8 more weeks for me! How much longer do you all have?
Avatar f tn I play classical music for my baby...and will do it when she is born as well. It's good for cognitive development. I did it for my first pregnancy and first born. So I'll do it again this time around.
1536705 tn?1324329047 Im just wondering if playing music to your bump benefits or relaxes baby at all? Ive heard playing classical music has a calming effect on the baby....we've started playing music to our bump, some classical but others our some nursery ryhmes and songs we enjoy...has anybody ever experienced or heard of stories of the benefits?
Avatar f tn He goes to the Pandora app and he only play classical music which is instrumental and he reads to our baby.
Avatar f tn ve heard that somewhat soft and slower music is better, particularly harmonious, soothing music, like guitar, violin, piano, classical. Its recommended to avoid anything harsh or brash or discordant or startling. Its also strongly recommended not to use headphones or music directly against your belly as that amplifies sounds too loudly. I'd think bluegrass or country would be fine. I do a lot of classical or soft folksy stuff myself.
Avatar f tn ) I also enjoy country and some older metal music, not the real heavy stuff though.
Avatar f tn Myself I enjoy many different types of music, but my favorite is Classic Rock and Classical Music by Ludwig Van Beethoven. :) I'm sorry I could only list 8 kinds of music. :( If your favorite type of music isn't specified, please select Other and leave a comment below. Thanks!
1280753 tn?1367757932 My tastes run more to folk than classical, but I've found this artist's music helps center me (at least what she writes in English). Her Hungarian folk is excellent, but my translating program sux on Magyar and it's hard for me to get a lot of the nuance of what she's singinging about. http://noemibarkoczi.bandcamp.com/track/green-apple http://www.youtube.
Avatar m tn You certainly enjoy Steve Vai. Do you remember the movie "Crossroads" where he was the musician playing for the devil in a dual for someone's soul? Good film. I went to see Joe Satriani at Massey Hall back in the late 80's and I was really impressed by his ability to perform in the "classical" guitar style. Do you have any footage of that concert, by chance?
Avatar f tn I play any calming music mostly classical but not much.
Avatar f tn Even though I'm only 18, I really enjoy music from the 80's and Earlier. That is the only music that I will listen to and I also enjoy Classical Music by Ludwig Van Beethoven and Mozart. :) (Optional) Some of my Favorite Bands/Singers: Duran Duran, ZZ Top, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, The Police, Steve Miller Band, Kenny Loggins, Ratt, Guns N' Roses, and Was (Not Was). I have many others as well, but those are just a few of my favorites.
Avatar f tn I loved classical music during my csections
Avatar f tn I turn on some classical music on my phone ... then I just zone out . I try to clear my head every time I catch myself thinking about something ... it really helps ... youtube relaxing classical and go to about the 4th one down that says chill out music ...
640838 tn?1377454398 Im the same i some ways as certain music changes my moods but I also use music to calm me and manage anxiety - music can be very useful for relaxation therapy. I dont have the extreme reaction you get to loud music thank god as I am a serious iron maiden nut :) But nothing is better for calming me than classical, beethoven, mozart, bach and stravinsky seem to be perfect for times I am stressed.
Avatar f tn I was told by 4 different mom's that playing classical music to babies helps stimulate their brain...3 out of the 4 mom's said there kids speak 5 different languages none of the kids are over 6...One mom said her new husband didn't agree so she didn't play it with last kid and he is not as smart as his brother. ...idk anyone heard of this?
463595 tn?1333997222 I have heard that soothing lullabyes or classical music can be beneficial, because after being born the baby may associate it with the warm comfort of the womb and that it would help the newborn fall asleep. i wouldn't worry about it quite yet- i think the hearing isn't developed yet.
Avatar f tn When I have ringing in my ears my brain does a matrixing thing where any white noise I hear becomes music. I can change the music by thinking it. It's usually complex classical type music (I do not really like classical music). Anyhow I can make certain phrases in the melody repeat if I try or sometimes change songs or tempo. I think this kind of thing is totally normal and also, when you've actually lost it, you will not be wondering if you've lost it.
Avatar n tn Yep in the car mostly. And I play classical music to my baby. Especially when he wont settle down when im trying to fall asleep. I put the phone under the blankets and play an hour long youtube video that plays calming classical music. It usually calms him down so I can fall asleep.
Avatar f tn Can your babyhear music at 14. Weeks?
