Clarinex vs benadryl

Common Questions and Answers about Clarinex vs benadryl

clarinex

Avatar m tn For the itchy bumps, take antihistaminics like Benadryl(causes drowsiness) and Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes as it helps in soothing the skin. You can also apply mild steroid cream on the rash.If the symptoms persists then oral steroids may be needed which are available on prescription. Also keep the area well moisturized with good moisturiers. If the itching persists then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope that helps.
Avatar n tn Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines. Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness. Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.
Avatar m tn I'm real confused about allergy symptoms & treatments, I've done alot of research on the internet, but never find what I'm really looking for. Common allergy symptoms are: sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes, hives, rashes. But I never had these symptoms. My symptoms are, stuffy nose, swollen throat, excess mucus production, tight chest occassional difficulty breathing. I do not have Asthma, I am a smoker, had 3 PFT's return normal, breathing at 97%.

Avatar f tn my mom has been experiencing this weird outbreak of hives all over her body, and when she has an outbreak it seems to cause severe joint pain, but not in the same joints it kinda travels around.she has been to an allergist but they put her on predisone and clarinex and zantec but as soon as the pred. is done the rash seems to rehash and the clarinex and othe meds seem not to help at all.
Avatar f tn Her OB and PCP told her that taking her clarinex was OK. She is miserable without it and right now has a wicked cold. I have been reading now that clarinex is OK to take and other sites saying it is not OK. She is 21 weeks right now. Why would they say it is OK if it isn't? Thanks for any info.
Avatar m tn In the meantime, i have switched allergy medication from Clarinex to Xyzal, which may also be helping a little. I now take the allergy medication before bed whereas before, I had been taking Clarinex in the mornings. I notice that the problem of too much mucus seems less prevalent in the mornings upon waking up. It worsens in the afternoon and evening, especially after meals. Again, thank you for your input, Dr. Rajput.
Avatar m tn Good Afternoon, Like Kat said, it is best to see your doctor for an evaluation. I am only familiar with the Miltary when it comes to most issues, and for sleep you must consult with a psych dr. to preach the whole 'sleep hygeine' theory before they will give you any meds. I am also 24 yr old male, and have had problems with my sleep among other issues.
Avatar n tn t realize that the welts and rashes that I had been experiencing could be caused by my VS bras. I only wear VS bras and had been suffering from rashes, welts, and hives. I had to take benadryl for 3 months straight and at times these rashes were debilitated requiring that I stay home from work because of the horrible discomfort that I had been dealing with. This is just crazy. I have been wearing VS bras for as long as I can remember.
7169697 tn?1389437534 Does anyone know if it is safe to take benadryl while pregnant? I am about 30 weeks....
Avatar f tn Anyone else taken benadryl and had the baby barely move the next day? Its on my doctor's approved-drugs list so I took it to help me sleep last night. All day today I've barely felt the baby kicking. Not worried, just curious.
Avatar f tn FTM and 18yrs. 21 weeks. Do any other mommys take a benadryl before bed? My doctor told me id be fine to take one before bed everynight. I have restless leg syndrome and have a really hard time getting comftorable at night and falling/staying asleep. I was just wondering if i'm the only one that does this? It helps me a lot.
Avatar f tn Today I called my docs office and I was told I can take benadryl for the itching. My question is have any of you moms taken benadryl and baby was fine?
