celexa

Avatar f tn s now been 4 weeks since I took my last citalopram and nothing has changed. How long can the side effects from the citalopram affect the Wellbutrin?
497348 tn?1283436066 Some patients may experience withdrawal reactions upon stopping citalopram.
1110049 tn?1409402144 s a lot like Lexapro, but for me the side effects are actually fewer but of the same nature. But since neither worked for me well, and since my current problem isn't the usual, I can't tell you how it would have worked when I just had phobias.

697574 tn?1273955747 The manufacturer has by law to list all known side-effects on their product data sheets, even rare side-effects. Remember many people get through their treatment without suffering any major side-effects and hopefully this will be the case with you. So I would relax and forget it. If you worry about a decrease in libido, you'll definitely get a decrease in libido!
1128565 tn?1316721143 to ease the withdrawal, and to let you know which effects were withdrawal and which were side effects of the new med. One thing you can try if you don't want to go back to Effexor and do this a different way is to take a hefty dose of fish oil every day and some magnesium citrate.
Avatar m tn Hey, I took Effexor for two months when I first started meds. The headache is normal. What it is doing is putting a synthetic version of the beta blocker into your brain. The headache is supposed to go away after a couple months. 4Maddie is correct. If you stop taking it your withdrawals will not happen. The chemicals will slowly filter out. The meds I went to without any issues after that is Citalopram. There is a headache as it works its way in but not as bad as the other.
Avatar m tn s difficult for me to even write this question in an articulate and concise fashion. I expected to feel emotional side effects from the withdrawal of citalopram, such as irritability and depression. But these physical sensations, such as dizziness, distant-mindedness, and a general feeling of being "impregnated in the head" are all very unexpected. Has anyone experienced similar withdrawal symptoms from either of these medications?
671285 tn?1292660161 Many of the symptoms you experienced are potential side effects of Celexa (aka Citalopram), namely agitation, anxiety, fatigue, drowsiness, sweating, and panic. There is no question that you did the right thing in immediately notifying your doctor of these side effects and I'm glad you did. While it is unfortunate that your experience with Celexa was a negative one, it is important not to generalize your experience to all antidepressants.
Avatar n tn The doctor won't answer a question on the same thread twice, so if you want to ask him this question you'll need to start a new thread. My own opinion, such as it is, is that when you substitute one drug for another, you can't tell which symptom is withdrawal and which is a side effect of the new med. Another problem here is that Effexor and Lexapro are two different classes of drugs, the first being an snri and the latter an ssri.
697574 tn?1273955747 t get me wrong, it works wonders and the side effects disappear almost as soon as the positive effects start happening. Just keep to them and keep a positive attitude that they'll work and everything will be fine.
769503 tn?1238496321 Citaloporam takes 2-3 weeks, give or take, to reach therapeutic levels and side effects may be present during this time. Any concerns about side effects should be brought to the attention of his doctor. There ARE some cases where the side effects are just too difficult for someone to manage and that's when a dffferent med should be tried..............
Avatar f tn Most of these meds cause pretty bothersome side effects initially (especially the jittery feeling you describe...very common), but the good news is, they start to subside after about a week and then eventually go away completely. Some people end up requiring a short-term course of a benzo, like Ativan, or Xanax to help with the side effects. Please also be sure to see your doctor....some of the symptoms you listed aren't very common side effects and may indicate a medical issue...
1131131 tn?1275108488 It might take a month until you can see some improvements and you will have side effects because your body needs to adapt . Common side effect when starting are nausea and dizziness. High blood pressure, sweating, tremors, shaking are definitely a bad reactions and might also occur with a SNRI.
695983 tn?1242774124 I have told the doctor 3 times now about these effects and they still say the side effects take time to go away. My breasts are so sore, im worried. Im sick of going back every week. I have seen two different doctors now.
Avatar m tn The Doc wants me to take citalopram for stress. What is the most common side effect?
Avatar n tn ve been on citalopram (including myself) and there was no weight gain. However, weight gain is listed under possible side effects, so it does happen to some people. But it's not like mood stabilisers, where the weight gain is very likely. I wouldn't worry about it. Most things that are listed under the side effects of any given drug are very rare.
Avatar m tn I've been having a problem for a few months and i'm wondering if it's my medication. I've been on and off citalopram for years and in recent years started self medicating (yes i'm an idiot) and also gone long stretches of not taking anything. i told the doctor and started all over again with 10mg for a months and then upped to 20mg 9 weeks ago.
4676475 tn?1357862304 Hey, well i been taking citalopram(40mg) almost for three years, i am 19 years old recently last week i been trying to stop taking them for the reason that later in life i want to be healthy and taking no type of medication because i want to have kids and have a family, but it seems not be happening for me i just started with the anxiety last night and i hate the side effects on not taking the medication. well my main question is if its safe taking this medication while pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
