In males, as you know UTI’s are quite rare but unfortunately once the males get the UTI’s, they become difficult to treat. Important things to be ruled out for recurrent UTI’s in a male are :- 1. Diabetes 2. Any urinary obstruction commonly due to stones/strictures 3. Any congenital abnormality in the urinary tract 4. Chronic prostatitis He should definitely see a urologist and will need further tests to rule out these possibilities. For e.g. an USG of the kidneys,ureters and bladder, IVU etc.

Then i took ciprofloxacin, and the same thing happend. I have given up on antibiotics and to manage this I always drink lots of water, but a few weeks later I started getting testicular pain during urination. Could this be epididymitis?

I have never missed a day or anything. Today I began the antibiotic ciprofloxacin to treat a UTI. Will the sex from last night affect my birth control even though I have been taking it normally? I feel like it shouldnt because at this point in my birth control cycle my body wouldn't have produced a mature egg to release. I'm still worried. Should i take the plan b pill or am i freaking out over nothing?

Hi as a pharmacist I would never dispense ciprofloxacin to a pregnant woman as the cautionary advice is to completely avoid it. In fact it should be avoided in all three trimesters unlike some antibiotics which are safe in the second or third trimesters. This has really annoyed me as there are safer alternates available. Eg amoxicillin which is effective against uti causing organisms. Please do not take cipro and request a safer alternative.

Said it seems to be a yeast infection with a possible UTI. They gave me Diflucan one day pill and Ciprofloxacin to take for 10 days. I have 5 days left on the meds. I feel that it's made it feel better but I still have a bit of itching, burning and irritation right around the vulva. I just wanted to find out if ciprofloxacin can treat gonorhea. I had a discharge on my penis and was prescribed cipro for five days. After taking this for 2 days the discharge stopped and after finishing the course even the pain disappeared. My fear is that the infection might reoccure since im told cipro is not the best treatment for sti.

It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.

I did a full STI test and everything came out negative. the collected sample came out negative for herpes. I got a UTI went to an urgent care got prescribed Ciprofloxacin went to an OBGNY again cause i had a heating sensation when taking the Ciprofloxacin again I did a STI screening took urine sample and Nitrite was detected as well as Leukocytes but i was already treating for the UTI again everything negative.

I would feel quite "wired" and notice that my heart is a bit racey. 2 Along with that came odd random heart pain, or left chest pain. I also had small headaches pulsing every once in a while. 3. Hi, About a month ago I began getting symptoms of a sore urthrea at the base of the penis and a sore right testicle. It became worse to the point of painful erection and ejaculation, sometimes for a day afterwards until subsiding. There is no burning during urination or any discharge. I recently had a UTI and was put on two different antibiotics one of them being ciprofloxacin. I have still been experiencing some symptoms of the UTI (they aren't as bad as before) such as a slight burning while I pee and an urge to urinate. However, the pee test that my doctor did came back negative for bacteria the last time I was there and they let me go on my merry way even with my slight symptoms claiming that it could just be irritation and should go away.

He did a urine test with culture found puss cells but no bacteria in culture. Doctor gave me Ciprofloxacin for 7days. Now pain is almost gone but penile discharge is still there.As per doctor it may be Uti. Will penile discharge will go away or should test for STD.

Now done with prescription and systems still persist. Going to call doctor to see if another analysis/culture. Any other suggestions on what I should do.
