Just from time to time I felt unpleasant smell from it even with taking a shower every day. After like 10 days my throat became very sore and inflaminated for 2 days and then it was better, but still sore, nothing else, no fever, no running nose or anything. The doctor told me it was probably strep throat and prescribed me penecillin. My throat got better. Only 12 days off of the antibiotics, and I decided to get tested for a STD as the symptoms of painful urination and an itch in my penis worsened and became much more bothersome. Now I'm wondering, could this strep throat really have been gonorrhea or another STD.

I know strep and allergies are definitely two different things, but it could be that if he has an allergy issue, his nasal passages and throat get irritated from that and then an infection occurs - the strep throat. This past winter I, myself, got strep throat twice and pneumonia once - the first bout of strep actually landed me in the hospital for 4 days.

2 doctors told me I had strep.. second one tested for strep came back positive.. could 2 doctors be wrong about this? Thanks !!

As far as the concerns go regarding strep throat....Consider your drinking water a source. and they did a culture of my throat and it came back Strep C. It's highly likely you're going to get strep throat. The incubation period for streptococci is 2-5 days so you should be feeling something around now.

Sometimes you can also get swollen lymph nodes under the neck. You don't always get pus (white spots on the tonsils or back of the throat) but you usually do. Strep throat can become serious so they do have to watch you. Sometimes it does go away on its own. I would definitely get the swab done.

If do you it could be a strep throat. IF no fever and no pus but just a red throat it maybe a virus. It should pass in a couple of days if it is a virus. If it dosen't get better then see a doctor and be honest about the oral sex. They can easily do a throat swab for GC and also a culture for strep throat or a rapid strep test and culture.
