treated with CiproDex otic solution,no response, another round of CiproDex this time combined with Azithromycin. Left eyelid started twitching few days after ear infection/CiproDex treatment. Gradually, I started having tingling in my legs. Also had three panic attacks with heart beat +180 bpm. diagnosed with borderline hyperthyroidism (TSH 0.32 and FT4 24) and all symptoms were attributed to thyroid problem. The thyroid is back to normal now without any thyroid meds.
I have had for the last 5 months, fluid leaking from ear, A thick yellow sometimes clear puss like fluid, Cause? Infection, I was prescribed ciprodex a week ago, Im suppose to take it for 14 days and then get surgery to patch a hole in my left ear.
The fluid is still leaking, all the time, How can the medication work if my ears wont stay dry? The fluid is probably blocking the medication from actually working.

I just had tubes put in both ears 6 days ago. I got the flu and had both ears infected. The pressure and pain is gone, but now I'm talks by ina tunnel and my hearing is diminished. I think I'm draining, because when I use my ciprodex drops...I swear I taste it in the back of my throat. How lucky big is this gonna last? Will my hearing go back to normal? Will the tunnel in my head stop?
Hey! So this all started about two months ago when I decided it would be a good idea to self-irrigate my ear after experiencing a lot of wax. I got a syringe and some warm water and just started blasting into my right ear canal. It didn't end up being successful as the wax never actually did come out, but I then started having earaches that have never fully healed. I've been to the doctor 4 times since then.
Hey all, i had gonorrhea and got ciprodex and doxy. I noticed that my sperm is really watery and see-thru and my balls warms since then. Is it normal? Any chance i still have the gonorreah/some other infection?

It's probably pretty rare but some antibiotics have been known to cause nerve damage and impair sexual ability - Floxin is one I've heard that can do it. Here's one man's account of his wife's run in with it

ciprodex,ofloxacin,elatrolet,toviaz,spasmex,sedural,sodium bi carbonate . Non of these drugs helped my or eased my symptoms. In addition, I went through 10 acupuncture sessions without any improvement. Drinking ample amounts of water, parsley tea and cranberry juice showed no change as well. Nothing seems to help. I don't know how to carry on from this point on, my quality of life has been impaired to a point where I can no longer recall the feeling of being well.
Likewise, I was given eye drops (TobraDex) after the floxin ear drops failed to clear up a resistant infection. I don't think it will hurt you, but mine burned a bit when I first put them in. My ENT said the eye drops have a steroid, so they it is more aggressive at killing infections.
Anyways, after 3 weeks of the eye drops....even the eye drops hasn't fully killed the infection, so I guess I have a particularly nasty strain.
My partner was recently diagnosed with gonococcal prostatitus and has undergone a rather horrible treatment consisting of 2 urethral cauterizations plus a 7 day series of iv injections of azithromycin and some type of floxin. After terminating the treatment, his doctor performed a prostate massage and informed that he was free of gonorrhea but still had an elevated white blood cell count. The doctor then recommended a third cauterization.
so i was perscribed 400mcg of floxin for 2 weeks, im half way through the treatment but still have the itching. im starting to worry that its not killing the infection, does anybody know a 100% cure for both bacterias??? ive researched this bacteria and nothing helps me, it all says its a hard thing to get rid of. please help, the itching is driving me crazy and this bacteria is known to cause PID which causes infertility and im freaked!!
t able to see my eardrum because there was so much drainage. He put me on Ciprodex. Here I am, 5 days after all of this started, and my ear is still plugged!!! I don't expect miracles, but I was hoping the new drop would do something. I can't hear out of my ear, I keep getting shooting pains, it is beyond uncomfortable when my 15 month old screams, and I'm tired of this!!!
At this point it feels like my ear is plugged, not need to pop. Is there anything I can do to unplug my ear???
I found a post that said that medications from the fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox or Floxin) can cause these symptoms...I took Cipro and Levaquinn about 7 years ago, for a few short days each and my doctor switched the medication saying I was allergic. Now I am wondering if all my symptoms that have gone undiagnosed could be a side effect of those medications. Anyone else able to tie the two together? If so, what can you do to make it better?
Ent relented and gave me Ciprodex ear drops. Began using 3 daya ago, they seem to help, especially first 2days, but the antibiotics I was on at the time, the prescribed term to use them was up! Now the drops don't seem as effective??? In the interim saw my family doctor, she looked in both ears, said the one ear, ear dum is clear, like saran wrap, the ear that I'm having the problem with, she said looks pink and thicker, she didn't seem to have an answer!!! Any ideas???
What's the story. Did you reslove this issue? If so, please provide some details. I have a similar problem but it is prostitis. I'm taking cephspan, which should be effective, to fight this one. I took levo floxin for 3 weeks but it didn't do the trick. I need to be on anti biotics for 3-6 weeks maybe longer.
Over the past 10 yrs most physicians have chosen the fluroquinolones like Cipro, Floxin etc. In the recent past few years bacteria have become resistant to even those new drugs, and have forced them to go back to the older drugs like Bactrim DS nd Macrodantin.
Since the C & S was not clear you will now just have to do the trial and error method. Try Cipro next, 500mg twice daily for 5d. Good luck.
