ciprodex ear drops

My understanding is that ciprodex is an ear drop so you definitely need to stop using it in the eye. It may have a different pH than eye drops and might cause significant irritation - but not usually a major problem. Please have your doctor make you an appointment with an ophthalmologist and explain to the primary care docor that the ciprodex drops are not for the eye.

Hey! So this all started about two months ago when I decided it would be a good idea to self-irrigate my ear after experiencing a lot of wax. I got a syringe and some warm water and just started blasting into my right ear canal. It didn't end up being successful as the wax never actually did come out, but I then started having earaches that have never fully healed. I've been to the doctor 4 times since then.

My 8 year son has had an ear infection for 5 weeks now. We've gone through a course of Ciprodex otic drops and a course of Neomycin/Polymyxin B ear drops. He's also been on Keflex and Augmentin. The doctor keeps telling me it's "swimmer's ear" or "just an ear infection" and should go away soon. 5 weeks of dealing with my child hurting is not soon enough. I'm actually a pediatic RN and know that this is not normal.

I just had tubes put in both ears 6 days ago. I got the flu and had both ears infected. The pressure and pain is gone, but now I'm talks by ina tunnel and my hearing is diminished. I think I'm draining, because when I use my ciprodex drops...I swear I taste it in the back of my throat. How lucky big is this gonna last? Will my hearing go back to normal? Will the tunnel in my head stop?

To ease ear pain, apply a warm washcloth or a heating pad set on low. Follow the instructions for ear drops and complete your antibiotic course. You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain. However, if symptoms worsen, consult your doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Excellent advice, merceditas. Ciprodex otic is an antibiotic ear drop that combines the antibiotic ciprofloxacin with the glucocorticoid steroid dexamethasone. While both of these things are safe to use on a dog, human-strength drugs are often too strong to be used on our much-smaller four-legged companions, and what starts out as a well-meaning gesture quickly turns into a medical emergency far bigger than the original problem.

Ent relented and gave me Ciprodex ear drops. Began using 3 daya ago, they seem to help, especially first 2days, but the antibiotics I was on at the time, the prescribed term to use them was up! Now the drops don't seem as effective??? In the interim saw my family doctor, she looked in both ears, said the one ear, ear dum is clear, like saran wrap, the ear that I'm having the problem with, she said looks pink and thicker, she didn't seem to have an answer!!! Any ideas???

s/lupus trigered by ear infection 2)adverse reaction to ciprodex since i might have overdosed 3) rheumatic fever since my ear infection was lingering for a couple of months until it was fully cured? which one is more likely? I am dying. I am thinking about getting something to take and die. I live in Canada and here it takes months until you see a specialist. I have an appointment with a rhematologist in a couple of months. I just cant take it anymore. please help me.

Left eyelid started twitching few days after ear infection/CiproDex treatment. Gradually, I started having tingling in my legs. Also had three panic attacks with heart beat +180 bpm. diagnosed with borderline hyperthyroidism (TSH 0.32 and FT4 24) and all symptoms were attributed to thyroid problem. The thyroid is back to normal now without any thyroid meds.

U put the peroxide right in ur ear like a cap full lay on ur opposite side nd let it bubble sorry if I wasn't clear

I have a ton of fluid in my right also. Really thick. My Doctor put me on Ciprodex ear drops after I had a tube placed in my ear 4 months ago. I read the side effects to this medicine and it stated that it causes ear congestion and pain. So after 4 months I decided I am going to try and not put the drops in as recommended and see if my fluid in my ear goes away. I have jaw pain occassionally and the muscle below my ear hurts. I have had these syptoms for almost a year.

did not describe any of these unwanted symptoms prior to the visit to your doctor I am more inclined to believe that the problem you are experiencing is a result of using the paraffin (mineral oil) ear drops. This product will not irritate the ear canal or the sensitive membranes; however, it can cause the wax within the canal to swell. The swelling of the wax may create a sense of fullness, can occlude the ear canal and cause hearing loss & can cause you to feel dizzy.

I got three different types of ear drops.. I have infections in both ears and two ear drops I got from my doctor and one I got from the hospital..

I gave her 5 drops in each ear for 5 nights before I realized that the drops were eye drops. Will this hurt her in any way?

I was on ear drops & amoxicillin for 20 days a month ago for a double ear infection. It's fine. My OB was the one who prescibed them.

Can you name the product the vet gave you for her ear mites? My cat had ear mites. I took him to the vet where he got vaccinations to kill not only ear mites but also other common parasites. I was given Mita Clear to put in his ears every day. What product did you get at the vet?

it important to keep up with the drops and get rid of the yeast, try massaging the outside of the ear after you put the drops in....the ear is feeling wet and irritated thats why he is shaking his head. the hematoma may not improve until after you are done the course of ear drops, than I hope it will slowly go down.:( good luck..

Perhaps you have some eczema in the earcanal (did the MD give cortisone drops?) I would be careful about putting any kind of cream into the ear, or anything for that matter. Some use olive oil drops as a home remedy.

Some people use 3-6 drops of olive ear in the ear. First, you need to get a cloth or cotton ball and clean as much of the debris out of the ear as possible. You would apply the drops and rub the ear from the outside. This can take 2-4 weeks to clear up. I've read also that you can use vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) and put a few drops in the ear. You DO NOT want to do this if the ear is sore and irritated as it will sting.

Hi, I went to the doctors with tinnitus. She told me it was due to ear wax and would need syringing. So I've started ear drops (earex brand) in preparation. However these seem to have left the ear with a permanently blocked/head in a bucket feeling. Is this normal? Will it be fixed once syringed?

I went to the doctors for an ear infection, he prescribed drops. After about 12 days he said the infection was dead and I could stop using the drops. Few days later ear hurt again and after checkup doctor told me to start the drops again. About a week later he told me he was sure it was gone this time and I can stop the drops again.
