levaquin

867582 tn?1311627397 I recently took a 3 day course of Cipro for a UTI. I have alot of tendon pain already, as I am also battling Lyme disease, but I will "BOLO"! (Be on the look out.
Avatar n tn Try to avoid Cipro or Levaquin if you can. The side effects can be horrible including orthopedic problems you do not want to have, so tell them you throw up when you take them if they try to give you Cipro/ciprofloxacin or Levaquin.
Avatar m tn My husband was on a long-term course of cipro for prostatitis. After three weeks, he developed stomach aches and pains and the doctor told him to stop. Unfortunately he also developed the types of pains and muscle weakness you are describing. This was in January and it has been a year without it going away. Cipro is a VERY powerful antibiotic and there are boards on the internet that have many people complaining about their "Cipro poisoning".
493068 tn?1224765315 I have chronic bladder infections and on long term Macrobid and still get frequent UTIs. I have had 3+ bacteria for the last 2 months despite Cipro and Levaquin. This morning the UTI is back with burning, frequency. They did not do a C&S before Cipro I think because it is always e-coli. What could be wrong with these 2 meds not working?....I am so tired of this pain and burning. I also have had lower back pain and groin pain for the last 2 mos.
Avatar f tn Took it for an upper respitory infection for 3 days and had terrible problems. The Dr then gave me Levaquin, took for 7 days, with the same side effects. Just this past winter, I had a UTI that wouldn't go away and was treated with Biaxin and another abx (I can't remember which one, I have to look...maybe Ceftin) and had a bad reaction to both of them. I went to the health food store and took a D-Mannose cranberry supplement instead of abx to get rid of the infection.
Avatar m tn I was on Levaquin for 10 days for a sinus infection. Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.
Avatar n tn The levaquin has had very minimal impact overall and I wish he’d given me more cipro and a longer cycle. Has anyone had a similar case where you relapses quickly? If so, were you given a new med and did that work? Were you given the same med? Any other ideas or insights would be helpful.
168348 tn?1379357075 Just wondering bcz I am on the Levaquin 500mgs 1X day for 7 days for a pretty bad urinary tract infection / small stone that passed (kidney) and along with normal side effects like gas, and feeling some tired/dizzy which I usually get from Levaquin I keep getting chills and more tired than normal but it comes and goes and yet my clinical symptoms for the UTI/stone passing are cleared up I do not think the chills are related to the medical problem and really wondering if after 5 days my TSH is
640719 tn?1277140030 I'm getting a bit scared lately... I have been battling a recent UTI. I used to get them a lot when I was younger but haven't had one in about 2- 3 years. Anyway, took levaquin 500mg for about a week and felt much better then 4 days later it hit again. Did the AZO testing which tested positive for nitrate so went back on Levaquin and after two days of taking it I wasn't getting much relief so I went to my doctor.
Avatar f tn I went back and they gave me Cipro for 10 days. That did not help. Then they gave me Levaquin for 7 days. I finished all of the antibiotics but I am still experiencing flank pain (upper abdominal, lower pelvic area, and upper and lower back). I also still have White Blood Cells in my urine. Even though I took all of these meds, can it be that I still have a UTI , kidney infection or kidney disease?
Avatar m tn Today I went to my Urologist again and he told that I have an infection. I have also started feeling imcomplete urniation. He has prescribed LEVAQUIN 500 for 14days (1 per day). Could you please help me to understand for what kind of infection LEVAQUIN is prescribed and how it is different from Cipro? How long will this antibiotic take to reduce the symptoms?
Avatar n tn The symptoms usually, but do not always disappear. Mine lasted for nine months. And I foolishly requested the Levaquin myself! I am reminded of the Space Odysessy script where Hal the computer says: "I seem to be making a fee bad decisions lately". Curiously many people take Cipro without problems (a drug of the same class) but have no tolerance for Levaquin.
Avatar f tn yes i can tell you i will never take levaquin again either , i have took the 500 lots of times but i took the 750 and 4 hours after i took it , my body went crazy i was having panic attacks one after another and could not sleep for 24 hours until it got out of my body, if you google this drug you will see so many who have had problems with it , its not a good drug but i took many times for a uti, no more for me, the 750 was way to much and now i will not take the 500 after that, yes i belive it
Avatar f tn and a week or so later i noticed pelvic pain. Made an appt and get tested for stds (12 days after unprotected sex). The doc found a uti and rx'd macrobid. Std tests came back negative. Macrobid didn't help and i developed burning with urination...doc gave me cipro. After cipro burning and pelvic pain was worse, so i went to the er. They found cervicitis and swabbed the pus for a std test and rx'd doxycycline for 2 weeks. Std test came back negative.
Avatar m tn Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.
443434 tn?1255891233 I was given Cipro for a simple UTI, I was 36 years old. I was dizzy for three and half weeks, vertigo, nausea, then the ear pressure, spots in left eye, flashes in left eye, short term memory loss, horrible dreams, weak wrists and knees, massive floaters headaches, ears ringing, dry eyes, itching all over, rashes, insomnia, dark spots in left eye, eye pain, blurred vision, sensitive to sound, vitreous detachment happened in left eye and now happening with the right eye.
Avatar m tn The pain started after I had sex with the one that was tested and I was given Cipro (sometimes I took it once a day and sometimes twice), Bactrim (again taken inconsistently like the Cipro), and now I am almost finished with Levaquin (taken faithfully). I had really bad urinary pain and they said I do not have bacteria in my urine (which is prob masked) and asked about STDs. I have a yeast infection from the antibiotics and am taking antifungal meds now and feel a little better.
798555 tn?1292787551 How long does the rash typically last? Mine is faded to a tan color.
Avatar f tn However, I did have intensified gut and neuro symptoms as well as anxiety, all of which are attributed to Bartonella. I am still on Levaquin for it even though my anxiety is gone.
Avatar f tn I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me. This discussion is related to Levaquin for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea.
1831849 tn?1383228392 "Individual results may vary." I'll go out on a limb and say 48 to 72 hours should get you to some noticeable improvement -- IF you follow all the other instructions, such as laying off soda pop, adding cranapple, blah, blah, blah. Drink lots if water.
Avatar m tn My question is with those meds can I still have some antibiotic resistant STD. I also took the AZO Uti test and all three test were negative for an UTI. My next option is to get a CAT Scan done but it cost a lot of money. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn These drugs are awful. i had been given Cipro. I did find that taking 3 mg of boron a day (purchased at a health food store) inactivates the fluoride and got rid of the joint pain and burning in about a week. However to this day 4 years later the tightness in my leg remains. I worked with a trainer and my muscles are fine now. These drugs should be avoided at all cost!

Avatar m tn In January 2014 I gave another urine sample and urethral swab and the latter came positive for S. aureus. The doctor prescribed 10 days of Levaquin. After taking it, the slight urethral discomfort was still there. I went and gave other samples and also had an ultrasound. The doctor told me I had sand in my kidneys so I began thinking of kidney stones having caused my problems. A week after the symptoms subsided completeley.
Avatar m tn Do not take Levaquin for a sore throat. The drug is a class called fluoroquinalones, and the side effects may include anything from aches and pains for months to tendon rupture. If a fluoroquinalone is prescribed Cipro has far fewer side effects.
Avatar n tn Cipro for 2 weeks still in pain. Then switched to Levaquin for 10 days. While still on the cipro I began to feel mild muscle aches. After 4 days of Levaquin my muscle aches and joint pain increased. I stopped the pill doc's orders 2 weeks later on no antibiotics.
