Thanks , I apperciate your time, I was actually given the cipro because my MD is thinkng a prostrate infection, I just stoppped taking it because I want to retest for Chlamydia Asap, the first test I took that came back negative which was in sept 08, I was on Keflex, due to a pilonidal cyst that is now removed, but I was unaware that the Keflex could effect the NAAT, but I did also have a urinalysis prior to the STD test that yielded no WBC's.
So I was prescribed Cipro, but I had an allergic reaction to it. So now I am on Keflex 4x a day for 7 days. Today is 2nd day, I still feel the pain. I am thinking that my bacteria is now resistant to antibiotics after taking so many. Does anyone have experience with this? Could it be a kidney stone lodge in the right part of my urethra?
I now have been taking antibiotics for about a month, about 10 days of keflex with a 5 day break, 10 days of cipro, and 3 days break before another 10 days of cipro. Am now taking a 10 day round of both clindamycin and bactrum to treat it. Thing is, blood work I had 5 days ago when I got started taking my clindamycin and bactrum now shows that I have no signs of infection in my blood, from CBC to my C-Protein.
hi since may of this year, i have been on the following, keflex twice(70 pills total), cipro twice (40 pills total), azthromycin twice (8 pills total), doxycycline (40 pills total), bactrim(30 pills) and 3 rocephin shots). would that be why for the past few months i have had yeast/fungal issues, they come and go in my groin and under stomach and arm area, and little yeast bumps on body?
And so now have had two different IV antibiotic occasions, and 10 days of cipro, followed by 9 days of septra ds, followed by a few days of keflex, and I was switched to levoquin? (something like that).
My scrotum is worse, it swells up and reddens and this worsens throughout the day. The epididmytis pain is much better than a few weeks ago, but I’m still hobbling around.
One other question, does the discharge from chlamydia appear spontainoulsy or is it only on arousal, my discharge is pre and post arousal only, and I talked to Dr Edawrd Hook, he highly doubts chlamydia, also I spoke to my PCP tonight and he said Keflex would not have affected the test, as Keflex is not effective against it, and the fact it was done first thing in the AM helps the accuracy of the test,,,,, so yeah is a spotainous discharge ( I would assume so right, a continous discharge) or is
One thing I keep wondering is if a recent salivary gland infection and a cycle of amoxicillan and a cycle of keflex might have something to do with this? I have a wicked infection and I ended the keflex cycle about 10 days prior to this happening. Just odd that I'm having two significant issues like this back to back.
Any ideas would be helpful.
About three months ago, after thinking I was getting the flu, I developed a major UTI and wound up in the emergency room. It took one three day dose of Keflex and two doses of Cipro to get rid of it completely. I am left with leakage only after peeing and dull pain and sometimes a knife like pain in the lower urethra. My doctor's answer to my questions, are, "I don't know".
I think it's a friction issue but you may also have a urinary tract infection unrelated to a sexuallly transmitted disease. you need to get your urine tested and take an antibiotic if you have one. Don't let them give you Cipro. Get something milder like Keflex or amoxicillin. Cipro causes long-term issues. Just tell them you're allergic to Cipro. Makes you vomit or break out. Do not take it.
He prescribed keflex 500mg TID for 2 weeks. I also had a URI. This is my 5th day on the antibiotics . I ahve NEVER had anything like this before. Since an ulcer has formed should I go back to my doctor, Or wait and see as he originally suggested by my gp? Trauma? Chancroid? Please advise.
Furthermore, I was 5 days into a 500mg X 3 per day of a 10 day Keflex for a minor surgery procedure. I finish the prescription as directed by the prescription. It has been 21 days since the encounter I have had no symptoms that I can relate to STD from reading the forum. The only condition I have currently is swollen left jaw. On the 3rd day or so of the Keflex, I started to get short of breath and getting repeated what felt like adreniline rushes approx every 30seconds or so. That continued for days and then turned into vomiting and seizure like shaking and horrible grass green and yellow diarrhea whith the most incredible neck and head pain I have ever had. I was also so dizzy I could hardly stand.
Went to the doctor and he tested me for strept and mono and tests came back negative. Well he put me on keflex (250mg twice a day for 10 days) totaling 5000mg course. My concern is that I got syphilis has well as hsv2 that same encounter but the keflex cured my syphilis but I gave it to my girlfriend before I was cured. Will that low of a dose keflex cure syphilis? I also had a full test 1 1/2 months post keflex and everything was fine except hsv2.
It is starting to really bother me and almost at times makes me sick on my stomach from smelling this all day. He put me on Keflex and I must return in 9 days for a re-check. Does this really sound like a sinus infection or something more serious?
I just read your question about the possible allergic reaction to Keflex. I had previously taken Keflex for mononucleosis at the age of 18 and and other things during my early 20's and never had a problem. A few years later when i was 28 I took it again. I had a terrible reaction. I had very large raised hives that started on the tops of my thighs, inside my arms and up my neck. My eyes were swollen and breathing became a task. I double dosed benendryl and went to ER.
ve been having chills and just feeling blah, my main questions are is Keflex a good second choice antibiotic to clear up epididymitis i have an apointment with a urologist to basically ask the same questions and further investigation and my second question would be should i go ahead and take the keflex or wait for the urologists opinion since the doc that prescribed keflex was a general practicioner and not a specialist, your input would be much appreciated.

After abdominal surgery, I used bacitracin with zinc on the incision sites. That and the bandages caused a rash and infection. The doctor prescribed a prescription antibiotic cream and 7 days of Keflex. It cleared up the rash infection, but my skin is "stained" pinkish-red where the rashes were The doctor said it should lighten back to my normal skin color in a few weeks or months. Hi, i started my a dose of Keflex last week, and a couple of days into it, my penis started to really itch, on the underside of the head of the penis, and now also seems red and puffy.
I did have unprotected sex about a week before i started the medication, and was wondering if it could be side effects to the Keflex, Or if i have caught a STD?
