I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
I was prescribed Cipro for and URI. I started to itch so my doctor told me to discontinue it because I am allergic to Sulfa drugs. I have been itching on my thighs, arms, face, hands, ears and elbows. My eyes also swell when I scratch I see bruises. What could possibly be wrong with me.. My blood work was normal.
I had an STD screen three days into my Cipro cycle and it came back negative. I completed the 10 day cycle of Cipro, had a 7 day cycle of Doxocycline due to symptoms persisting, and then had another test done 4 days after the completion of Doxocycline. All tests were negative.
I am currently back on Cipro after seeing a urologist. He was not concerned with STD as I passed two screens already, but I'm not sure of thier accuracy because of the meds I was one.

I've broken out in a terrible rash from being out in the sun while taking the antibiotic Cipro. My pharmasist might have warned me, maybe I wasnt paying attention. It's been three weeks since I've been off Cipro but the rash is still with me. I work in the food service industry and I deal with the public. I dont want to freak anybody out, and long sleves are out of the question. I've been using Vaseline intensive care for a week but it only helps with the flakiness. Help please??
I started out with a burning sensation while I urinated that existed right underneath my penis for about 3 weeks. I went to the doctor when the burning first started and was prescribed Cipro for yeast infection.After 3 days on Cipro I went to the STD clinic and checked me for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, and aids. Which all came back negative. After taken 10 days of Cipro with no results, I went back to the doctor and he called a urologist for advice. Urologist then prescribed me Rapaflow.
I stopped the cipro after the itching became unbearable. I should have consulted a doctor, but the pharmacist was closer and I didn't feel all that bad, despite the cough.
The reason I posted this in the STD forum was because it affected the genital area and I thought it was a STD, possibly excited because of the medicine I was taken (reaction or the bacteria fighting back)
I've taken some pictures as the skin has almost completely peeled off and is no longer sensitive to touch.
Since then within two days I felt itching inside my penis but no discharge. I saw doctor and doctor gave me cipro 500 with granules for 5 days. I felt good during the course. But still the symptoms existed. I saw an expert urologist and he gave me zinnat 500 with pantazol 40 for 10 days. Both doctors took me 3 urine test, 1 blood test, 1 cervical x-ray and 1 USG (though it is yet to checked by doctor but the technician says me nothing abnormal). Now this course is also finished.
I have used permethrin, sulfur soap, sulfur ointment, alcohol, apple cider vinegar, and funny enough...cipro, which actually relieved the itching on the scalp. What is this? I have a daughter who was not feeling anything until two days ago. So I can't be crazy if she's complaining about itchy skin and scalp also. Could it be somekind of bacteria? I bought a 60x to 100x small microscope to check for crawlers but see nothing.
Last week, I was diagnosed with a UTI. I was prescribed 500mg of Cipro and I took it two times a day for five days. On my last day, I noticed that my vaginal discharge had changed colors. It was a very, very, very light brown (tan) color, but I didn't think much of it until it progressively got darker. (I've also had very slight vaginal itching, but it only happens a couple times a day.
After 3 days I started feeling disconfortable in my tummy and testcles, then fever like and then went to a clinic and was given cipro and docxy. The condition improved and before completing the medication itching started on my head of my penis and then sores, I went back to the clinic and they put me on paincllin injection, 3 once a week and doxcy, sores dissapared but came back after finishing injection, I went back, was given 1 injection of Gentamicine and Cipro for five days.
I have noticed burning/itching in the fold of skin between the scrotum and thigh as well as itching on the thighs and lower abdomen. Do you think this could this be related or caused from the medication? Also I experienced severe abdomenal and back pain on my right side on Saturday as well as the urethra pain on and off for a month. Is this common and how long does it take for symptoms to typically go away? Do you think I may need more cypro?
So I've had this problem for a while now that after I ejaculate, the tip of penis itches (like in the urethra). Also, there is usually some clear discharge afterwards when I go limp. Sometimes there is a foul odor during ejaculation as well. Also, I have had a problem for as long as I can remember that my urine continues to drip out after I'm done urinating. I went to the doctor earlier this week with these symptoms and was prescribed with ciprofloxacin.
I have no noticed any strangely colored discharges, but have noticed that I have a little itching down there - but think that I am thinking about this more often due to the experience. I am freaking out over things that I read online. Am I at risk? If so, how soon can I get an STI test? The internet is a great tool, but really freaks me out at times. Please let me know. Thanks.
We’ve since been on 1 round of nitrofurantoin and 2 rounds of cipro (first a 7 day and then a 10 day). She’s had no other symptoms but itching. We go back for urine test in am and I’m sure she still has the bacteria as she is itching. All the tests showed either a small amount or moderate amount of blood but all tests were negative for nitrates and leukocytes. The enterococus keeps increasing with each round of antibiotic.
I was tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea on 1/30, because I was experiencing discomfort in the tip of my penis. I took one Cipro pill on 1/30 and 7 days of doxycycline (2 per day 100 mg). As of today, the test results are still not back (Planned Parenthood must use the slowest possible test facilities). I have not had any sexual contact since 1/28 except with myself. I am still experiencing discomfort in the tip of my penis, and today that has turned into an itching sensation.
I went to the doctor after a few days and was prescribed cipro. After about 3 days on Cipro I had a bad sore throat and diarrhea, sore throat went away in 2-3 days and my doctor attributed diarrhea to Cipro. I continued Cipro for 2 weeks and the diarrhea improved after I stopped cipro. After about 15 days of stopping cipro (7 weeks from likely exposure), I started getting skin rash. This skin rash is slightly itchy in small patches over shoulders, trunk, arms and are small patches.
On Tuesday night I began self-medicating with cipro 500mg every 12 hours for about 36 hours. This seemed to clear up my throat issues but I was really fatigued (probably due to the cipro). On Thursday, after getting my negative results results, I still was having some itching burning on the tip of my penis. The same day I obtained azithromycin that same day and took 500mg.

Two days after exposure I went to the urgent care and was tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia. The tests came back negative. I was also finishing a regimen of Cipro at the time for a diarreah - 500mg 2x/day for 3 days. I am worried this effected the tests.
About 10 days after exposure I had some anal itching and blood on toilet paper after using the bathroom, but I did not think too much of this since I have had chafing issues in the past.
I took Cipro twice in 2009, I had rash, itchy and after that I had thighs,legs and buttocks pain with nerve pain. Is that possible from Cipro ? I'm still getting the nerve and legs pain.
I had xray,hiv, herpes, stds and nerve test all came back normal.

A couple of months ago, I was misdiagnosed with a urinary tract infection and was put on 2 weeks of cipro, 1000 mg a day. During my time on cipro, I noticed an intense stomach gurgling that would sometimes persist for hours. I didn't think much of it at the time though. Since coming off of the cipro, I have had abdominal pain, sometimes in the lower left abdomen and sometimes in the lower right abdomen.
So, in July, I received unprocted oral from another man. I was super drunk and it was like 2 or 3 minutes. I didn't ejaculate. I've learned I do not have a risk for HIV but may have risk for other things. I've taken 2 weeks of cipro and flagyl together. 2g Azithromycin and 14 days of doxycycline. I continue to have itching throughout my body and around penis head. Never had discharge. However, I did notice a very small white bump under my penis head. Resembling a pimple.
ve always gotten STD tests and they were always negative before and while having sex with my boyfriend of a year and a half. I started getting symptoms like odor, itching and white discharge after unprotected sex last February and March when we first got together, then I'll go to the doctor, get STD test, came back negative but would have bacteria vaginosis or yeast infection or a urinary tract infection...so fustrating!! That was the routine from last March until now.
