Other topicals that are used to treat Pityrosporum folliculitis are ciclopirox olamine cream, econazole cream, alcohol and salicylic acid solution. Retinoids are not very effective. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with him.

s office but I see a different doctor and I told here this cream is much help and I also showed her my scrotum area which she said right away it was jock itch and that she would give me a different cream. She gave me ciclopirox olamine 30g tube and I've used it since June 28. I'm not sure but what could this be? Jock itch? Herpes? Another skin condition? The pain associated with this is at the least amount during this whole ordeal but I need answers. I've also taken pictures to show.
He told me he didnt see any signs of fungus or yeast, but gave me an antifungal anyways, and told me I have Intertrigo. I am using zeasorb AF powder along with a sparing amount of ciclopirox olamine 0.77% cream The rash has lightened a little, but isnt really "healing" Has anyone ever had a stubborn case of Intertrigo? I am not obese and have never had any problem like this before in my life.

Thanks Grace for the response. I visited my primary doctor again and he said since he does not see blisters now, he still thinks it is yeast infection and the rash that i have now(it is healing now) also looks like a fungal infection and asked me to use "Ciclopirox Olamine Topical cream" for another 10 days and get the blood test IGg and IGM (AB) for Herpes done after that since it will be 6 weeks after outbreak and antibodies should have developed by then if there is an infection.
So about 3 weeks ago, me and my boyfriend had sex. It was quite painful for me and after that i felt burning 'down there'.
The next few days it was incredibly itchy, but my period came so i couldn't go to the hospital.
After my period, i still had that problem down there, it just wasn't as itchy as before. I tried a few off the counter medications but none seemed to work. I went to the hospital and i was told it was a fungus.
I visited my doctor last Monday and he thought it was fungal and prescribed Ciclopirox Olamine Cream 0.77% anti-fungal and 7 x Fluconazole 200mg tablets antibiotic, one per day for seven days. Nothing affected the rashes visibly or stopped it from spreading. Today I went to a friend's hospital laboratory and they took two skin KOH prep skin scrapping done. Samples were obtained from my foot and upper right arm, result was NO yeast and NO fungal elements were detected.
For head treatment, I will use Stieprox shampoo with Ciclopirox Olamine 1.5% w/w which relieves my scalps itching & scaling issue.. a bit expensive but it works for me :)
I think I will continue using this tablets until I get examined by derma specialist.
By the way, is there is any side effects of using this medicine continuously?

I went to the doctor again and he gaved me TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE CREAM USP, 0.1%. After 1 week of using this, my hand looked a lot better, but I dont have cream anymore... and after 2 days the irritation has arrived again. I am really scared. What should i do? every time i wont put cream on my hand it will start the irritation again? its verry ithcy and it also hurts.

I have bumps that has appeared in the hair of my left labia majora. They feel irritated and a little itchy only when my pad or tissue touches them. I've been using antibiotic cream and it's working. I am not sexually active and haven't been since 2014. However, I was diagnosed with fibroids as a result I am bed bound and have to wear pads everyday all day since bleeding is a symptom of fibroids. I have had a rash on my chin (see picture) for about 5 months now. It started out on the right side of my chin. It would come and go randomly without treatment. About a year ago I had some seborrheic dermatitis around my nose and the derm prescribed me Ertaczo (an anti-fungal). That cleared up the rash right away. I went to my primary physician and showed him the rash on my chin mentioning that it looked similar to the rash I originally had around my nose.
Over the summer, I had a case of what I thought was jock itch (only affected the scrotum). My symptoms were a burning, itching sensation on my scrotum, but no rash. I tried to treat with Equate Athlete's Foot Cream or Tolnaftate Cream USP, 1% Antifungal. I probably used the product once a day for 3 to 4 weeks, even though twice a day is recommended for 2 weeks. As you might guess, symptoms improved, but the jock itch remained, especially after I discontinued the treatment.

ve been using an anti-fungual/steroid cream called Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream USP that the doctor prescribed after my recent visit, but the cream seems only mildy helpful despite the fact that I've been applying it daily for the past month because there are still cracks/cuts in the skin.
