Avatar m tn Other topicals that are used to treat Pityrosporum folliculitis are ciclopirox olamine cream, econazole cream, alcohol and salicylic acid solution. Retinoids are not very effective. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with him. I sincerely hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing. Warm regards.
Avatar m tn s office but I see a different doctor and I told here this cream is much help and I also showed her my scrotum area which she said right away it was jock itch and that she would give me a different cream. She gave me ciclopirox olamine 30g tube and I've used it since June 28. I'm not sure but what could this be? Jock itch? Herpes? Another skin condition? The pain associated with this is at the least amount during this whole ordeal but I need answers. I've also taken pictures to show.
Avatar n tn He told me he didnt see any signs of fungus or yeast, but gave me an antifungal anyways, and told me I have Intertrigo. I am using zeasorb AF powder along with a sparing amount of ciclopirox olamine 0.77% cream The rash has lightened a little, but isnt really "healing" Has anyone ever had a stubborn case of Intertrigo? I am not obese and have never had any problem like this before in my life.

Avatar m tn Thanks Grace for the response. I visited my primary doctor again and he said since he does not see blisters now, he still thinks it is yeast infection and the rash that i have now(it is healing now) also looks like a fungal infection and asked me to use "Ciclopirox Olamine Topical cream" for another 10 days and get the blood test IGg and IGM (AB) for Herpes done after that since it will be 6 weeks after outbreak and antibodies should have developed by then if there is an infection.
Avatar n tn So about 3 weeks ago, me and my boyfriend had sex. It was quite painful for me and after that i felt burning 'down there'. The next few days it was incredibly itchy, but my period came so i couldn't go to the hospital. After my period, i still had that problem down there, it just wasn't as itchy as before. I tried a few off the counter medications but none seemed to work. I went to the hospital and i was told it was a fungus.
Avatar m tn I visited my doctor last Monday and he thought it was fungal and prescribed Ciclopirox Olamine Cream 0.77% anti-fungal and 7 x Fluconazole 200mg tablets antibiotic, one per day for seven days. Nothing affected the rashes visibly or stopped it from spreading. Today I went to a friend's hospital laboratory and they took two skin KOH prep skin scrapping done. Samples were obtained from my foot and upper right arm, result was NO yeast and NO fungal elements were detected.
Avatar n tn elidel cream 1% which has been the most amazing cream ive ever used (though i had to pay 350$ for a 100g tube), an anti inflammatory pill that makes the redness go completely away within 30min-1hr, and a RX anti fungal lotion ( ciclopirox olamine topical suspension usp .77% 85$). these things together have given me the GREATEST skin ive ever had. my skin is looks even better than normal with the combination of all three.
Avatar m tn For head treatment, I will use Stieprox shampoo with Ciclopirox Olamine 1.5% w/w which relieves my scalps itching & scaling issue.. a bit expensive but it works for me :) I think I will continue using this tablets until I get examined by derma specialist. By the way, is there is any side effects of using this medicine continuously? Thank you in advanced.
Avatar f tn Hello, everyone. I have had a rash on my chin (see picture) for about 5 months now. It started out on the right side of my chin. It would come and go randomly without treatment. About a year ago I had some seborrheic dermatitis around my nose and the derm prescribed me Ertaczo (an anti-fungal). That cleared up the rash right away. I went to my primary physician and showed him the rash on my chin mentioning that it looked similar to the rash I originally had around my nose.
Avatar n tn Prior the the potential exposure, I was prescribed a topical nail fungus medication (ClearNails Pro) that is fat soluble and claims to penetrate to the nail bed. This medication contains a drug called ciclopirox which was recently discovered to kill hiv infected cells in vitro. The percentage of ciclopirox is 6 percent. 1. Since my fungal medication is fat soluble and contains ciclopirox, will it enter the blood stream in enough concentration to affect the accuracy of an hiv antibody test?
Avatar m tn By the way, I'm using clotrimazole, but I'll try using Ciclopirox or some shampoos.
1337483 tn?1383544183 in 2005 I went to a dermatologist to see about the problem at the time it was only in a certain part of my head, there was just redness and itchyness at first but now its like bumps and when I scratch them (I cannot stop its sooo annoying) they bleed...she gave me doxycyclin and some cream to pt on the area...for a while it worked and I ran out of the meds...It was ok for about two years then it started reappearing but not as bad with the itchiness so I let it go...
Avatar m tn If I do breack out I use a Ciolopirox Olamine Cream @ 77%.This has to be prescribed by a doctor. Again had and have the same identical problem you have.
Avatar n tn I tried lamisil cream for 4 weeks with only a slight improvement and then saw my GP. He prescribed ciclopirox which I used for 5 weeks with maybe 25-50% improvement, but it would occasionally flare and come back just as strong. Went back to the GP and he suggested maybe the fungus was almost gone and that it was more inflammation than anything. To be sure, he prescribed oral ketoconazole for 2 weeks and prescription hydrocortisone.
Avatar n tn The scalp should be washed with a mild normal shampoo as often as desired. Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Apart from that you need topical and oral antibiotics, antihistamines, oral steroids and topical tretinoin. My sincere advice is to get it examined from a dermatologist.
Avatar m tn That was the first sign I have Celiac disease. To treat the problem immediately, avoid scratching because it scars the scalp and hair won't grow. Try Nizoral shampoo to get the skin unclogged and any scales off. Get tested for Celiac disease. You can use any of these to avoid scratching: hydrocortizone 1% cream (I hate the liquid "lotions" that the doctors love), Benadryl gel (very cooling) or even aloe vera gel. Just don't scratch. Stop eating sugary foods and drinks.
Avatar f tn I began to use a petroleum like body cream - that only kept my skin moisturized. The itchiness persisted. Then I tried calamine and it's pretty much all I can use although I have to continue to reapply. The rash has spread to the side of the front of my neck and across the back. A few days ago, my eyelid began to itch too. Now my forehead and right side of my cheek. I purchased T-gel shampoo for my itchy scalp and using the calamine lotion but now it hurts to put on clothes.
Avatar n tn ok so i went to the doctor a few month ago to get these brown spots i have on my stomach and near the underarms. like right under where you grow your armpit hair and above it also. when i went to the doctors they told me that they knew what it was but they couldn't pull up a picture for me. i kinda forgot what she said it was called but then she gave me a prescription for it. it's ciclopirox cream 0.77% .i've been using it ever since i got it but i just noticed that it got worser.
Avatar m tn but my dermatologist said its not necessary prescribed me ketoconazole cream, fluconazole (DIflucan 2 tablets), desonide cream, ciclopirox cream, and nothing has worked. I looked up candida and matched a lot of the symptoms and even did the water spit test and I saw a bunch of strands drooping down to the bottom of the cup. I thought it was candida so I tried the candida diet and bought 50 bill probiotic caps, grapefruit seed extract pills, and caprylic acid pills.
1285444 tn?1271772333 Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Also take some oral antihistaminics like Benadryl. Specific treatment consists of topical and oral antibiotics for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist.

951906 tn?1246287693 I went to a different doctor almost week ago and he said it looked like maybe ringworm but he did not know and prescriped ciclopirox cream .77% two times per day. It has now been about 5 days since I saw him and the once bubbles that just had clear liquid oozing from it (I mean a lot like oozing down my leg) are now filled with pus looking stuff (white pus) but in smaller amounts, but when you pop them a bunch comes out and when you sqweeze my leg a lot comes out. It is so gross.
