For every 50 mg/dl over 150, 2 more units. In a typical day, Between 20-28 units multiple times a day. A1c=7.7 currently. Is Humalog maybe not the right choice if I need such high dosing?
Avatar f tn For example, I know for sure that alcohol and stress have a direct effect, so I assume inflammation plays a part. I do experience a lot of stress but I’ve pretty much given up alcohol completely. I suspect that sugar and inflammatory foods may contribute as well.
Avatar f tn I am a asian living in central Europe. I got sick a bit often lately, so my doctor decided to give me a full blood test. In general, she said the results look ok. Only that my S-aTPO is high and she sent me for an ultrasound, the result of which shows nothing of immediate concerns. Though the doctor ask me to come back for a follow-up checkup in 6 months. Tried many different formulas, soy milk, Lactaid, and various exclusions of different types of foods. She drinks zero juice and minimal fruits. After a while we were referred to a Pediatric Gastroenterologist. He told us that she was not getting enough fat in her diet.

597401 tn?1241268686 I have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome from an event that happened when I was 17, another event compounded it when I was 33, and then another when I was 43. I have been to therapy for it, and have managed it well for the past two decades. (I'm 45, now) I have RSD, and I noticed that when I'm about to flare, I get emotionally agitated. . .irritated. Then the flare hits, and if it's bad, it triggers the PTS.
Avatar m tn I'm a 62 yr-old male. For over 6 years of blood works, my TSH (3rd Gen) number has consistently been <0.01 L. My other blood work numbers are typically good--glucose, cholesterol, et cetera. Several times over these years my doctor has noted this low TSH number and asked, "Do you feel tired?" I have responded, "Yes, I feel like I have chronic fatigue." I am active, a recreational cyclist, but with a life outside of this. He only knows that I ride a bike.

A still-greater commitment in the medical community to awareness, education, and further research on the connection between emotional and physical health is crucial.
1453933 tn?1285260910 While some amount of stress in unavoidable in our lives, trying to minimize chronic stress can really help out with a lot of health issues. Try hard to set aside a few minutes each day to do something that truly relaxes you; reading, hot bath, meditating etc. I like to sing at the top of my voice :-) Sounds trivial, but it might be the best thing you can do!! Good luck to you!!
Avatar f tn //www.heart.org/en/news/2020/02/04/chronic-stress-can-cause-heart-trouble While you don't have high blood pressure now, enough stress over time can lead to it. That can lead to heart attack. Also, when stressed, we sometimes don't take great care of ourselves. We may eat 'bad' food, we may not exercise, we don't sleep. all of this can play a role. Best to control the anxiety.

Avatar m tn Hi agludovic, how are you doing and how is the pain? They are sometimes difficult to diagnose due to vague discomfort and generalized pain over the muscles of the lower leg and are often misdiagnosed as shin splints.

In July I lay down on my couch which is nothing new and I couldn't get back up. Every day since then I have been on at least a 6 out of 10 on a pain scale and done days I am unable to walk and am on 10 out of 10 scale.
