Avatar m tn Any birth control started or stopped, weight loss, tendency for obesity, stress in the three months before the hairloss started, acne, hair where there shouldn't be hair on a female. There are many things to consider. If the hairloss runs in the family, it's possible you just inherited the hormonal imbalance that leads to it. Sometimes this can be dealt with. Hang in there.
574118 tn?1305135284 My mother 58 years old was very slim at her youth. In recent years she became very obese. Being not a doctor, yet i suspected problems with her heart or some water retention.i.e. kidney issues. A few weeks ago she traveled to Europe and caught pneumonia due to hard weather conditions. But that was not a curse since coming back we did x-rays and she got rid of the effusion in lungs and is recovering. Yet the x-rays showed the leftlobe bigger meaning some swelling in the heart.
Avatar n tn I have this shortness of breath.. I blamed it on the PVC's I get.. but discovered I get it when there are no PVC's happening. I had a chemical stress test which showed very little plaque in my artery.. was explained that the test showed a shaded area and wasn't sure whether it was just that or plaque.. Cardiologist said take a baby aspirin and put me on cholestrol med.. livello... my cholestrelol isn't that bad but DR. wants me to get it lower..
Avatar n tn Dear Dr. Tinkelman, (Please forgive the lengthiness of this), I have undergone many tests in hopes of finding a cause for my symptoms. I had a spirometry exactly a year ago. No evidence of restrictive or obstructive lung disease (hallelujah!) but it was noted that I had some curvature indicating "minimal upper airway disease". It certainly doesn't feel minimal and I'm concerned about having or developing a type of chronic bronchitis.
Avatar m tn About a year and a half ago, I started having skipped heartbeats with no history of such, odd lightheaded episodes (even during a normal rate and rhythm), chronic atypical chest tightness, and during certain times, shortness on breath and quick fatigue even with slight exertion. I had a 30 day heart monitor on and nothing showed up during all these symptoms, just the extra beats.

Avatar n tn There is a small portion of obese people that have serious medical conditions that cause obesity or on medication that causes it, however the majority is the reason stated above. Not only do they overeat but its horrible kinds of food. The portions served in American restaurants are sometimes can contain a day and half worth of calories of a healthy serving size for just one meal!!! Think about someone eating that way 3 times a day. No wonder obesity is an epidemic.

Avatar n tn It’s also important to understand that obesity can hamper one’s ability to successfully undergo treatment for this disease, which can be physically and emotionally trying in itself. As a patient with stage two liver disease, it’s also important to achieve and maintain good weight control to minimize fatty liver; this can be harmful as well.
