Avatar f tn //www.heart.org/en/news/2020/02/04/chronic-stress-can-cause-heart-trouble While you don't have high blood pressure now, enough stress over time can lead to it. That can lead to heart attack. Also, when stressed, we sometimes don't take great care of ourselves. We may eat 'bad' food, we may not exercise, we don't sleep. all of this can play a role. Best to control the anxiety.

429326 tn?1282328354 Meet with the proper specialist to evaluate you for stress and/or depression. Then you can bring that information with you to the next neruo appointment. My advice, FWIW. However, I would hesitate to take anti-depressants lightly, just to see how your symptoms respond. Is it not possible that your symptoms are caused by a neurologic disorder, but would still respond to medications that alter brain chemistry?

Avatar n tn Yes, it needs to be done for physical stress such as illness but some people get ill with emotional stress. I needed to stress dose when my mom died - so it does happen and people dose up to travel (TSA!!! LOL) but you need to balance as to do it do that you get enough to keep healthy without going over as too much is damaging. Cortisol is one funny hormone - too much and too little can kill you...
Avatar n tn A few months later after final exams, the fatigue and many other symptoms set in. My first physician thought it was either depression or chronic fatigue syndrome since my blood tests were normal so I decided to try traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The acupuncture and herbs didn't help and I had tried all kinds of things for a long time after that from colon cleansing to vitamin supplements. The only breakthrough I had was from taking a supplement called liposomal vitamin C.

560272 tn?1311350293 OK. Let's talk. The short answer to question in second paragraph is 'yes'. Unrelieved anxiety leads to depression ...the exhaustion and worry and hopeless feelings all part of the package. So glad you posted here. We are all veterans of the anxiety wars, and a supportive bunch. In my case 30+ yrs. of anxiety, finally diagnosis: agoraphobia which I have to work on daily. Really doesn't matter what label we put on it.

Avatar f tn I also have an amazing family was top of my class great friends. Sometimes the expectations can b too much for you... To always have good grades and be happy and friendly. Do u find yourself crying for no reason? Or is it a build up? Also if you have a supportive family let them know what's going on... For me it was the first step to feeling good again... I went to therapy and that really helped. It's been ten years now and i live a very normative life.

Avatar m tn Anti-depressants may be prescribed and over-the-counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) may help provide relief. Stress management is important in treating both headaches and depression. Complementary and alternative methods such as biofeedback and yoga as well as counseling may also help. Have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.

Avatar f tn Anxiety and depression can be a pain in the neck, back, and pretty much everywhere, literally. I suffer from chronic muscle tension, and muscle knots. Flare ups can be quite bad, and last for weeks, months, but I do get some relief. I do not take meds, but my Dr. assured me NOTHING was wrong with me, when I was REALLY hurting last year. To the point where I could barely do much. I focused on the muscle knots and pain so much, it made my anxiety worse.
Avatar f tn Ive lost all my friends because I dont feel like leaving home feeling sick. 3063937 tn?1352422855 I have had depression for 20+ years, and each time I take myself off my anti-depressant, depression comes back. This has happened many times. I have been in hospital, seen psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, etc. But I am still fighting it. I am in good place at the moment thanks to medication. I live in UK so cannot help you with residential care. Here a psychiatrist will recommend a hospital, or people pay a lot to go privately.
