My Lung Doctor recommend a nebulizer with acetylcysteine medication. Immediately, I felt a tightness in my chest and shortness of breath after taking. I googled acetylcysteine and one of the side effects was shortness of breath and tightness of chest. I have an appointment to see my doctor in 2 weeks (retired vet....appointments these days are hard to get) meanwhile I'm wondering if there are others who have experienced this the drug acetylcysteine with the same side effects.
It was coming and going like if I am side tracked or busy its ok or when I first wake up before I am thinking about it its ok. Even right now I feel ok my chest feel tight kinda like a cold but thats it. Then theres moments its really bad but latley its been constence. Anyways my Doc, the ER doc, and my teachers (nursing) all say its anixety does this sound logical to anyone or does it sould like I am dying.
im having pain on my right side under my ribs or on them im not for sure but it hurts bad and it hurts worse in the mornings and at night and a couple times through out the day kinda feels like im hungry but when i eat it feels like i get full faster then i have before it has been going on for about a month now i used to smoke but i dont no more i have quit smoking since i have felt the pain cause i thank it has to do with my lungs i do have Asama but that it i really need help and answers on wh
s going on, but a lot of the palpitations I feel are in the right side right of my chest. I often feel discomfort there and the palpitations seem to be triggered by my right arm position and posture.
I also feel random flare ups of chest discomfort and tightness in the sternum area of my chest, which also seem to trigger pvcs.
Does anyone know what the underlying cause of these symptoms can be? Is it inflammation?
It feels like air is not able to come out of lung and especially on the right side. Right side chest feels always tight(24/7). Left side chest feels tight as well but not as tight as right side.

I am having these symptoms for around 13 years for now and these symptoms getting worse now a days.
Hey all...Has anyone had chest and throat tightness as a side? Is it possibly a sign of worsening anemia? I'm due on Wed to get next labs done. (1 week since last ones that showed a sudden drop in HCT, WBC, and slighly in HGB..) Anemia sides still the same..(Out of breath, heart palpitations, fatigue with minimal activity, occasional dizzies, etc...)...Should I move up lab draw? (Starting week #4...first vl Wed!) I'm confident it isn't a heart attack or anxiety...
It has been always five weeks since I was discharged from hospital now and since then I have developed chest tightness in the central region each time I take a deep breath. I also notice that I now feel tire easily and can't do any strenous work as my chest area feel kind of tight and tender.
The latest x-ray results (two days ago) showed nothing and the nurse told me that my lungs are all clear.

Within a few days of arriving in the UK, I began to experience a mild chest tightness that wouldnt ease with taking asthma inhalers. i suffered with the tightness for about the first 4 weeks of my 5 week hoilday there. it was strange because after 4 weeks of continous tightness, one morning i woke up and it felt as if a large weight had been lifted from my chest and it felt as though i could breath freely and normally as i did in the past. I am a 29 year old who has been having chest tightness for about 3 days with a headache that comes and goes. I went to an urgent care for them to tell me nothing except that my vital signs are healthy, take no xrays, take no blood, etc. They prescribed me an inhaler thinking that it was an allegarine asthma. IT hasn't helped so far. When I work out, it doesn't bother me anymore. I am not short of breath; however, to take a deep breath takes a little more effort.
I was awaken about 5:30 this a.m. by chest pain on right side felt like a spasm. It has continued off and on throughout the day whether sitting standing or laying along with a heaviness in my chest. It worsens when I am laying down. It does seem to radiate to my upper back. I do suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and reflux which I do see a doctor regularly for and do take medication. Is it possible it is inflamation from the rheumatoid?
I am a 24 year old male and have been experiencing tightness in neck, chest, and sometimes shoulder area. The tightness is not painful like I could have a heart attack but more irritating. I had surgery for a hiatal hernia and had laparoscopic fundoplication done and I also have scoliosis. I've been to a chiropractor for my tightness to see if that would help but it just came right back. Wonder if this could be related to my scoliosis.

Are you being treated for the panic disorder? If you aren't, I would strongly recommend getting into some therapy (CBT) to find the root cause of your panic. Once you've identified that, your therapist can give you a great deal of knowledge to understand why you suffer from it and tools to help you overcome it.
Your therapist can teach you various breathing exercises to help when you get that suffocating feeling. They work.
Soon after pain, I started to feel tightness in my chest. It is difficult to explain the tightness. It is not tightness caused by congestion. If feels like my chest is heavy or the muscles are laboring more to suck air into my lungs.
Today the pain in the back feels more like a burning sensation. It also seems like my face is a little swollen.
Any thoughts and help will be appreciated...
tall and currently weight about 130lbs. For the past 3-4yrs I have been having tightness in my chest (on the left side, in the region surrounding the heart). It seems to come on randomly, and seems to be present very often during the day - I notice it more when I am sitting (especially when I hunch). And there are some days when I don't seem to detect it (it is probably there, but I don't notice it).
