Hi I am wondering if any of you have experienced chest tightness, or funny feeling in the pit of your stomach associated with withdrawals. I am on day 6 of a massive decrease in dose (i'm tapering). At about the same time everyday (before I would take the norco) I feel a tightening in my chest. My pulse and blood pressure are fine??? Is this common for withdrawal? What can I do to make it better? I'm trying not to take any ativan for it. Thank you any support will help.
When I was 7 weeks pregnant and 3 days I found out I was pregnant and it came as such a surprise. Towards the end of my 7th week to about 9 or 10 weeks I kept having what felt like pressure on my chest and I was having shortness of breath and felt like I couldn't breathe. I went to the E.R. because I thought that maybe I had developed asthma during my pregnancy. Turns out I was hyperventillating (breathing faster than I had to).
my husband age 49 has has had tightness in his chest for 2-3 weeks now. We went to the ER and they determined his blood tests were normal, lung sounds, blood pressure, pulse, ekg, chest xray and ultrasound of liver,kidneys, gall bladder and aorta all normal. admitted overnight, never could determine cause. He has asthma and family history of heart disease but everything is checking out normal. He is healthy, active and not overweight.
For about 3 months, I have been experiencing chest tightness especially at night. It is worst around 2-4 in the morning. My chest feels tight on the left side. When I put my hand on top of it and apply a little pressure, it feels better. As soon as I take my hand off, it goes back to feeling tight. I am a little freaked out because, of course, when I put my hand on top of the area, I can feel my heart beat so I know it's really close or right on top of my heart.
I do have GERD and dont know if there is any connection between that and the pressure in my head. My doctor has told me the tightness in my chest is just due to the GERD. I have seen a chiropractor twice to adjust my neck in case of pinched nerve or stunted nerve flow to the brain. This hasnt relieved me of my symptoms. PLEASE HELP!
It becomes all the more significant because of your associated symptoms of dizziness. Cardiac pain or chest pain can be felt as a tightness and worsens with activity or exercise. It could be angina, pain due to inadequate supply of oxygen to the heart muscle. This could be more relevant if you are a smoker, are overweight, have a positive family history, are a diabetic and have hypertension. But when in doubt always best to have it checked.
m 20 years old and of last thursday been having head pressure, lightheadness, tightness in chest, sometimes shortness of breath and a heavy feeling. The pressure is right in the middle of my head and sometimes it migrates to behind my noes, eyes and ears. The symptoms seem to come and go on there own. The last three days the symptoms stay a little longer.
I have haven't had chest tightness, but I do occasionally get short of breath. That's from the diaphragm being pushed up. I would say you should call your Dr about the chest tightness. That doesn't sound normal to me.
Up the front of my neck from upper chest on left side there is a great amount of tightness and like stretching feeling with pain and a pressure feeling around my heart and goes up my throat and in and behind my left eye it's a feeling that don't go away it's been like this for a year or so and i've had several tests...
It seems it(tension/tightness/pressure) is happening even when I am not trying to exhale harder. There is a lot of pressure around the throat area as well.
2. When I am inhaling and exhaling, there does not seem to be much lung activity(expansion and contraction). It feels like air is not able to come out of lung and especially on the right side. Right side chest feels always tight(24/7). Left side chest feels tight as well but not as tight as right side.

So please consult your primary care physician who may ask for an EKG or a treadmill test to rule out a cardiac cause for the pain.
33 Year old smoker, You used to be a fairly heavy drinker for 12 years but quit 2 weeks ago and I keep waking up with chest tightness over the last 4 weeks that feels like heavy pressure. I get cold and clamy hands today I had minor electic shock feeling around my heart that came and went for seconds at a time I also was able to bike ride 40 -60 miles a week 4 weeks ago now I cant walk around the block without being out of breath and feel my heart pumping hard and feel like im gonna pass out.
