Avatar f tn Week 1-sore throat, fatigue, weakness, couldn’t get out of bed, chest tightness, slight cough. Went to doctor and was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia and was given doxycycline and steroids. Week 2-got so weak I ended up in the ER. They said it’s just part of the illness and to keep up with antibiotics. On week 2.5 I began vomiting but only a couple times.
Avatar m tn Hello, I am about 6 weeks out of recovery from bronchitis, seemingly from pollutants and/or possibly second hand smoke. The case of bronchitis was fairly severe, and while being tested was also discovered I have a stiff heart (diastolic dysfunction stage II). My doctors have instructed me to keep exercising, however I have found something peculiar and alarming. I can do boxing/kickboxing for 1-2 hours at a time, and I feel great.
Avatar f tn 5mths first diagnosis was asthmatic bronchitis but now my doctor is saying that it may be allergies related. I have had chest tightness, coughing, trouble breathing, fatigue, dizziness and excess mucus. Over the weekend I had very bad chest tightness and could barely breathe. Trip to urgent care had me on my 3rd round of antibiotics and a 6 day tapered medrol pack.

Avatar f tn I had what started out as a cold, then a lingering cough and was started on antibiotics during which I developed chest tightness, shortness of breath and wheezing. I was diagnosed with asthmatic bronchitis, given a breathing treatment and sent home with a prescription for an albuterol inhaler. My doctor never really explained except to say that I had bronchitis which turned into asthmatic bronchitis. I do not have a history of asthma. So what exactly is asthmatic bronchitis?
Avatar m tn Internist stated it was seasonal allergies but the tightness in my chest has never stopped. Has anybody else had this problem? As of Jan 2015, I no longer have hep c 1a with follow up in one year, but I still feel listless.
Avatar f tn A few days later after last dosage I began yellowish post nasal drip and tightness in chest. Urgent care gave me an inhaler and said to take Claritin D. Claritin D cleared me up on day 1 but all congested again on day 2. They gave me a zpack as a backup. Do you think this is something more? Chest still feels heavy not coughing. Should I start zpack or continue Claritin?
Avatar n tn after a long bad cold 2 years ago, i have episodes of throat tightness with a bit of wheezing and slight shortness of breath. i thought allergies were the culpert, and treated this with allergie medication which seem to work until lately.had chest e-ray last year lungs were clear although there were wheezing.any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I would go to the Urgent Care and see what they can do. Possibly a chest x-ray to find out if you have bronchitis or pneumonia. If they find something, they will put you on an antibiotic. Like me, I'm still trying to fight off my bronchitis, and they put me on Zithromax (Z-pack). But I would definitely go to the urgent care or see your PCP first.
Avatar f tn Roughly a week later, started feeling the tightness in my chest again, along with a feeling of heat generating from my core, low fever and incredible fatigue. The chest x-ray showed the pneumonia had returned or never left (?). Again I was given an antibiotic shot and this time, Levaquin and Sulfamethoxazole. I have been on this for 3 days now. The fatigue and fever are still there, the tightness in my chest is gone. I am otherwise, a healthy 46 year old female.
1485281 tn?1287948392 Hi I am a 57 year old female. Two weeks ago I woke up with pain or tightness in my chest and very shortwinded. I had been cleaning up the day before and was exposed to allot of dust. I thought maybe it could be a combination of the dust and anxiety as I was going to visit my family for the Thanksgiving Holidays but it has been getting worse and I have it everyday. I especially get the pains when I am doing things like vacuming or lifting heavy objects.
Avatar m tn I have absolutely no cough, no tightness in chest, it doesnt wake me up at night, it seems to get worse when I think about it... like at the grocery store or the gym. Its constantly on my mind tho, so its hard to gauge. It didnt come in gradually, one day I could breathe, then I got sick, and the difficulty breathing never went away after my cold was gone. I got a PFT, and the guy that ran it said "I bet its chronic bronchitis"... I don't think he was even a doctor!
Avatar n tn It started off as a minor sore throat, nothing that really bothered me and a bit of a stuffy nose. Within two days both of those were replaced with chest congestion, tightness, and a wet cough producing green phlegm. Now its been about 5 days of wheezing and this cough i can feel the congestion deep down in my lungs. When i breathe i can feel the phlegm and mucus and i wheeze when i exhale. It is usually worse at night before i go to sleep. Im not quite sure If i should go see my doctor.
Avatar n tn I have just started having chest tightness, and coughed 1 bb sized clear gel. I have had chest x-ray, pulmanary function test, stress test, EKG. all are negitive normal. I am concerned as the chest tightness/pain, shortness of breath is not going away, and some times seems worse. Every thing I find on internet seems all the same with no answer from DR. I have not smoked for 19 1/2 years and smoked for 20. Have you found anything else out?
Avatar f tn In the past I’ve had chest tightness that came anytime the seasons switched. I live in GA so that’s pretty much once or twice a year. In the past week after eating out it’s become unbearable nothing like the mild ones I experienced before where I went to the my primary care immediately but my chest X-ray was negative for anything as well as EKG. I also just went to the ER and received a breathing treatment which helped but didn’t completely solve my problem.
Avatar m tn s been 6 weeks since his last cig. He has had horrible withdrawal symptoms. Chest pain, tightness in chest, irregular heartbeats, dizziness, numbness in arm and the list goes on. He has been to the emergency room 3 times and has had ECGs and x-rays and blood tests done. All come back fine. He believes there is something terribly wrong. I keep telling him it's just his withdrawal symptoms and I do believe that's all it is.
Avatar n tn Do you think tightness of chest, some trouble breathing and lightheadedness could be an asthma symptom? This discussion is related to Symptoms after eating/light/noise (lightheaded, difficult swallowing, tingling).
Avatar f tn For the past month, I have on 5 separate occasions woken up with a high fever (102+), with lower back pain and a tightness in my chest that makes taking a deep breath or sigh impossible. I have been taking some Ibuprofen and trying to get back to sleep, and when I do and wake up in the morning the fever has gone. I did see a doctor the first time this happened, and was tested for strep because she saw some inflammation in my throat. Strep test was negative.
Avatar m tn 5 cigs. a day. 2 months earlier I started feeling tightness and fullness in my chest and throat that was very bothersome even when am at rest it used to occur and may last for a whole day sometimes accompanied by an elevated heart rate but there was never any shortness of breath. I went to the ER a couple of times all they did was an EKG which was always normal and they said its nothing.
Avatar n tn Immediatly began blowing up, dry mouth, tightness in chest....This is making working almost impossible for me and truly stressing me out. Prior to Dec.15th, I was healthy, perfect weight & always going to the gym or riding my bike. What is wrong with me? Beginning to think this will never go away.
Avatar f tn History: Asthma, taking albuterol & have been prescribed Advair in the past. Recurrent bronchitis. 2001 - Hemoptysis diagnosed through bronchoscope as cryptococcus infection, treated with fluconazole(sp) for 6 months. 2 years worth of follow xrays showed clear chest. Oct 2008 - underwent cardiac stress test & ct scan for chest tightness, heart OK but they did find a small 5-6mm nodule in the mid anterior left lung. Scheduled for 6 month follow up ct.
Avatar f tn after a few days of taking the med I start to experience itchiness, tightness, pressure inside my chest, like the sensation that something is in there. This continues until about 2 weeks after finishing the antibiotic. The doctor's don't know what this is and said it shouldn't be an effect of the medication. I have actually had chest x-rays twice while experiencing this & they monitored my pulse/oxygen level and all came back normal.
Avatar m tn There are other causes for these symptoms in a 23 year old person (and I do not mean cancer) and you will need to have a chest X-ray and a good physical exam of your lungs.
Avatar m tn Right now i cough up mucus usually white, sometimes yellow mixed with it. My chest has a tightness to it and it feels sometimes a bit uncomfortable in my chest. I am wheezing, i am a smoker but i have been trying to cut back since i got sick. My chest however hurts really bad when i cough, but i think this is due to coughing as much as i have. Everyone else in the house is feeling better and still has a slight cough but i seem to be keeping sick.
Avatar n tn I was a smoker some 20 years ago, Iam 54, I recently had a sinus operation and in the convalescence I picked up the pharyngitis virus, as a result of my recovery I developed a cough and tightness in my chest and they made the diagnosis. They say that the present weather conditions of very cold have affected me and brought my problem to the surface. Will I recover when the weather gets warmer and will I resume my normal life?
Avatar f tn ve never had an asthma attack but I sometimes have wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath, but my dad says if it was asthma then I would've had an attack by now. What could it be?
Avatar m tn Recently (about a month or so ago) I tried to start again, and noticed that I was feeling tightness in my chest while doing pushups or any exercises with my head bent over, or where I had to bend over. Last year I had an echocardiogram done because my doctor heard a palpitation during a routine checkup. Afterwards, in the next school year, during september, I had another echocardiogram done and a stress test. All the tests came back clean.
