280234 tn?1532986249 I was wondering if any other young adults have been diagnosed with colon polyps? I'm a 34/f who was recently diagnosed with a 1.1 cm "Tubulovillous adenoma" during a colonoscopy (was seeing blood/mucous in stool for about 6 months). The lab report came back that it was benign, and my GI doctor said follow up with him in 3 years. From what my GI doctor told me, and what I've read about these, they are considered precancerous. Following up in 3 years makes me nervous.
788664 tn?1236736757 It is very rare for someone your age to be having true, heart realted , chest pain. Chest pain is caused when the heart muscles does not receive a blood supply. This is generally due to coronary artery disease which is found in adults (and can cause a heart attack) or something like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy where the walls of the heart are so thickened they lose their blood supply. This disease is sometimes seen in young people, but if you had this at your age, you would know by now.
Avatar f tn The chest pain could be related to heart vessel spasm. This condition wouldn't be picked up with a test unless it occurs at the time. You should monitor your heart activity and try and capture the event to rule out a heart problem. There is a condition that occurs with young adults and it is called Precordial Catch Syndrome (PCS). Can you rule out PCS? It manifests itself as a very intense, sharp pain, typically at the left side of the chest, which is worse when taking breaths.
Avatar m tn High fever can be a symptom of infection or septicaemia.Hypotension, hypovolaemia, angina all can cause chest pain. Since she is unable to walk a portable X-ray chest may be helpful. Blood tests and blood culture may be helpful. She may need a course of antibiotics and other management based on the clinical examination findings and test results. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
526311 tn?1229286330 anyone out there young like me? being an addict (especially pain pills) is getting so common for young adults like myself.
Avatar f tn The former, you are way to young for that to be a problem and the latter, you would have known about that by now, if it was bad enough to cause chest pain in you. As far as the murmur goes, many people, as adults, still have the murmur that they were born with. All babies are born with a functional murmur which generally, but not always, goes away after the first one or two years of life.
Avatar f tn Is it normal finding white appearenc of the retina in young adults?
Avatar m tn But the pain i feel in my chest is quite painful to the point where im having trouble sleeping. There are days when my legs feel weak and i dont feel like i can do the things i usually do on the court. I also tend to wake up with a numb arm. Anybody know whats going on? please help. thank you.
Avatar f tn The reason for that is because there is a lack of bloodflow to the heart muscle walls. Cardiomyopathies are a prime reason for chest pain in the young. If you had those types of heart problems, your life as a child would have been robbed from you, for the most part; in other words, your parents would have known there was a real problem going on.
Avatar m tn The condition is studied and described in two clinical forms. The first (the rarer among the two), occurs in children and young adults presenting with severe anaemia, with superficial involvement limited to the mucosa and a nodular pattern. The second occurs in adults with symptoms of chronic inflammation and motility issues. Management is similar in both cases consisting of anti-inflammatory/ immune suppressive therapy and prognosis is variable.
Avatar n tn ST segment elevation is usually attributed to impending infarction, but can also be due to pericarditis or vasospastic (variant) angina (chest pain). In some healthy young adults, a form of ST elevation can be normal. There are a number of non-cardiac conditions, medication, electrolyte imbalance, etc. that are benign that cause ST elevation as well. I agree with mammo you should consult with a doctor before any exercise regimen.
Avatar f tn I'm still suffering from a viral infection which gave me typical cold symptoms with pain in my right shoulder and neck , a swollen sore throat and a productive chesty cough. After two weeks I was prescribed, over the phone, Doxycycline antibiotics which haven't helped. It's been three weeks now and I'm still coughing up mucus and have been told I have infection in the base of my lungs. I couldn't say if the mucus was clear or had blood in it as I'd been swallowing it.
Avatar m tn it is as if a vise is closing around the chest. The other symptoms are pain in the left arm and pain even in the neck area to raised pulse, sweating and dizziness these all can be an anxiety attack as well. But the pain in the chest like a steel band is being tightened seems to be the deciding factor that speaks of a heart attack.Im not sure of the intensity of your pain.
Avatar n tn Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined as a confirmed diagnosis is not possible on net. Take care!
Avatar f tn I have been having horrible chest pain for four years now and it feels like knives stabbing into my chest. At first it was only on my left side and would last a couple of seconds to an hour. Now it has obviously gotten much worse at will last up to two days at a time, and ocassionally on my right side as well. When this happens I generally have a pain that is also in my left shoulder - same feeling just like a knife stabbing me.

Avatar m tn It usually lasts a few minutes and then goes away. I dont have any other symptoms other than sharp chest pain, pain in my jaw, and left arm. What could this be? Is it possible to have a heart attack at 25?
Avatar f tn I have been having chest pains over the past couple of hours. It has been a steady pain....(7-7.5 on a scale of 1-10)... I've had a little bit of pain in my shoulder as well...What could be causing this? I am 5'8" and I weigh 260. I do have high blood pressure and asthma, (i take Lisinopril and Albuterol for those). My BP has still been running high, although I was just switched to Lisinopril from Propranolol 4 days ago. Should I go to the ER?
