Avatar f tn Chest pain and anxiety attacks go hand in hand for nearly all of us...........but chest pain that does not go away soon after the anxiety attack should be evaluated by a doctor. I would say it's NOT normal and you really need to see your doctor to rule out an organic reason for the continuing pain. Please let us know what you find out, OK?
Avatar f tn m going through, and went through last night...right down to the old xanax. I had the same pain right at the bottom of my sternum, and also some pain just to the left of that area. Does thinking about the pain make it worse with time? Mine did, and I did the exact same thing you did...it eventually went away because the xanax knocked me out. (best sleep aid in the world I think) If you have gastritis like I do...
Avatar n tn My indigestion gives me horrible chest pain. Hiatus hernias can cause chest pain. Your doctor should rule out all physical possibilities and then get to work controlling that anxiety. Good luck!

Avatar m tn He gave me a prescription for Xanax and said to take one and the pain should go away in 30 minutes. He believes that it is stress. I am a little nervous to start taking a stress medication and still feel that it is something heart related. Any advice?
430580 tn?1217533429 I was oringinally put on xanax, along with Lortabs for severe chest pain that was un diagnosed. I didnt realize what xanax origanlly was in the beginning. I have been on it now for 5 years. I started out at 1mg 3x a day, and now I have started taking more because the origanlle amount seems to not work anymore. Now, I realized that I am physically addicted to this medication and have tried many many times to get off. I have tried to go cold turkey, and I have tried to ween myself off.
1348086 tn?1370783185 Do you have a history of reflux or indigestion problems with certain foods? Often as we get older, foods that we could eat with no trouble now begin to bother us. Fried foods are pretty close to the top of that list. Sometimes if we are experiencing acid reflux or indigestion, changing positions can do one of two things. It can help relieve the uncomfortable sensation by giving our stomachs more room so that the acids are not forced upwards or they can do the opposite........
Avatar f tn The leg pain has pretty much went away but the chest pain persists so the leg pain was obviously not related. The chest pain has been going on for so long now that I guess in some ways I'm getting used to it but it is still really frightening for me. It is really affecting my quality of life and making every day miserable. I'm scared to be alone because I'm afraid I will have a heart attack and not be able to call for help.
Avatar f tn After doing so he says that his legs went numb and as the numbing sensation traveled up his legs, a pain crashed into his chest, and he was rushed to the ER. We already figure the blunt was laced with something else, but now my uncle has been dealing with the chest pain. The only thing that makes the pain go away is Xanax. He is paying a friend 70 dollars a month just to please his addiction and make the pain go away. As time has went on he has been having a hard time breathing.
12290187 tn?1424484267 Iv been taking 2mg xanax for 15 years but now im having rapid heart beats 'trouble breathing and chest pain so my dr put me on a blood pressure pill called inderal and now my symptoms are 100% worse and the dr just says ull be fine but all he cares about is money not me and all the drs are the same
Avatar n tn t go away until I got them checked out, developed a more positive attitude about the situation and learned to ignore them. Headaches, chest pain, throat pain and now fingertip sensitivity. I wish I could just learn from these experiences and not think each time that this new symptom is a real issue. It is pathetic actually. There are so many people out there with real problems and I keep manufacturing them.
2085202 tn?1373199740 Have been on lorazepam and cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxers then have been taking them rather frequently but still following the proper dosage instructions. Started getting respitory depression think I almost died....stopped breathing in sleep...lungs seemed depleted yet constricted...weak in the diaphragm. Went off it now and now feeling what seems almost like heart attack symptoms.
Avatar f tn I think I read about it somewhere. I had some pain in my left chest area and my left hand goes numb and it will be paining. It is not exactly numb but I feel so. Previously when I started taking it my dizziness will go after an hour I wake up. I dont know whether this is confusion or dizziness. I am pretty sure that this is confusion. I have many concerns about my sleep. Please dont mind and reply me quickly as soon as possible. With these symptoms is it OK if I stop taking xanax.
Avatar m tn Im a 24 yr old male, 205lbs, 6ft, cholesterol 245. I'm a very inactive person for about 4 years now, and I noticed that I can minor activities and be winded and have a fast heart rate that I can feel without putting my hand on my chest, and I also can feel it in my throat and everywhere else where you can feel your pulse. 1351082 tn?1479840132 I was addicted to Xanax and Opiates, I was taking them for about ten yrs I tried many times to get off them myself but of course it didnt work. I ended up in rehab for 3 months and I have been clean for ten months now, my only problem is I am still having a horrible burning tightness in my chest and I feel my heart pounding all the time 24/7. My Drs have checked everything and they all seem to think its because of the xanax I had been on for so long.
Avatar m tn I still had problems breathing, dizziness, some pain in the chest but the Xanax seemed to make it subside and at least I could sleep. These problems caused me a lot of depression and I got very down about my situation. I felt like I was going crazy and the doctors just couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and I was afraid that I would drop dead. I was a bit overweight and still working a lot.

Avatar m tn I was able to hold down the suboxone today, but I keep getting this awful pain across the lower part of my chest right under sternum area. Does anyone else get this? It is horrible,I can barely breathe and of course I get the bad anxiety with it. Just 10mins ago my neighbor got his pain pills and he owed me money just $100,but he asked if I wanted 15 blueberries instead. Twice today I was offered. I saw them and got that euphoric memory and said no I will take the money.

2036337 tn?1337104009 I've blahs anxiety for two years now and I've had every test in the book, EKGs, Chest X-Rays, Blood work, Ct scans -- everything came back fine. I felt like I was finally doing okay until a few days ago the chest pain came back and it's so scary. I know my heart it fine after so many tests, but I'm flying across the country tomorrow and I think it's why I feel so sick. Chest pain, shortness of breath -- has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar f tn He/she should have told you to call your doctor immediately. Any time there is chest pain involved, it should never be ignored. Benadryl WILL make you sleepy, but it sure won't save you from a heart attack. I realize I may be scaring the daylights out of you. I don't think you had a stroke or a heart attack. You may have had an allergic reaction to the Lexapro, which then set off the alarms for panic and one of the most common symptoms of panic is chest pain.
2036337 tn?1337104009 Hi, I'm 21, and I've been dealing with anxiety since January. I am completely terrified all of the time, and I just don't know what to do anymore... I've been having severe chest pain, arm pain, jaw pain, headaches... you name it, I've had it. The chest pain is what concerns me the most, but I can't seem to shake it. I've had multiple EKGs, bloodwork, Chest X-rays, everything... and the doctors all say that it's anxiety.
232264 tn?1191248480 My prescription was for anxiety caused by chest pain.
