chest

Avatar f tn Ok so it's been a week that I've been having horrible heartburn, my chest hurts extremely bad it's hard to breath I also feel like there is something literally stuck in my throat!! I have tried zantac but it seems not to work at all has anyone had this before and what did u do to make it go away?
Avatar f tn This nerve stimulation results most commonly in heartburn, the pain that is characteristic of GERD. Heartburn usually is described as a burning pain in the middle of the chest. It may start high in the abdomen or may extend up into the neck. In some patients, however, the pain may be sharp or pressure-like, rather than burning. Such pain can mimic heart pain (angina). In other patients, the pain may extend to the back.
4536442 tn?1358820448 Yeah I get heartburn and its a different feeling unusually get heartburn in the evenings it just feels like I've pulled a muscle since years ago I strained the right side of my chest, thanks for your comment though :) :)

187666 tn?1331173345 Is there a way to tell the difference between typical chest pain vs. pain in the esophagus. Usually when I get what I call chest pain, it happens suddenly upon exertion and feels like someone put my heart in a vise, deep squeezing pain. It stops pretty quickly if I stop moving. The past few days (and right at this moment) I'm getting this dull ache right down the middle from my throat to the middle of my chest. Makes me cough and I have a bit of a headache.

2089807 tn?1348062748 Im 31 weeks pregnant and earlier all of a sudden I got severe chest pain, in my upper chest like right at the top of my boobs. Its mostly on the right side but when I breathe deep it spreads to the left side. It hurts to breathe and I feel like I cant hardly breathe. Its.eased up a little but now feels sore, even hurts to the touch. What could be causing this? Im also having severe heartburn and my son is going crazy in my ribs. Has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar f tn ive had chest pain the past couple of weeks and it's getting worse. I do have asthma, but not bad. And that's not the type of pain in my chest. And the pain gets worse if I bend over the pick up something or lift thing. Also if I take a deep breath.
Avatar n tn Nitroglycerin can also relieve esophageal spasm, it's not reliable for differential diagnosis of cardiac vs GI origin for chest pain. I've been through this recently myself and don't have any answers either. Nitro (sublingual) sometimes helped and sometimes didn't. Then on Friday I had a stress echo, my second in six months, again definitely negative. I'm also on Prevacid so my cardiologist doesn't think it's GI related but he also doesn't think it's cardiac.
Avatar f tn Is it normla to feel pain in my throat/chest. Now its nit acid reflux i know what taht feels like. It hurts to swallow even water.
Avatar f tn I woke up at about 4 in the morning with horrible chest pain right between my boobs and was up for at least 2 hours. It felt like my breast plate was ripping apart while simultaneously sinking in, making it hard to breathe. I found that it didn't hurt as bad while I was sitting up as it did when I was lying down. Googled it and it seems to be either heartburn from hell or my rib cage expanding to make room for the baby and organs. Has anyone else experienced this??
Avatar f tn After I have been sleeping for the night and I wake up, I have chest pain in my sternum area. It hurts when I move my arms to stretch my chest. It hurts when I breath deep breaths. This happens every morning when I wake up. Should I be worried? Is this common? Any possible explanations?
1180004 tn?1264466754 My symptoms are chest pain, it sometimes moves to my arm but then goes away I get so scared but everyone tells me its nothing just heartburn but does heartburn really stay with you everyday all the time? Ok so it hurts but its a pain that i can stand but its just irritaing not knowing what is wrong. When I was younger and when i would go to the doctors office they would tell me i have high blood preasure and i would start to control it but sometimes it would get high anyway.
Avatar f tn Ive had chest pain on and off radiating sometimes to both upper arms. also shortness of breath at times and fatigue. also some flu like symptoms. when I rest I get much better. but it doesn't go away completely and in the last few days it has been worse than ever. I woke up with heartburn which is strange because I never get indigestion. I am not sleeping well which is also unusual. I have normal blood pressure and I am not overweight. My total cholesterol is in the low 200s.
Avatar f tn The chest pain could be from the heartburn, actually. I mostly take tums for heartburn, but you don't want to take too much. If it's really bad, talk to your doctor about something to reduce acid production (tums just deals with the acid once it's produced). I can't remember what it's called, but you take one pill twice a day. I took it for awhile, it's safe for pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I’m unaware of any direct connection between chest pain and HCV. Some folks do develop GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) as a result of treatment, and Prilosec is a first line defense for that. If you don’t think it’s GERD (reflux), I’d keep looking. It’s good you got checked at ER; it must have been pretty serious to want to wait in line in ER. Does your chest still hurt?
Avatar f tn It could be heartburn/ acid reflux, or even anxiety. Best to call your Dr and be safe.
Avatar m tn hi- I have done some research on pcos and ovarian cyst and how they can mimic regnancy symptoms like headaches, bloating, sore/swollen breasts, cramps, back ache...that's what i found via google lol but only those symptoms.. what about discharge (yeallow/creamy white), veins prominent on stomach and chest (i know i'm not making this one up cos i wasn't looking for it..i just took my top off one day and i went holy ****! i'm a road map!
Avatar m tn You could be Anemic, as well, which is low red blood cell in the body which decreases the amount of oxygen to the bodies organs, cells, and tissues, and can cause many symptoms if left untreated, such as fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, and pale appearance of skin, mucus membranes, and nail beds. Severe anemia can cause fainting, dizziness, angina, chest pain and heart attack.
Avatar n tn sounds like heartburn or esphogus irritation/ could be hiatal hernia or beginnings of an ulcer/ see a doctor
Avatar f tn I been having a chest pain for three days, but it usually pain for 2 hours. Although i have experience these pain before from the past, it usually come and go. But today i have a hard time to digest food, and my stomach feel weird. My whole body is working fine, legs and arm are both function normal, it just that my chest is feeling pain and my body is not digesting food today. So i don't know what is going in on. Please let me know what this is, thank you.
Avatar f tn As an RN I can safely say you can have all the symptoms and it b heartburn, majority of chest pain that presents to hospital isn't cardiac, u can try a mix of xylocaine and gaviscon (look up pink lady recipe) u should follow up with a doctor though to make sure, unless you've had bloods and an ECG they can't really tell
Avatar f tn If the chest pains have you in tears I would call your doctor and let them know. Sometimes heartburn will mimic chest pain also, it could be a lot of things.
Avatar f tn For the last year I have had these sharp stabbing pains in my left breast. I thought it might be heartburn so I took over the counter heartburn meds. plus I started eating healthy and excising. I have stopped eating before bed and stopped eat food that might trigger the episodes. The pains have not stopped but they haven't gotten worse either. I don't have any other symptoms other then the sharp stabbing for a few seconds. What could be the cause of my pain?
