Avatar f tn I was walking down the hall and hugged her. I felt something pop in my chest and then had blinding pain. I was able to go down on my knees and lay her down. The pain is bad if I move at all it hurt to take a deep breath. I did heat and wrap last night with 2 Vicodin. Had a really hard time sleeping every time I moved it woke me up. It seems a little better with a wrap today. How do I know if I need to go in?
1733249 tn?1310306565 I have pain in my center chest. The sternum is painful (mostly all the time)and hurts to push on it. I also have slight stomach and under ribs pain. LOTS of belching and a bloated feeling. Went to ED and they did blood work, ekg, etc. I am under lot of stress at the moment. This seems to me to be a stomach and or esophogus issue. I have been taking prevacid for years and never had this problem before. Last night I took a vicodin and it felt much better.
Avatar n tn Also..were u snorting them...that rush can cause chest pain...but u r right..panic attax can make ur chest tight as well...not something to fool around with and should be checked...no...never happened to me but i was a low volume high frequency user...small doses every few hours...
Avatar f tn Maybe you are used to the chest pain due to the anxiety, but the combination of the other symptoms with the chest pain is something that should be medically looked at ASAP. Please call your doctor, due to HIPPA rules he cannot disclose any information to anyone but you. See how he can help and what advice he will give. Maybe if he sees you one time, he can guide you and assist you with some medications to take the edge off. I wish you all the best and stay safe.

Avatar n tn i had a tooth extracted two days ago but the same pain is still there even with vicodin any suggestions
Avatar n tn I had a 2 level lumbar fusion on 1/15/08, i've been on vicodin 10/500 since then, i took 2-3 per day. Last week i started 5/325 vicodin 1 everyday. I walk 1 mile everyday and my back is stronger,my pain level is probably 2-3 now. I decided i didn't need the vicodin, i would only take it if I had to. Well, I stopped on saturday and by monday i had palpitations, chest pain, nausea,I thought i was having a heart attack.
Avatar f tn Well, I'm on day 1 cold turkey but I cut down on taking vicodin for thr past 2 days. I've been to detox before for percocet I was taking about 30 pills a day of 10/325. For almost 3 years I was clean for 4 months and I tired to refill my vitamins on line and I saw I had a refill on my vicodin from before. I really don't know what made me refill them. After everything I went through. All the pain mental and physical. Being away from my kids while I was in detox. I'm so stupid.
Avatar m tn Given that your liver enzymes are high, I would use the vicodin cautiously and contact your doctor and explain that the vicodin makes your symptoms worse. Did the doctors do an ultrasound on your organs, especially the gall bladder? If so, did everything check out okay? Lastly, there are other pain medications that your doctor can prescribe that doesn't have tylenol within it to see if your symptoms improve. I wish you the very best and I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn The first time this happened, the pain was not as bad and was focused mainly in my chest, right in the center between my breasts, with some pain radiating through my abdomen. Last night though when I woke up, the sharp pain went through my entire torso- shoulders to groin. I stumbled to the bathroom feeling like I was going to puke all over the floor to take some vicodin I had left over from my knee surgery last year.
Avatar f tn Tramadol and Vicodin are both pain relievers and ARE ment for the same thing. They just work differently. Mickey: if you are comfortable with the Tramadol then please stay with it. UIse it as prescribed (which I know you will) because of the possible side effects that can occure after stopping the medication. Dylan: Please stop worrying. Stress from worring can lead to more pain. The body is complexed and one thing can lead to another.
Avatar f tn The surgery went fine, I woke up and was discharged with the usual instructions and ten Vicodin. Overall recovery has gone well, had no problems urinating, sore throat and gas pains are already gone, incisions barely hurt. But, through my neck, jawline, shoulders and upper chest and back, the skin is tender to the touch as if it is bruised (it isn't). Is this normal after surgery? Could it be a side effect of the pain medicines?
Avatar m tn He is not a cry baby and I know he had to be in a lot of pain to even go. They ran a CT scan...Blood work..EKG and chest XRay. All seemed ok. He was prescribed Nortriptylene and Xanax. The Xanax seemed to help him a lot but drowsy. When he saw his primary Dr 6 days later, he said absolutely not on the xanax The other ok. I was wondering if vicodin was safe to take for someone with that kind of stroke. Does it help your wife? and what strength does she take?
221723 tn?1222048147 Panic attacks can cause chest pain as well...but any type of chest pain should always be evaluated by your doctor as it can be a dnagerous symptom as well. call and get a work up from ur doctor asap...

Avatar m tn Hi, I am a 22 year old male and have been experiencing bad chest tightness and dyspnea for a while now. It began very minor and then grew worse and worse over the past few years. I have been to many doctors but I feel as though someone is missing something. I also went to a psychologist and nothing was found that would cause these symptoms. I have seen pulmanology, cardiology, GI, ENT, Neuro, Internal. And still no diagnosis. I have been put on many medications but nothing is helping.
Avatar m tn Ive been using Vicodin/Lortabs for the past 5 yrs now, nearly every other day. Needless to say, Im addicted to the damn things. Just recently, the past 6 months or so, Ive been having sharp chest pains and trouble breathing. I feel an intense amount of pressure around my heart in the direct center of my chest, running up and down the sternum. They go away if I lay off of the medication for a week or so, but I get them back every time I take them, and they gradually keep getting worse.
4768456 tn?1358921474 Oh boy where do I start. I have tooth pain, I have back pain (large chest) I have kidney pain, I have horrible migraines, not to mention because of my kidney disease I have RLS so my legs become very painful at night mostly. So yea. There ya go. I have been taking them for about 3 years now on and off for pain. btw.
Avatar n tn I have multiple medical problems that require pain meds or I would not be able to get out of bed. My pain specialist says its ok but my OB doctor wants me to quit taking it not because it harmful but because its addictive. If I could change OB doctors I would but I can't. He didn't even ask me how much pain I live with on a daily basis. I have been researching Vicodin and pregnancy and have found both answers.

Avatar n tn yes, percocet is a class 2 narcotic and vicodin is a class 3. Percocet is an oxycodone with tylenol, and vicodin is a hydrocodone with tylenol. If ever you need a refill you can't have a doctor call in a class 2. Both are addictive equally...
Avatar f tn (yeah i know working on it) i have had chronic upperand lower back pain , front thoat / neck pain, front to sides chest / rib pain..... if i lay on my stomach i feel sharp pains in my back and throat... they are no always present bur they are there. ot is the same with ribs and chest i have sever pains that come and go but are intesne and leave behind soreness ( i have started to move aroung less because of it and have basically stopped excersizing).....
Avatar m tn in another state used to prescribe vicodin for my pain and it worked well. I would take 1-4 a day. Sometimes none at all. It would all depend on my pain. We are military and we moved and now the new Dr is trying me out on Lryica. It just doesn't work and I can't function well on it like I could when i was taking vicodin. How do I just ask for the vicodin without being judged by my Dr.? Do i just say that's what works?
Avatar n tn Thanks so much for your input. Yes, he will have decisions to make. He has been on pain medication (vicodin) to help, but, it's ongoing. And, it was the grinding that he was feeling that lead to the chest xray... so, sounds like he'll have to have new sternal wires.
