Common Questions and Answers about Chest pain questions

chest

Avatar f tn Hi, I am 17 years old. I have, for about 6 months, been experiencing periodic chest pain. It's not severe pain and I'm not sure if it's just related to school and how stressful it is. Also, when I get anxious, my chest starts hurting and my fingers and arms sometimes go numb. My family has a history of heart disease and my mother has had a heart attack four years ago. I don't know if I am just being worried over simple anxiety or if it's something serious.
Avatar m tn this could be pluerisy, you'll need to see a doctor for treatment, or just a trapped nerve, see your doc
Avatar f tn Go to the doctor.Stop asking general people about this, you are the one feeling this thing of "pains in my chest". It may be as simple as "gas" or it maybe something like chest wall inflammation. Make an appointment with your family doctor, or go to an urgent care. Worry over past months is not worth the risk of getting help.Joan.
Avatar f tn I recently had very bad chest pains and consulted a doctor who wanted to give me an injection on the chest, which I refused.the pain felt like something was choking and at the same time I had tterrible backpain and headache.I went to a 2nd doctor who gave me painkillers but couldn't diagnose me.could it be a heart condition?
Avatar n tn After 3 more months , then I started having constant chest pain and I started having bursts of tachycardia. I wore a 30 day monitor and it showed possibly an SVT. Nobody is paying much attention to my chest pain though, but truthfully the chest pain feels like the crux of my problems..it's bothering me more than anything because it's near constant..
Avatar f tn I have nerve damage on my leg and sometimes pain is so bad that I take tylenol with codine to sleep. Last night I took the pills at 11 pm and around 1am I woke up with chest pain. The pain was across my whole chest and extended to the back. I also felt nausia. I do have a valve that do not close all the way. But my heart beat wasn't fast or faster that normal. Sometimes I have pain in jaws and also on my right shoulder. Could those symptoms be sign of heart atack?
Avatar f tn i am now 34 but from the time i was about 16 or so i have had left sided chest pain as if my heart wanted to explode. sometimes it was mild other times it was severe. i remember once during my afternoon nap it came on sudden and intense. i just braced myself for the end. i was really scared and there was no one who would take me seriously so i said nothing. i am slim but not underweight and it tends to happen if i gain extra pounds. whoever i tell ignores it even the doctor.
420469 tn?1217647363 PS, I should specify that the second time, it was lower than the chest. The pressure/pain was actually around where the bottom ribs are. I do still have some discomfort, but it's like yesterday, where it's just an annoyance, not anything causing fear or pain.
Avatar m tn Every now and then, i will have random chest pains, and then i will black out, but not completly to where i fall down unconscious. Its a really wierd sensation. Once i start blacking out, my head goes numb, then my arms, and it just keeps going down my body. sometimes it stops before i lose control of my legs, other times it doesnt and i just fall. I have been to the hospital and primary doctor, and they cant find anything wrong with me.
Avatar n tn last night i felt alot of pain in my left side of my chest and the pain increases with mov't and breathing so i thought this is anew problem coz the side is above the heart or may be the heart its self so that i need ur advice.....

Avatar f tn Several months ago I felt pain (it wasn't really strong) in my chest bones. My chest bones usually do stick out a little (something me and my sister got from our dad) but now I think they stick out even more than usual. My main concern is this pain I have, I can't really locate it, sometimes it's in my bones above breats, sometimes it's somewhere between bones. I googled it (I know, mistake) and of course it's a sign of lung cancer.
287996 tn?1312023682 did you GO to the ER? Because they SHOULD do more than the EKG. They would do blood work (troponins) and it would tell if you are having a heart attack or have recently had one. They would know if your chest pains are cardiac related on that level. If you went and are not happy with the results, please see a cardiologist....and don't bother with a regular MD.
541859 tn?1214188220 Anytime I sit for an extended period of time (like at work) I loose feeling in my feet and legs. I was having such bad chest pain that I had to go to the ER three weeks ago and they told me that my heart is healthy and then told me that the chest pain is completely independant of the chiari although I had to spell chiari for the dr.
Avatar f tn I'm a 31yr old woman with chest pain during activity I'm sweating, dizzy, nauseated, the pain is in the middle of my chest and have recently moved to my back. My doctor order echocardiogram, ekg, and a nuclear stress test that was all fine. I'm overweight for my height but have always been fit with blood pressure always was fine always been able to run up stairs (which now a problem) should i still be worried that its cardio or not?
Avatar n tn The sympoms you are expressing can be angina and that is a chest pain, etc. indicating there is insufficient blood flow to heart cells. Angina usually occurs with exertion, and there is symptomatic relief with rest. Hope this helps, and if you have any followup questions you are welcome to respond. Take care.
Avatar n tn Hi Im a 28 year old male who has experienced moderate to severe chest pain in the last 2 years. During this time I have been in and out of ER's and have also had met with a 4 cardiologists and had what I deem to be a thorough cardiac work up. The work up included: multiple ECG's (over 10), a 48 hr. holter monitor, an echocardigram, an event monitor, and a stress test.
Avatar m tn after 3 weeks i went to the doctor he checked my blood pressure my chest some questions he wasnt worried and said i have allergies and sinus problems he gave me flixonaze nasal spray and aerius antihistamine for a month and told me to come back. when taking flixonase i sometime feel a pressure in my nose or face but my post nazal drip was reduced.
Avatar m tn Also, if someone were to have heart related chest pains while exercising... would the chest pain be brought on my any type of exercise [biking, running, weight lifting, etc] or can it only show up during certain exercises?
Avatar m tn I have never posted before as im usually on another forum but just noticed this one tonight. For the last few months i have suffered serious chest pain. It comes on all of a sudden and i cant even move or hardly breathe. Every time i take a breath its absoloutely agony, so i have to breath very slightly as its so sore. It brings tears to my eyes. I have very serious lung problems and years ago the doctors told me that eventually it would put a strain on my heart.
Avatar f tn I am having chest pain and tightness(feels like someone is sitting on my chest for about two minutes) numbness and tingling in left arm and pain in back and nausia. i am 37 years old and i smoke a pack and a half a day.
Avatar f tn Rhonda, I have to agree with everyone that has posted. Please see a GI specialist. I've had my gallbladder removed which caused horrible pain in my chest and my throat and just recently I've had a lot of chest discomfort and pain in my belly and they did a scope and found out that I have a hernia. With your symptoms that you're having it would definitely be a good thing for them to look at you. Best of luck and I hope they figure it out soon!
Avatar m tn Its like a streching feeling with slight pain. Located right in the middle of my chest about 2-4 inches above the very bottom of my solar plexis right in the center. width of pain about 4 inches max When I run, it gets sore, but seems to get better after a while. slight stomach empty feeling-buring sometimes also. burping after eating. I had some test's done. I had a ekg, which was good, a chest xray which was good. I used to smoke, had a pul funct.
Avatar n tn The test we order most commonly is a CT of the chest with contrast, although MRI of the chest or TEE are also acceptable tests. These could explain why you have a diminished right radial pulse. A normal ESR would make it very unlikely that you have an inflammatory cause of a thoraccic aneurysm, but does not rule out the most common cause of throacic aneurysms which is atherosclerosis.
Avatar f tn I called for an ambulance, and when they arrived, I was given nitro. It brought the pain level down somewhat, but also made my chest feel hot. A second nitro was given, and the pain reduced to a tolerable level. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the pain came back. I was given another nitro, which brought it back down to a dull roar, so to speak. While I was in the ER, I noticed an odd pattern on the heart monitor.
