1360236 tn?1282335889 I am suffering from the same problem, for me it started three days ago and I still have it.I don't know whether its on your right or left(Its on my left) but I can say that its not related to your heart, so relax. You can follow this guide line to know the cause. See if it hurts to apply pressure to your chest at the point of origin of pain. If it hurts to press your ribs or sternum then it is costochondritis .
Avatar n tn I am 22 years old and a little over weight but am going to a gym to get fit, I have had a slide on my work out and stopped going for about a month and am going to go back..
Avatar m tn OK, so weird- this morning I woke up to a strong vibration on the lower right side of my chest (below my right breast). I thought I was laying on my cell phone. I sat straight up in bed as it freaked me out and it happened again. I kept thinking somehow my cell phone was stuck to me. It vibrated about 5 strong cell phone like vibrations. I am healthy and have no known heart problems. I am on the tail end of a chest cold.
Avatar n tn I have what I can best describe as a periodic to frequent burning sensation in my upper left pectoral muscle which sometimes radiates towards the right side. Also I have similiar burning sensation in my left trapezius. One doctor believes this is a muscle spasm and nothing more. Is there any possibility that this buscle buring sensation is related to my LA being enlarged?
Avatar m tn One can not rule out a chest-pain heart event, but the pain can be the result uncontrolled contraction of the chest muscle. It can produce intense pain and muscle cramps can develop in any muscle in the body although they most often occur in the calf or foot. Muscle cramps usually happen while lying in bed or playing sports or exercising. Overuse, injury, muscle strain, or staying in the same position for a long time can produce cramping.
Avatar f tn If it is related to the heart it could be insignificant heart spasms. For some insight: A coronary artery spasm is a brief, temporary tightening (contraction) of the muscles in the artery wall. This can narrow and briefly decrease or even prevent blood flow to part of the heart muscle. (myocardium). If the spasm lasts long enough, it can lead to chest pain (angina) and possibly a heart attack (myocardial infarction). These spasms may also be referred to as Prinzmetal angina or variant angina.
1211508 tn?1343079605 Possibly a pulled muscle, muscle spasm, strain in the chest? I had bad chest pains from anxiety and stress (not saying yours is that since you just picked up a cell phone when it started) - i was having sharp pains, discomfort, tightening. I had an EKG and didn't show anything. Then the doctor pressed really hard on my chest with her palm and hurt really bad. She said it was the wall cavity that was tightening up, and not my actual heart.

Avatar n tn Coronary artery spasm, which tends to cause episodes of chest pain, can occur with activity or at rest. It may coexist with coronary artery disease — a buildup of plaques in the coronary arteries. Chest pain has many underlyying causes. You may be able to do a differential diagnosis by identifying non-cardiac causes that do not relate to your condition: ■Heartburn.
Avatar f tn I have been having really bad muscle spasms lately like to the point I'm crying. It's only on my left side though like my left hand, calf and left side of my back. It's not just during the night either and it's causing me to be so sore and tired. Has anyone else had this? Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Hi I have been having chest pain for over a month. I have the pain every day I noticed I have a lump on my chest and it's very sore when I press it. I have been to the doctors and hospital and had an ecg done that came back normal. It's more recently I have discovered this lump but the docs don't know it's there what could this lump be? I know I need to go back to the doctors to get it checked but I'm just wondering if any body knows what it could be.
Avatar n tn There is nothing in the bloodstream that would indicate a problem, but like I say, while he calms down and begins to rest, it is as if there is an uncontrollable spasm for his chest/shoulder muscles. It does not appear to be painful, but definately noticable. I forgot to mention he is going on 6 yrs old and in good shape 65-68 pounds for a male boxer. I don't know what to do. I can send video as well. The vet asked for one as well.

Avatar m tn Two days ago I had a sudden onset of severe pain in my chest ,left to the sternum.I can say the pain is some where aroud the sixth rib, near to the sternum. I can't clearly differentiate the pain, whether it is muscular or in the bone. The pain didn't go away by itself and is persistent from two days.( I was expecting it to be Precordial catch syndrome, which is relieved in few seconds to few minutes and is very common) . The pain exacerbate by over inhaling or exhaling.
Avatar n tn I have POTS and chest pain, which at times has been diagnosed as esophageal spasm. Chest pain, according to doctors I have seen, is common in POTS. Can be very uncomfortable and intense. I have nausea too, mostly mild and ongoing (and annoying!). Also have GERD. Sometimes antacid helps chest pain, sometimes hyocysamine (sp), which is for spasms. Mine usually happens every couple of months or so in the evening. Hope you get some answers.
Avatar n tn I recently was changed from prilisec to protonix which greatly relieved the laryngeal irritation from silent gerd. Two nights past week have awakened with severe nerve pain entire left thorax (front & back between shoulder blades) and left arm/hand. Ironically no substernal chest pain. Echo and persantine tests normal 3 months ago (done to evaluate for PH/copd) It was 9/10 and 10/10 severity nerve pain, not muscle, no brash, no acid in throat, etc. It lasted less than 10 minutes.
1346447 tn?1327862572 It would be difficult to conclude a prior heart spasm caused your heart attack especially when there is evidence of occlusions that may have caused an ischemic heart attack. Unless there is some objective evidence of spasms (seen during test, etc.) the analysis may only include the objective evidence of your occlusions. Demographics may be considered such as most common with younger adults, but older individuals can have episodes especially in older women.
Avatar n tn Are the muscles in that area tight or swollen? Does it hurt worse when you lift or do something that pulls on those muscles? If that is what the doctor said, did he give you any type of muscle relaxer to help it? He didn't recommend any therapy, either? I would have to question him about that. If pain goes up the left shoulder blade, I don't know about constant pain, but I do know that back pain that runs up the left side of the back can be a symptom of problems with the gall bladder.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, pain related to the heart is not easily differentiated from chest pain or discomfort from respiratory, esophogeal, or the chest's skeletal configuration. Even if the pain does not return tha would not indicate there is no heart problem. The cause could be the heart muscle from viral infection, medication, etc. or it could be a spasm of the coronary artery that temporarily shut off circulation of oxygenated blood, etc. Worst case scenario. You should get an evaluation.
Avatar f tn So for about the last 5 days I've had a dull annoying pain on my left side, kidney area. It feels sort of like a pressure almost gas bubble like, and sort of pulled muscle. Motrin seems to help but I hate taking it constantly. I also haven't been feeling 100% in general, more tired then usual and slight stomach issues, just all around not great. I'm fairly prone to kidney stones so I know what that feels like and I'm pretty sure that's not it.
