10-11 hrs a night, I sometimes wake up with left side chest pain. I had my cholesterol checked and it came back Total-245, Triglycyrides-253, HDL-39, and LDL-156. How bad is this and is that enough to cause my chest pain and am I at risk for a heart attack?? If I'm more active could I get this lowered? and does the beer I drink affect cholesterol levels? My husband is 32 years old in great shape and has been having chest pain, upper left back pain, lower abdominal and side pain, and shooting pain down his left arm with some numbness. He has been dealing with these symptoms for a while now and keeps going to the doctor and running all these tests and nothing. Hi, first of all it's so nice to know I am not crazy. Three years ago, while pregnant with my daughter I started to feel pain under my left rib cage. The docker thought it was her feet brushing against my ribs. Three years later, I am still in pain. Now the pain won't go away. I have had every test under the sun done. Endoscopy, colonoscopy, upper gi, stress test, heart ultra sound, EKG, five other types of ultrasounds ranging from uterus to spleen to gallbladder.
On Nov 29 I wrote to you about my youngest son (16) who was complaining of chest pain and subsequently of weakness in the left side of his body. I called his pediatrician and she had me take him to the emergency room to have him checked out. After running several tests, including blood test and a Head CT w/contrast. Every test result was normal, but his white blood cells where a little low which the hospital thought might be caused by a slight viral infection.

okay hers the question over the last couple of months once in a while I get a sharp pain under my left chest muscle almost on my side, it only last a second or 2. usually I am siting down. I recently just got insurance and got established with a family Doc, been seeing hime about 3 months. I've had an ekg, holter monitor, and blood work done through him.
It is more under the nipple to left side of my chest and left arm sometimes. I also get pain in my back sort of between shoulder blades when it is really bad. I have had ekg, reads normal ,BP 123/87 no shortness of breath. My cholesterol levels, bad cholesterol was below slightly do not remember exact number. Good cholesterol was slightly higher than normal but was told that helps to fight coronery disease.I do not have insurance and both my wife and I recently lost our jobs.

Your age, the relationship to physical exercise, etc. suggest a thoracic
outlet or scalene syndrome. Have MD examine neck muscles and ulnar nerve
function in hands. Reduce, if possible, exercises and heat to front of neck over collar bone,, Appropriate pain pillls and muscle relaxers will help also. You are too young to be in USMC- What about school?
I started to see a new doctor to see if she can figure out my side problem....which i've had for over 13years. Not one doctor can diagnose it. She had all my medical records of all the tests i've had done. I told her I don't want to go down the kidney route b/c it's not my kidney every test i've had done for my kidney comes back normal and fine.
