Avatar m tn Im a 24 yr old male, 205lbs, 6ft, cholesterol 245. I'm a very inactive person for about 4 years now, and I noticed that I can minor activities and be winded and have a fast heart rate that I can feel without putting my hand on my chest, and I also can feel it in my throat and everywhere else where you can feel your pulse. Just by walking up a flight of stairs I get super winded. I've been having recurrent localized left side chest pain for about 2 yrs now.
Avatar f tn It feels worse and different than the last chest pain I had. This one is like in my back and all over the left side of my chest. I know that all the tests came back fine but now I'm just not convinced. I can literally feel my arteries being blocked which is what could be causing the pain.
Avatar n tn On Nov 29 I wrote to you about my youngest son (16) who was complaining of chest pain and subsequently of weakness in the left side of his body. I called his pediatrician and she had me take him to the emergency room to have him checked out. After running several tests, including blood test and a Head CT w/contrast. Every test result was normal, but his white blood cells where a little low which the hospital thought might be caused by a slight viral infection.
Avatar m tn It is more under the nipple to left side of my chest and left arm sometimes. I also get pain in my back sort of between shoulder blades when it is really bad. I have had ekg, reads normal ,BP 123/87 no shortness of breath. My cholesterol levels, bad cholesterol was below slightly do not remember exact number. Good cholesterol was slightly higher than normal but was told that helps to fight coronery disease.I do not have insurance and both my wife and I recently lost our jobs.
Avatar f tn Well, it's not really in the chest area as you would think about it. Its on my left side, right under my breast. It goes along the left side and to my back as well. There's pain and then there is also pressure. It hurts when I sing, like after I haven't breathed in enough. Also it hurts when I lay on that side. If I'm sitting up, it's more so like there's pressure in the back.
Avatar n tn I have also been burping alot. The pain is gone if i relax my chest but the deeper the breath the sharper the pain.
Avatar n tn I get the same thing..Mild left chest pain that comes and goes. I've talked to my Dr. about it and was told that it was just anxiety. That was before I wore a holter monitor and they picked up that my heart rate gets up to 210 bpm! So, now I am seeing a cardiologist. just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, then call the Dr. any shortness of breath or palpitations should be reported too.. Always take these symptoms seriously because you never know!
Avatar f tn The classic quality is squeezing sensation as if an “elephant is on the chest”. The pain also classically radiates to the left side. You should have your cardiac enzymes cycled (i.e., taken every 6-8 hours x 3) and also have an EKG and chest xray. When you need to be ruled out for any type of myocardial infarction or other cardiovascular event. It may be recommended that you have a left heart catheterization to evaluate your coronary (i.e., heart) arteries.
Avatar m tn I have pain in the left side of my chest, and it hurts when I breath what could that be
Avatar n tn The underly cause could be coronary artery spasms. Chest pain has many underlying causes, but it is always wise to rule out any pulmonary or cardiacvascular disorders. There could be a congenital malfunctioning issue with your heart and/or respiratory system as well. You should see a doctor.

Avatar f tn Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain and referred pain to left shoulder. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Chances are that you could be having gastro esophageal reflux (GERD), where the food in your stomach is thrown up into your food pipe or esophagus. This also causes burning sensation or discomfort in the chest area.

I'm a relatively in shape 21 year old with no history of any sort of problems. It's been happening a few times a month.

It's very localized to one spot on the left side of my chest and doesn't reproduce the pain from pressing in the area. I've seen 4 cardiologist, and 2 cardiologist nurse practioners.

Avatar f tn It feels like a tightness and sharp pain in the middle and left side of my chest. I also get a racing or slow heart beet and out of breath fast. It hurts off and on throw out the day. It lasts about an hour or two at a time. I have been to the ER twice, they tested me for a blood clot, did ex-rays and an eight. They said they did see nothing wrong and said it was probably brused mucles. I also went to my doctor, all she did was ask questions and said it was mucles stretched.
Avatar f tn Hi. It started when I work up yesterday, just a vague pain in my left leg. I thought maybe I slept on it wrong. Then I started noticing other left sided symptoms that are all getting progressively worse as time goes on. The next thing I noticed is the left side of my throat, under my chin(I imagine where my lymph node would be?) is very sore. Like, I can feel pain there when I look up, strain the area in any way. It's sore to the touch.
