Common Questions and Answers about Chest pain in center of chest

chest

Avatar f tn Have you noticed if eating certain foods makes it worse? If pain in the center of the chest lasts 30 minutes or longer, it could be a heart attack. How long is the pain lasting and how severe is it? When arteries spasm it can be felt in the chest and sometimes the back. Do you ever get pain in your back or a vibrating feeling in your back? Start first with a chiropractor to see if you have any misaligned bones. This could be causing all of your symptoms.
624083 tn?1369314263 Are you wearing a really supportive bra? If not, try that, I have 38E's so I understand that its hard to hold them up but its really important to keep um up as high as possible lol it will cause less strain and hopefully less aches and pains.
1553173 tn?1358434089 With those kind of symptoms, I think I would go to the ER and have any heart-related problems ruled out. That being said, it could also be chest wall strain, have you done any heavy lifting lately. Is the pain just in one spot? What I mean is, if you touch just area on your chest, does it hurt, or, is it wide spread. Usually, "spot" pains are not heart related.

Avatar m tn It only hurts when I lower my shoulders all the way. The pain is at the center of my chest and can go to my back at the center. I played basketball last Saturday and I was chest checking people so I'm guessing and hoping it's brusised I haven't had any other symptoms. Does this sound serious?

7580199 tn?1392249250 Hi Everybody... Just wondering, how long does everyone else's chest pain last? Seems like my left pectoral muscle and sternum in the center of the chest stay "tender" or a little bit sore for a day or two after a panic attack... anyone else experience this?

Avatar n tn I was sitting in class and then slumped over my desk a little and when I sat up straight and took a breath, I felt pressure in the center of my chest, right in the middle of my breast bone. If I breathed in or out deeply, the pressure would intensify but when I breathed normally/shortly, there was no pressure. I thought I was maybe having a minor heart attack so of course I got nervous and my heart rate started to speed up.
Avatar n tn Sometimes I get a sensation in the center of my chest when I exert myself suddenly. My endurance during running has decreased over the last couple of months as well. I've been to my doctor and he says that I have a heart murmur. The ECG did not reveal anything abnormal. My blood pressure is reasonable (typically 135/77 - I measure it daily). I'm scheduled for an Echocardiogram and Stress Test. I'm also carrying a Nitro spray as a precaution, although I haven't had to use it.
1348086 tn?1370783185 I have tingling and numbness in the morning in my right hand and was told that was carpel tunnel syndrome. When you say pressure, is it in the center of your chest? In any case, you may want to follow up with your doctor to be sure you are not ignoring something. Avatar m tn These sensations can last for a long period of time, and can actually occur anywhere from weeks after the surgery itself, to years later. Women who experience this pain should be seen in a Pain Center, because there are some nerve blocks that can be done. In particular, one that is sometimes helpful would be the Stellate Ganglion Block, which would be done by an anesthesiologist trained in pain medicine.
Avatar m tn I'm having major pains in my upper, center part of my chest hurts to push off anything.. really to use my arms at first i thought maybe a muscle strain but its deeper then that! like a broke bone.
Avatar n tn I am going to give you all some factors that may have to do with my current condition, but I do not believe really hold weight in terms of why I am experiencing the chest pain I have been feeling since February 17th, 2008. I do not care for your input on my drug use but rather the reason behind my pain, so keep your own personal views on these substances to yourself please. At about 3:30 PM on Saturday (Feb. 16th) I ingested approximately 1.
Avatar f tn I have been a heavy drinker for two years now. I am 35 years old, 5 foot 10, weigh 180 pounds. I have had a history of high cholesterol and triglycerides, but according to doctors, the ratings were nothing extreme. I have had a pain in the center of my chest for six weeks and it won't go away. I feel it more when I'm lying down and when I take a deep breath. I don't have health insurance so I haven't seen a doctor. I'm hoping someone can tell me what is causing the pain.
Avatar f tn m exercising, sitting at the computer, laying down/reading (although I notice the pains more if I lay on my sides). I had one, instant-long, sharpish pain in the center of the chest and near my right scapula. I've worked out for 35+ minutes, moderate-low intensity for the past three days. Two days I had pain, one day I didn't. I haven't been out of breath (more than usual). I haven't been able to pin down how long pain lasts as it seems to not really have a pattern.
Avatar n tn It’s in the center of my chest. I don’t have anxiety issues or GERD.
Avatar m tn I am a 36 year old male and tonight I got a very sharp pain in the center of my chest. It feels like it's around the sternum, not inside my chest. It did not affect, nor was it affected by my breathing. The severe pain lasted about 10 minutes and was very scary. Scary enough that I grabbed my cell phone in case I needed to dial 911. The pain was a little more intense if I hunched over. Conversely, if pushed my shoulders back and pushed my chest out, the pain subsided somewhat.
Avatar m tn For last 1 1/2 weeks my chest has a pain in the center. Notice in the morning after laying down and when I swallow I feel pain. I had a cold/flu approx. 6 weeks ago and was able to function after about 2 days. However, I have had a persistent cough that never seem to go away. Its not all the time once I am up in the morning it eleveates for the most part but annoying. I have recently started on ibuprophen and it helps a little. I do not feel like I have congestion.
10565128 tn?1422607009 Hey, Same thing has been happening to me. On and off pain on the left side of chest. I also got an ECG and everything was OK. i still have the bloody thing and its driving me mad.. it even radiates to my back and sometimes my left arm. I also have GERD so that's one potential cause. I reckon in your case it would be muscle strain. its like this, if something was going to happen, it would have happened by now.
1445428 tn?1284465155 The first response would be that chest pain can definitetly be left sided. There is a type of chest pain that can occur just at night and it is called Printzmetal's angina. If that angina occurs also during the day it can be called variant angina.Have you seen a doctor? I would not dismiss these signs as they could be related to heart disease of either the large or smaller heart vessels.
4384923 tn?1353791323 t look very good coming out from the center of my chest. My doctor suggested going back to the surgeon which I will due if it gets any worse. It certainly is in a strange spot just under the sternum.
