Just how severe can gas pain be? Can it hurt in your chest, upper back, ribcage, and make you feel short of breath? I am really scared that something is wrong with me. I don't have money or insurance.

I am 20 years old, weigh 125. I have been having random chest pain and when it starts hurting , it hurts to take a deep breath. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does it is really distracting.

I am a 26-yr-old female and for the past couple weeks I have been experiencing some pain in the left side of my chest. At times, it will come on suddenly, as though there is a giant bubble that won't pop and is so painful its hard to breath. It usually last a min or two. Most of the time, there is just a dull pain that continues in that area and sometimes spreads to the shoulder and upper arm. I am concerned because it is becoming more frequent but I am not sure what it is.

I have the same problem sometimes, its most likely gas pain. When I need to relieve gas pain in my chest and upper back I drink about 2-3oz of lemon juice in a glass of water and take a few gas x. It helps me a lot. Try not to drink carbonated beverages after 6pm, and drink the lemon water after dinner and before bed to help relieve the pain all night long, It works wonders for me.

but before these, like a year ago, i also got bad chest pain. usually lasted for a couple hours then it just turned out to be gas. i still am perplexed to this day. i noticed that drinking water,eating whole grains, and sleeping helps. try that. but if you got a lot of tests done then it has to be benign. dont worry, even though i know it hurts. just try the things i said and tell me how they work.

I've been having constant pain in my chest in th middle and right side. It is not sharp but an aching pain. Wondering what could cause this? I've had inflamed pecks in the past and this is not the same pain. I am a 30 year old woman of mixed race.

Hi pink, i experience the same problem as you.... gas and chest pain.... i get nervous and think i am going to get a heart attack...... i took a endoscopy which shows some blood clots in my stomach. and doctor said it is called erosive gastitis and there is nothing to worry. i am still under medication. iam waiting for the full course of medication to finish. but the doctor has said to me it is not permanently curable... it will come time and again and disturb you....

Because chest pain can be something serious you really need to get seen by a dr. It's possible it's nothing more than acid reflux, but it could be something much more serious so it's not worth the risk. If you feel any dizziness, shortness of breath, extreme pressure in your chest or severe nausea you should get to the ER.

I been having a chest pain for three days, but it usually pain for 2 hours. Although i have experience these pain before from the past, it usually come and go. But today i have a hard time to digest food, and my stomach feel weird. My whole body is working fine, legs and arm are both function normal, it just that my chest is feeling pain and my body is not digesting food today. So i don't know what is going in on. Go to the doctor.Stop asking general people about this, you are the one feeling this thing of "pains in my chest". It may be as simple as "gas" or it maybe something like chest wall inflammation. Make an appointment with your family doctor, or go to an urgent care. Worry over past months is not worth the risk of getting help.Joan.

Is it posible for gas to cause chest pain that gets worse when you breath. I have also been burping alot. The pain is gone if i relax my chest but the deeper the breath the sharper the pain.

It may be gas related but if i were you, i would do a chest MRI to rule out other chest related diseases like cancer. (not scaring you but 4 years is a long time). Schedule a chest test - MRI or an xray. Does this happen after you eat? Do you lie down after you eat?

Im 26 and started having chest pain in my sternum area i thought i was having a heart attack but a few days later now im coughing and trying to clear my throught kinda feels like im getting a cold.

Any sort of chest pain should be evaluated by a doctor. It could be something like your back out of alignment or a pinched nerve. Could also be something to do with your heart or meds. If the pain is really bad go to the ER. Get it checked out.

I am 33,and i have been haveing gas in my chest that keeps comeing back,my heart has been beating very fast.i am on propranolol for that,and it feels like no oxygen is getting to my body,i have had several blackouts.i've had my heart checked except the final test.what do you think this is?thank you.

Yes great BBQ, that is what i ate on Sat, someone said that there is a intestine around the spine that gets gas caught in it sometimes. That is cool, but i just don't understand how a pain in the chest under your nipple area can be from gas. But hey i'll confess im not a guienes. At present I have dull Chest pain ,which with little exertion becomes worse,have back pain and stuck gas/air in the chest area...during these times i had experiences lower abdomen pain too(but stones were ruled out in test)..have pain below the right rib cage too... I want to ask if there could be even something else or what tests should i do to check for any other conditions... So far my chest X-ray,Ultrasound is clear...what cud be the reason for prolonged sickness.

I am a 36 year old male and tonight I got a very sharp pain in the center of my chest. It feels like it's around the sternum, not inside my chest. It did not affect, nor was it affected by my breathing. The severe pain lasted about 10 minutes and was very scary. Scary enough that I grabbed my cell phone in case I needed to dial 911. The pain was a little more intense if I hunched over. Conversely, if pushed my shoulders back and pushed my chest out, the pain subsided somewhat.
