Avatar n tn I have a history of seasonal allergies and for the past several weeks have been having a sligh tight feeling in my chest accompanied by mild shortness of breath. I have no actual trouble breathing or wheezing or anything like that and I run 6 miles several days a week with no problems at all. The symptoms are not brought on by exertion. I had a PFT done this morning and the results said Borderline Obstruction and small improvement after Albuterol. I do not have a history of asthma.

Avatar f tn ve had seasonal allergies my whole life and I have definitely become sore in my chest and abdomen from sneezing/coughing. If allergy treatments don't work, you can also try a humidifier. Like mentioned, stuffy noses are common during pregnancy, and the coughing could be from the air in your home being very dry. A humidifier might help.

Avatar n tn Three causes of chest pain that traditional docs are not aware of ; one is allergies, either airborn or food. the second is the neurotoxin acetaldehyde from yeast overgrowth in the body. the third is oxalates in the diet which causes all kinds of pains , burnings, twinges. I have had experience with all three and have changed my diet and lifestyle.
Avatar n tn I recently had pain in the right side of my chest along with pain between my shoulder blades and neck pain. I had a horrible cough from allergies that lasted several weeks. My doctor told me that the cough had inflamed the muscles in my chest.
942934 tn?1268108382 I'm wondering what is the maximum recovery time from an acute chest infection? I have asthma and take regularly symbicort 200 (6 puffs/day). I had problems with asthma control before I got the infection, and am seeing a respirologist for this problem. Over 8 weeks ago I woke up one morning with mucous rattling in my chest, and after the third day I developed a fever. I spent 5 weeks on prednisone for the exacerbation and 10 days of antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I would never advise someone who is experiencing chest pain not be checked out by a doctor, however chest pain is a fairly common symptom of "hemolytic anemia " caused by the early destruction of red blood cells brought on by Ribavirin. Again..chest pain should always be checked, however hopfully it calms you somewhat knowing it is very common with tx. Good luck.. Will Hemolytic Anemia Overview What is hemolytic anemia?
Avatar n tn Today I am trying to get an appointment with an allergist. I just want the chest pain to go away. The hives I can deal with! I told the older doctor that I had looked up on line and found quite a few people who have chest pain with hives; I'm not the only one. All he said was, "hmmm no doubt"...... Unfortunately, the one on the internet are also looking for answers and there seems to be too few of them out there.
Avatar f tn I have no history of smoking. In 2003 I was hospitalized after having trouble breathing. Chest x-rays where fine. All breathing test where fine. I was sick for about 3-4 weeks. In 2005 I started to develop allergies to various fruits and veg. I also whould have on going episodes of "Asthma" flare-ups. Again Chest x-rays where fine. Dr. whould report that chould not here any wheezing. Current in the past year I have started to have allergic reactions to various vapors, perfumes ect.
Avatar f tn Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. Do consult a doctor and get this examined. Take care!
Avatar f tn My question is this. For about 3 years I have suffered from chronic sore throat, cough, and chest pain (like someone standing on my chest). I work with children and thought I was just always catching whatever germs were always going around. The chest pain I have had evaluated and everything comes back normal. I am wondering if these symptoms could be related to my thyroid? Has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar m tn Yes, it's called 'chest wall pain'. quote: "Pain in the chest wall is reported in one-third of persons with FMS...especially true in young to middle-age females" from 'The Fibromyalgia Help Book' by Dr's J.Fransen and J.Russell. This pain does not necessarily equate to heart disease.
Avatar f tn for the last 2 weeks I have had a bad cough and chest and back pain, it is not getting better and there seems to be no cough syrop or medicationt that will work. I keep getting dizzy as well not just while coughing. I really don't want to sit at a clinic to find out I have a bad cold, but I am getting concerned that it may be more then a cold. I have also been getting a fever off and on.
1433843 tn?1299692105 Jenny - never mess with breathing always go straight to your dr. Things can turn on a dime, I've had pneumonia and allergies and waiting is never a good idea. You need to take care of yourself. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong, at 28 breathing should never hurt. Please see your Dr. Hope to hear back that you have an appt.
Avatar m tn The cough sounds like a bark when I sit up, but when I sit back in a chair or lay down, now the cough sounds like a chest infection, this chest/throat infection sound stops if I sit up. To my knowledge I haven’t lost any weight, although to be honest I don’t check my weight so have no guide. I also get pains occasionally in the centre of my chest under my breast bone. I went to my GP after the sore throats and I had a chest x-ray and blood test (what for I’m not sure) and both were clear.
1105253 tn?1257992401 People with GERD also tend to have a frequent cough, chest tightness, chest pain, neck pain, etc, because stomach acid is actually getting into your lungs. I notice that I often get pvcs when taking a deep breath and this is usually when my GERD symptoms are acting up. I really don't understand the correlation myself. lol.
Avatar m tn Sometimes I feel pressure from my left arm pit straight into my chest by my heart area, I dont know if im having a heart attack or what. I hope someone can give some answers.
Avatar m tn I also get left arm pain but not when i am having the chest pains(usually about 2 to 5 minutes after). I have had 2 stress echo's, a Cardiac CT, and numerous ekg's. All were excellent(except for the PAC's). Coronary arteries were in pristine condition. No pain upon exertion. Always at rest. Only twice while at sleep(unless i am sleeping thru pain, which is unlikely as i am a light sleeper). I can not reproduce the pain by twisting, turning, contorting, lifting.
Avatar m tn After i stop running, i cant take deep breaths without this stabbing pain at the top of my chest, and as a result of trying to breathe harder i end up coughing, and sometimes i cough up mucus like i have a cold. Also, right at the time the chest pains happen, i start feeling dizzy, like im dehydrated. Hours after i have stopped running, i still have extremely minor pains when breathing normally. This usually continues for a week or two.
