Avatar n tn Today I am trying to get an appointment with an allergist. I just want the chest pain to go away. The hives I can deal with! I told the older doctor that I had looked up on line and found quite a few people who have chest pain with hives; I'm not the only one. All he said was, "hmmm no doubt"...... Unfortunately, the one on the internet are also looking for answers and there seems to be too few of them out there.

Avatar f tn I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. Avatar m tn Anytime there is chest pain present it can be alarming due to the possibility of cardiac problems. But, in your case, I would lean toward respiratory or gastro-intestinal issues. The persistent cough, along with the possible presence of lingering congestion, could be causing your upper airways and throat to be inflamed and sore. Also, there could be a possibility of a hiatal hernia. Frequent or hard coughing is a risk factor. I hope that you will consider seeing a physician. Good luck.
Avatar f tn What it feels like is the chronic post nasal drip I have has caused congestion in my upper chest. However, the weird part is, I really have no cough, and the occasional cough has never brought anything up. In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better.
Avatar m tn I had serious chest pain for about 3 days straight. I woke up 3 days ago and was having a hard time breathing. Since then, I'ts only gotten worse. My stomach hurts everytime I cough now. When i lie down its harder to breathe. It feels as though I have chest congestion. The back of my throat is slowly beginning to hurt more and more started yesterday till now. If anyone has any idea whats going on, please let me know.
Avatar n tn I would just like to say, ive got this same thing at the moment, and the pain is tight and horrendous, i was given antibiotics for bronchitis, i also have tried steaming, but im very congested and cant break up the phlegm, maybe its the congestion causing this pain .. i just wish the pain would go away. Also my throat is very dry, maybe its a bad bought off flu?
Avatar n tn I have had severe chest congestion, a sharp pain deep in the center of my chest, it causes shallow breathing because it hurts to breath in and causes a severe cough attack. This has returned 3 times now in the past three months. The first time I came down with this, I went to my primary care dr.
Avatar f tn I feel like death. Headache, nausea, chest congestion, throats on fire. I am pumping in the vitamin c, but is there anything else I can do?
Avatar n tn For about a year now I have had a cough and chest congestion, my doctor has switched my asthma medications several times thinking that might be the reason for my cough and congestion, she's tried many different types of allery medications, I have been to the pulmonologist, had a chest x-ray and nothing was found, but the cough and congestion I still have.
Avatar f tn I have severe chest congestion. This has been going on for about 3 months. It's strange because I will have constant congestion and cough one day and the next day I will be almost clear. I know that if I have congestion one day the next day I will not. I plan my days accordingly. My dr. has put me on antiboitics and presidone twice in the last 3 months, I've had a chest x-ray last week, shows nothing. I have had allergies all my life.
Avatar f tn May be they need to culture your mucus and find a specific antibiotic. Flushing with salt always helps with infection. I constantly flush with saline nasal spray and gargle with salt water when I have some resipirtory infection.
1105253 tn?1257992401 People with GERD also tend to have a frequent cough, chest tightness, chest pain, neck pain, etc, because stomach acid is actually getting into your lungs. I notice that I often get pvcs when taking a deep breath and this is usually when my GERD symptoms are acting up. I really don't understand the correlation myself. lol.
Avatar f tn After eating certain foods I get quite a bit of mucus build-up in my lungs and find myself coughing a lot after meals. I'm 17 years old and don't think this is due to acid reflux as I don't have any other symptoms and am quite young. I notice it immediately after I finish eating (not sure if it actually starts during eating as I'm not really focused on how my chest feels while eating). Does anyone have any idea of what this may be?
Avatar f tn My question is the the last 3 months as I am laying down for a while I get a gurggle feeling in my chest and it almost feels like congestion so I make a cough to see if that would help and I have no congestion at all and the cough doesnt help. When I stand for a minute is when it will go away. Can you please tell me what this means or if I should go get a 2nd opinion??? Heart related issues runs on my mother side of the family and just about everyone has an issue.
Avatar f tn As she has an infection in her ears and was prescribed with the Pseudoephedrine to dry up the congestion, it is likely that she is having post nasal drip and this in turn can trigger her coughing. You may find that placing a bowl of hot water with Vick or Olbas oil in her bedroom in a safe place to avoid any accidents, may help to loosen up any congestion. You can also get some plug in vapours, or rub some Vick on her neck, chest and back to help relieve the congestion.
Avatar f tn i am stressed alot of the time over simple things so could it be stress thats causing the pain?the pain is centre of my chest and slightly over to the left. always in the same place.
Avatar m tn I just moved to Denver from Chicago. Right before we left, I could tell I had a sinus infection, as I have a long history of sinus issues. I also have stomach issues, history of a couple ulcers. A couple of ENT's have told me I have obvious signs of GERD, though I don't often have indigestion, sometimes I can taste acid in the morning. Anyway, I saw a doc when I arrived in Denver and she gave me Biaxin for the sinus infection. Only it doesn't seem to have cleared up.
Avatar f tn WHAT does it all mean? My Cardiologist is a real Quack, I think. He 's suggesting I'm merely suffering from Heartburn! and won't listen to/answer my questions... just smiles and pretty much shuts me up and leaves. Due to being sick for over a year (nausea, breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, congestion whenever lying down, etc) my new PC doctor did a treadmill stress test...
Avatar f tn Bed rest, drinking plenty of water and hot drinks such as herbal teas are often the best treatments for speeding recovery from chest pain. Inhaling steam can also help to reduce congestion and kill germs on contact – and is particularly beneficial for your age. Antibiotics or pain relievers such as paracetamol may also be prescribed for pain .
