ve been battling a sinus thing and I was told Sudafed but nothing more than regular Sudafed (no PE, extended release, etc.)and that if it became a full blown cold (chest congestion, cough, etc.) I could take Tylenol Cold but also just the regular version.

I also found soaking a cloth in hot water and putting it on my chest really helps, or either making a hot mustard paste compress for my chest or a hot mustard foot soak really helps the sinuses/chest congestion.
Tylenol and benadryl are the only two 'safe' medicines...although no medicine is best. I had a bad cold that was aweful for about 4 days and then lingered for like another 4...get lots of rest, fluids, and possibly use a humidifier (I did because I had congestion AND the runny nose/sneezes and it helped with the congestion...I didn't use any medication while I was sick). What it feels like is the chronic post nasal drip I have has caused congestion in my upper chest. However, the weird part is, I really have no cough, and the occasional cough has never brought anything up. In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better.
For about a year now I have had a cough and chest congestion, my doctor has switched my asthma medications several times thinking that might be the reason for my cough and congestion, she's tried many different types of allery medications, I have been to the pulmonologist, had a chest x-ray and nothing was found, but the cough and congestion I still have.

I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. I am 8 weeks pregnant. I have really bad nasal congestion & I can't breathe through my nose in which I can't stand! Is it safe for me to use a sinex nasal spray to clear up my nose?

After eating certain foods I get quite a bit of mucus build-up in my lungs and find myself coughing a lot after meals. I'm 17 years old and don't think this is due to acid reflux as I don't have any other symptoms and am quite young. I notice it immediately after I finish eating (not sure if it actually starts during eating as I'm not really focused on how my chest feels while eating). Tylenol! Don't take ibuprofen!!!! It can make your baby breath air in the womb which everyone knows is full of amniotic fluid. So it could drown the baby.

My question is the the last 3 months as I am laying down for a while I get a gurggle feeling in my chest and it almost feels like congestion so I make a cough to see if that would help and I have no congestion at all and the cough doesnt help. When I stand for a minute is when it will go away.

Being sick with a cold and cough while pregnant is the worst. Any sickness and pregnant *****! It takes so much longer to get better! I have a stuffy/runny nose and a horrible cough that will not go away! What are some over the counter medicine that you moms have taken to get rid of a cough? Anything? Hi ladies, new mom to be here. Im 8 weeks pregnant and a couple of days ago i started having trouble with my nose being stuffy. I tried the sudafed thats on the doctors list of medz but that doesnt help, never has. Last night it was so bad that i ended up using sinex basal spray. Is that bad?
