Avatar n tn my year old baby has real bad congestion chest that just dont go away shell be fine for a few days and it comes back the dictor gave me inhealers for her but im not sure if that all she needs she is even behind on her shots for that reson??
Avatar f tn You can also put in a corner of the room a bowl of hot water with some Vick in it so as to allow the steam vapours into the room to help him breathe. If you do have other children, do make sure that they cannot reach the bowl of water. Keep the baby warm and offer a warm diluted baby juice drink or just plain water. The doctor may also prescribe a baby pain relief medication in suspension form to help reduce any raised temperature. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn I wouldn't have thought the the low thyroid would cause chest pains. This is likely be to be congestion, asthma, muscle problems. What did your doctor reckon it was?
544292 tn?1268886268 Good Morning Tramadol Warriors! Welcome. We're so glad you found us! You can do it. Please make yourself at home and snuggle down. It will be a bit bumpy, but worth it!
Avatar f tn I would recommend you first try non-pharmacological treatments such as breathing steam, or keeping a vaporizer in the room. A topical preparation such as Vicks VapoRub is generally safe and may provide relief of chest congestion. Plain Robitussin (guaifenesin) is also generally safe during pregnancy for relief of chest congestion (make sure the liquid does not contain alcohol). Prior to initiating any therapy while pregnant, you should always contact your physician.

Avatar f tn For the congestion go into the bathroom put a towel at the bottom of the door and turn hot water and shower on full blast. It will create a steam room and clear it out. I do it when I get congested and it works amazing.
Avatar f tn That seemed to make my son a lot more comfortable when he was sick. For the congestion you can try turning on the shower and steam up the bathroom and just sit in there with her for a little while until you hear her chest clearing up. Vicks also helps. I think they have children's vicks, it's not as intense.
Avatar n tn Tuesday I started with a stuffy nose and post-nasal drip, then on about Thursday/Friday it developed with some chest congestion. I don't feel the need to cough, but every now and then I'll cough up a small little bit of green sputum. Along with that yellow/clear mucus is coming out of my nose. I am in the military and the hospital on base does not have an ER room/sick call and I can not go downtown to the ER unless it's an emergency.
Avatar m tn In the meantime do steam inhalations. To do a steam inhalation, boil up a kettleful of water and pour this into a bowl, taking care not to get scalded. Put some Vick or olbas oil or a few drops of any other menthol drops into the water. Bend your head over the bowl and cover your head and the bowl with a towel. Breathe in the steam through your nose and out through your mouth. It can be quite hot so do be very careful. Do this for up to 10 minutes if you can.
Avatar f tn So make sure you are well hydrated. For the congestion, you can try steam inhalations. A bowl of hot water with Vick or olbas oil and a towel over your head and breath in the steam. Take care not to get scaleded. Wishing you a speedy recovery Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Alternatively, you can have a bowl of hot steamy water with some menthol drops in or Vick or Olbas oil in your room/bed room. Take care and put it out of reach if there are any young children about. You can also apply some Vick to your throat, neck and chest to help relieve the congestion. Putting some menthol drops onto a handkerchief and breathing this will also help to loosen up the congestion. Keep warm and out of any draughts.
Avatar f tn And for cough add some licorice roots and poppy seeds as well. Try inhaling steam as it helps with congestion. Try this recipe for the cough Grind the following herbs, each half a teaspoon and mix with three ounces molasses and then use one teaspoon in a cup of hot tea,: Skunk Cabbage, Horehound, Ceyenne Pepper, Bayberry bark and powdered Valerian root. Keep me informed of how you are doing and I hope this helps, for I may suggest a few more recipes as per your condition.
150483 tn?1212172156 That might help loosen up some of the congestion. Also do the humidifier with the vapor menthol stuff in her room. Just don't let it get too fumey. Keep her nose cleared out as best you can, which is almost impossible with a 6 month old, and just try to comfort her. she may gag and cough up some major goo, just help her clear it out with a wet wash cloth. give her some water to help wash out her mouth, too. milk makes it gooeyer, which is unfortunate.
Avatar f tn Therefore I will just try the steam inhalant. I would think hot baths would help too as well as putting the bowl in my room. Also school just let out for me anyway. May not be possible to see doctor tomorrow but my parents are definitely taking me the next day. I greatly appreciate you giving up your time thank you so much.
Avatar n tn On 7th Feb 08, after a 2 hours gym session, aggressive abdominal training, 30 minutes steam room session. Got home, just about to get in bed strike by a sudden onset of SOB, shortness of breath, condition remain unchange for 48 hours. First 48 hours condition description: Each time i try to lie down, just at the moment of going into deep sleep i stopped breathing. 702091 tn?1228423719 We've used Rhinocort in the past and it seemed to help. Continue with the humidifier, hot steam, vapo rub on chest, etc. Every little bit will help. Best of luck.
Avatar n tn The blocked nose may mean some swelling of the nasal mucosa, and one can expect such swelling to affect the eustachian tube (the ventilation tube to the ear from the upper throat) as well, and hence 'deafness' in that ear. They are reversible. And there is no room for worry. In the meanwhile, you can do some steam inhalation. An ENT can find out what exactly is wrong with the nose and ears and the neck and face nodes. You may mention the 'cold chills' to him for his thinking.
Avatar f tn I'm on Zyrtec, Singulair, Benadryl, Advair, Flonase, Astelin, Mucinex and STILL have drainage and chest/nasal congestion. Feeling rundown and tired and want to get over this. This is the second time I've been through somethine like this in 2011. Any advice would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn They have finally broke the floor up and removed the contaminated soil under the slab but I can't go back to work because I am still suffering from congestion and I am unable to walk a lot from the pain in my leg. My question is, has anyone else been exposed to anything like this and how did they find a doctor that could treat them.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, viral infections do not respond to antibiotics. For the congestion do steam inhalations. To do a steam inhalation, boil up a kettleful of water and pour this into a bowl (taking care not to get scalded). Put some Vick, or olbas oil, or any other menthol oil that you like into the hot water. Bend your head over the bowl of water and cover your head and the bowl with a towel. Breathe in the steam through your nose and out through your mouth.
Avatar n tn Though the cool mist will help with sinuses/nose, the steamy bathroom will help with congestion/chest. She should be better in a few days.
Avatar f tn I got him up went in the bathroom turned the hot water on and we sat in there for the steam. He fell asleep on my chest so we went in the living room and he started the wet chocking not being able to breathe thing again. This kept going on and on. He was hungry so I fed him and when I was burping him he completely stopped breathing and his face was pure panic. So I took him to the emergency room where they said he has reflux and to go to his normal doctor.
Avatar n tn So I took my DD to the docotr yesterday due to severe chest congestion, she also has a very runny nose and a fever. Well he did a nose swab on her because he thinks she might have RSV. HAs anybody out there experienced with any of thier children or know of somebody who has. I am still waiting for the docotr to call with the results but she seems to be getting worse. I looked some onfo on the internet but you guys on here are so informative so I thought I would ask.
Avatar dr m tn Every time you get a cold, notice how it usually starts in the throat with a tickle, a scratch, or a slight cough. It then progresses into chest congestion or travels up into the ears and the sinuses. You’ll have a low grade fever, mild chills, and a runny nose. Even if you start out with a runny nose, eventually, you’ll have throat symptoms later on. Sounds like a classic cold, right?
1278876 tn?1304911919 I've been using the suction bulb on her nose and i take her into the bathroom every night before bed to steam and suction out as much as i can before we go to bed. She isnt wheezing that i can hear if i put her chest to my ear. Is there anything else i can do to help her congestion? She gets all stuffy and wakes herself up when she's napping and sleeping at night when her nose gets really bad. She has her two week appt on Weds.
Avatar m tn It is similar in feeling to when you are starting to get a chest cold sauna (only I have had this feeling for the last five months) or when you are in a sauna/steam room (which I have not been in years) . It started after using a humidifier regularly in the winter (wife and I were living in a basement suite which was musty too). We have since move into our newly built home and we don’t use the humidifier at all… and yet the symptoms persists.
