chest congestion on newborns

I have severe chest congestion. This has been going on for about 3 months. It's strange because I will have constant congestion and cough one day and the next day I will be almost clear. I know that if I have congestion one day the next day I will not. I plan my days accordingly. My dr. has put me on antiboitics and presidone twice in the last 3 months, I've had a chest x-ray last week, shows nothing. I have had allergies all my life.

I had similar issues with Lexi. Her pediatrician said its normal to hear that congestion in their chests as newborns and infants and didn't bat and eyelash. She's ten months old now and still has it. she has allergies so she does take liquid zyrtec now, but I haven't noticed a difference. As for the constipation, we gave Lexi one ounce of prune juice and one half of a pediatric glycerine suppository.

What it feels like is the chronic post nasal drip I have has caused congestion in my upper chest. However, the weird part is, I really have no cough, and the occasional cough has never brought anything up. In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better.

For about a year now I have had a cough and chest congestion, my doctor has switched my asthma medications several times thinking that might be the reason for my cough and congestion, she's tried many different types of allery medications, I have been to the pulmonologist, had a chest x-ray and nothing was found, but the cough and congestion I still have.

I had my son on the 5th and he sleeps about 6 hours at night now. But he needs to be either swaddled or wrapped in his favorite blanket. We also need to hold him until be falls asleep or he will scream bloody murder until we pick him up. What I do to calm my little one is I lay down on the couch and put him on top of me with his head on my chest, and rub his back.He's out within minutes.

I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. We have newborns in the NICU and the last thing I want to do is get them ill. I have stayed away throughout the week not able to differentiate my allergy symptoms from a cold or flu. When I am at the medical offices I have had a normal temp.

I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. I just moved to Denver from Chicago. Right before we left, I could tell I had a sinus infection, as I have a long history of sinus issues. I also have stomach issues, history of a couple ulcers. A couple of ENT's have told me I have obvious signs of GERD, though I don't often have indigestion, sometimes I can taste acid in the morning. Anyway, I saw a doc when I arrived in Denver and she gave me Biaxin for the sinus infection. Only it doesn't seem to have cleared up.

My question is the the last 3 months as I am laying down for a while I get a gurggle feeling in my chest and it almost feels like congestion so I make a cough to see if that would help and I have no congestion at all and the cough doesnt help. When I stand for a minute is when it will go away. Can you please tell me what this means or if I should go get a 2nd opinion??? My mom has had really bad chest congestion and coughing for about 3 weeks now. She also has some chest tightness. She sounded terrible today when I called her. After eating certain foods I get quite a bit of mucus build-up in my lungs and find myself coughing a lot after meals. I'm 17 years old and don't think this is due to acid reflux as I don't have any other symptoms and am quite young. I notice it immediately after I finish eating (not sure if it actually starts during eating as I'm not really focused on how my chest feels while eating). Does anyone have any idea of what this may be?
