A bad gastric reflux can cause sinus like symptoms and chest congestions which are worst in the morning as that is the time the reflux is worst. For last 1 1/2 weeks my chest has a pain in the center. Notice in the morning after laying down and when I swallow I feel pain. I had a cold/flu approx. 6 weeks ago and was able to function after about 2 days. However, I have had a persistent cough that never seem to go away. Its not all the time once I am up in the morning it eleveates for the most part but annoying. I have recently started on ibuprophen and it helps a little. I do not feel like I have congestion.
What it feels like is the chronic post nasal drip I have has caused congestion in my upper chest. However, the weird part is, I really have no cough, and the occasional cough has never brought anything up. In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better.
For about a year now I have had a cough and chest congestion, my doctor has switched my asthma medications several times thinking that might be the reason for my cough and congestion, she's tried many different types of allery medications, I have been to the pulmonologist, had a chest x-ray and nothing was found, but the cough and congestion I still have.
I have severe chest congestion. This has been going on for about 3 months. It's strange because I will have constant congestion and cough one day and the next day I will be almost clear. I know that if I have congestion one day the next day I will not. I plan my days accordingly. My dr. has put me on antiboitics and presidone twice in the last 3 months, I've had a chest x-ray last week, shows nothing. I have had allergies all my life.
I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. Help?
Can Bronchiectasis result after just one run in with acute bronchitis that lasted about 3 weeks?
I read that it can occur after recurrent infections, but I only had one...acute bronchitis.
I ask this because after being diagnosed with acute bronchitis 5 weeks ago and having it for 3 weeks, my cough got MUCH MUCH better, but I still can hear/feel the "chest congestion" and purposefully cough to attempt to get rid of the phlegm in my lungs/chest.
t think coughing and chest congestion is part of it. It is cold and flu season so maybe you have a cold? I could be wrong though.
t anything painful, just uncomfortable, and I assumed that I was developing some congestion due to a cold. 2 weeks later, I still have the pressure in my chest, but I never developed a cough or fever or anything else that I would associate with a common sickness. It seems to get worse when I do have to walk up stairs or exert myself, but it never goes away even when I have been resting for several hours. Felt like typical coughing but it started getting bad on Monday, the eighth. Tuesday morning i started coughing up blood, looked clotted.. it was darker. Well, a week later, today i still am coughing up blood in the morning. It actually has had some bright, fresh, blood in it but it isn't in that big of quantities. It's the sixteenth and i've been wheezy since the eighth. I no longer have a family doctor and lost my job over three months ago now.. Should i go to emergency??

Hi ladies, iv been in bedrest since Tuesday due to bleeding, but on Wednesday morning I caught a cold/flu. Symptoms range from sore throat, congestion (even though congestion I had from day 1) sore body now and then and creating a cough now too. That irritating dry one. Is it dangerous for my baby? I'm trying so hard to keep my immune system up but baby is taking all my nutrients and energy. I'm so scared this will harm him/her. I'm 11w3d.
Symptoms of my cold were runny nose, cough and congestion. Every morning I would spit out green phlegm and afterwards it would be clear. So on 03/16 everything cleared out, no longer had any cold symptoms; although I was left with a cough, somewhat tight chest and short breath. There's no mucus, it's a dry cough and any mucus I spit out or blow out is clear. Is it acute bronchitis or should I visit the doctor?
I also found soaking a cloth in hot water and putting it on my chest really helps, or either making a hot mustard paste compress for my chest or a hot mustard foot soak really helps the sinuses/chest congestion.
Im 8wks 5dys and the last two days I've had terrible nasal congestion it's so irritating idk what to do. Is there anything I can take or will breath right strips be ok to use?

Could you tell me please why sinus head pains are worse in the morning. I have had blocked nose, catarrh, & congestion along with head pains. The remaining symptoms are head pains which are worse on waking in the morning, I have seen my GP who gave me an examination & said my chest was clear, I revisited the GP I was given Carbocisteine 375mg which helped the catarrh to disperse, I mentioned the head pains on both occasions but no comment was made.
I have cold last week and half. I was given steroid due to heavy congestion. It seems it did work well. Suddenly, I traced blood with my cough. Quite frankly it was huge. It did happen not only for this time. It is now 5th time in my forty years of age. It seems to me this time is bad. Blood is mixed with mucous and sometime it is completely red. It continues only morning half/hour and rest of the day almost fine.
My question is the the last 3 months as I am laying down for a while I get a gurggle feeling in my chest and it almost feels like congestion so I make a cough to see if that would help and I have no congestion at all and the cough doesnt help. When I stand for a minute is when it will go away.
Can you please tell me what this means or if I should go get a 2nd opinion??? Heart related issues runs on my mother side of the family and just about everyone has an issue.
