422924 tn?1331764319 for allergies. also when i got my chest xray no signs of emphysema.
Avatar f tn What it feels like is the chronic post nasal drip I have has caused congestion in my upper chest. However, the weird part is, I really have no cough, and the occasional cough has never brought anything up. In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better.
Avatar m tn No further testing is needed unless the condition is recurrent. In that case, congestion may be caused by blockage to normal drainage by structures such as a nasal polyp, which may require surgical resection. If the symptoms occur at a particular time of the year, seasonal allergies are the possible cause, and testing for specific allergies may be indicated. For normal cases, regularly removing the offending irritant with saline rinses is the most beneficial intervention.
Avatar f tn I have severe chest congestion. This has been going on for about 3 months. It's strange because I will have constant congestion and cough one day and the next day I will be almost clear. I know that if I have congestion one day the next day I will not. I plan my days accordingly. My dr. has put me on antiboitics and presidone twice in the last 3 months, I've had a chest x-ray last week, shows nothing. I have had allergies all my life.
Avatar m tn Went to bed after walking on the treadmill & lifting some weights. I've been trying to eat better & walk on the treadmill. The weight lifting was only a one time thing that was the night before. I'm a single dad of a 5yr old & it scared me when I couldn't catch my breath and my chest felt pressure and just an odd feeling, so I called my mom to come over at 4am. She checked all my vital signs & they seem fine.
Avatar m tn t had bad allergies yet this spring. So would you say allergies caused this? STD? Or did I possibly catch a sinus infection from her? Its just too much of a coincidence I got all this a day after the sex, even though it seems like just a sinus infection.
Avatar f tn Albuterol is used to prevent and treat wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, and coughing caused by lung diseases such as asthma. She has an infection at the moment and hopefully the course of antibiotics she is one will clear it up. If she is now asthmatic, she will have flare ups to irritants. These can be anything from sprays, smoke, the cold, the heat and a dry atmosphere, dust, dander, wool, pets etc.
Avatar m tn So, it started 2 days ago with clearly my throat, slight cough. Then it turned consistent cough and sinus pressure. Thankfully it was fall break from school so I had two days off. The first day I slept till 6 o'clock at night from falling asleep at 8 o'clock the night before. I woke up with a painful headache and sinus pressure in my face. I was congested with a mild fever, so I went on the attack.

Avatar m tn Me too I think ist allergies caused by all the aerial spraying they are doing
Avatar n tn Hi, Cough is a sudden, noisy and violent expulsion of air from the chest, caused by irritation in the air passages, or by the reflex action of a nervous or gastric disorder. Chronic and/or dry cough can be side effects of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments. Allergies and infection are common causes of cough. In response to the allergy-causing agent, people get drainage (usually clear drainage) or a "runny nose." Red, itchy eyes may accompany this cough too.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, there are many reasons for congestion in chest. If you are having difficulty in breathing and congestion then may be a asthma. Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the airway and mainly arises from allergies. Hence you have allergy in past few days; there is release of endogenous histamine which causes bronchospasm and breathlessness.
Avatar f tn If your doctors said it was NOT anaphylaxis, then I would believe them. You would also KNOW the difference between a mild allergic reaction and anaphylaxis! A warning sign of dangerous throat swelling is a very hoarse or whispered voice, or coarse sounds when breathing in air. Anaphylaxis is an EMERGENCY CONDITION that needs medical attention right away..........CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY! Symptoms develop quickly, often within seconds or minutes and MAY include any of the following symptoms.
2863077 tn?1436670789 If its just a stuffy nose there is something called pregnancy rhinitis which is just congestion caused by hormones. I've had it off and on since I was about 3 months. Sinus infections are also much more common during pregnancy. So could be any of those too!
Avatar f tn I had skin testing last week and had no increased allergies, I think I have frontal sinus inflammation and congestion .
Avatar n tn Asthma is caused by inflammation of the small tubes, called bronchi, which carry air in and out of the lungs. If you have asthma, the bronchi will be inflamed and more sensitive than normal. When you come into contact with something that irritates your lungs – known as a trigger – your airways become narrow, the muscles around them tighten, and there is an increase in the production of sticky mucus (phlegm).
Avatar n tn I have had allergy problems all my life and have tried almost every medication out there (OTC and prescription) until I was prescribed Singulair which worked. But, I lost my health coverage and stopped taking it for almost a year. I was recently put back on it (about a month ago) because I have been quiet sick for over 2 months now. The doctors said it was allergies, but I'm starting to wonder because the Singulair should be working in full by now, and I'm still sick.
Avatar f tn The doctor said thats normal i have never heard of it. Any one had congestion caused by pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Also, it has caused me to sometimes clear my throat constantly. Furthermore, since this started I have had near constant nasal swelling (ie hard to breathe out of one or both nostrils). Sudafed helps a little but not completely. Sometimes I do have a sensation of shortness of breath, usually accompanying severe full nasal congestion. Just feels like my throat is inflamed when I have this feeling. I've seen my GP and pulmonologist. I've tried inhalers including ICS with labas.
