I've heard oil of oregano or eucalyptus oil, a few drops in boiling water, your head with a towel over it and you inhale, can help with phlegm.
m wondering how to discern when the cough is just a cold and when it is bronchitis or something worse. I have no history of asthma, but have had nasal allergy symptoms throughout my life. My questions are (1) Should I be concerned about developing another cold so soon after the last one? (2) Could I be having episodes of bronchitis and is there a potential for long term adverse effects from this?

I have had a chest, sinus cold going on four weeks now with intermittent laryngitis. I have been on a course of Levaquin 2 weeks ago and am still sick. Prior to this cold I had another cold and was on a Z pac, can't seem to get any better... Never had a fever, just productive cough raising green phlegm.. Should I be working about my immune system at this point?
just try to go to the dr if it gets worse my chest was itchy and hard to breath but i also had a cough and it was bronchitis but sounds so far you could maybe just have a cold, and like others said hat of some sort would help with ears i think especially with the wind and idk where you are but its cold and windy where im at.
Thanks for your response. I am super concerned! We see the Pediatrician on Friday. This week, on the advice from her Dr., we have reduced her puffers to one puff, once a day. She seems to be getting a dry cough and runny nose, but it's hard to tell if it's just a cold or not, as my five year old also has a cough and cold. I'm just holding out until Friday until we can hopefully start getting some answers!
Im asthmatic, Getting over a heavy cold. Im left with that irritating "smokers cough" (i dont smoke, the real dirty chesty kind!) Nothing settling it, and now it brings a Sharp pain in my chest plate (under breasts- but feels like Its IN them) and my 12w1d pregnant belly is Going tight and hurting. Im aware this is normal with all extra movement when coughs occur.. but is it harming my baby?
to be sure, but you could even have viral bronchitis which would cause the pain in your chest, or the lingering of a cold along with mild heartburn.
Hi, I came down with a cold around January 20, 2014. That week I treated my cold (mild symptoms) with Day-quill and NyQuil. However, before the week was over, I started to experience coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath. I also have asthma, and I’ve had asthmatic bronchitis before, so it started to feel familiar. The following week, I was consistently short of breath. I went to a walk-in clinic after work (January 28).
No active pulmonary lesions
No active pul. Tbc & Pneumonia
No abnormal Mass lesions (Lung cancer, abscess etc)
No bony abnormalities
** But doctor told mild bronchitis is present in x-ray report, expected for smoker and nothing to worry about this and will go as you stopped smoking.

i dont smoke,can chronic bronchitis be treated locally?because i have taken so much antibiotics,chemicals and it has not worked.

What you describe sounds serious; maybe a “chest cold” or bronchitis or maybe even pneumonia. At this point you should have a Chest X-ray, examination of the mucous you are coughing-up and a blood count. It sounds like your doctor has done his best to cure your illness but the infection has not responded to the antibiotics and you are no better. I believe it might be a good time for you to see another doctor for a second opinion.
Is bronchitis is T.B? I have study a article in internet stating this fact please clear this to me.
The first day it started I had severe burning in my chest and was given the same GI Cocktail. the next day I had cold symptoms then Bronchitis. this lasted for two weeks. This past weekend I had more buring in the chest and throat and vomited acid. I went to the emergency room and took the other GI cocktail, which relieved it for about an hour. today I woke up with the same burning but now have swollen glands like I would with a cold. Is this all related?
My cough is usually triggered and it hurts my chest to breath. My muscles in my chest and back became so tense last night that I decided to soak in a warm bath. To my surprise, this increased my shortness of breath to a level that I felt some panic. My breathing was as if I were drowning and I was gasping for air. Once I was able to get myself to my feet, I turned a small portable fan on with the air blowing on my face.
