chest cold relief

I caught a cold a couple weeks ago and I called my doctor about chest congestion. My doctor said mucinex was fine. I didn't want to take anything if I didn't have to but I got desperate. I was just too miserable. I don't know if it's the same kind of mucus for you but I hope it gets better!

My doctor told me I can take robitussin DM for my cold. Is robitussin cough+Chest congestion DM the same thing?

Has anyone had a cold? I have a stuffy nose and sneezing all the time. what to do?

I don't know what you are allowed to take when you are pregnant, pharmaceutical or otherwise... but I'd suggest making sure you eat well, stay hydrated. Maybe run a hot shower for a while then go outside in the cold (like when babies have croup---gives some relief). I've heard oil of oregano or eucalyptus oil, a few drops in boiling water, your head with a towel over it and you inhale, can help with phlegm.

i have had a backache at the bottom of my back for about 7 days and it is horrible it will go as soon as i get up then it will be there about an hour after bein up and since yestoday i have had a really bad cold i am ashmatic sooo it is hard to breath and all i do is cough cought cough and green flem comes up help me and a really runny nose and i am wising in my chest

Hi Selma... The exercise I do for my neck is slowly putting my chin to my chest and leave it there for a few seconds and also move my head from side to side. I was told not to use heat on my neck only use a cold pack. I know I have cervical stenosis and the pain that I had from it before surgery was manageable but now it's worse. I work in retail and have to stand and bend down a lot. My coworkers are great though, they don't make me lift anything heavy or climb ladders.

Have you tried warm milk? Cold milk works for some too.

i have had a cold for seven weeks. started with chest congestion and cough then moved to sinuses. lots of pressure in cheek bones and behind eyes. lots of fluid thru coughing and nose, was green now is clear. occassional ear clogging as well. took augment during fourth week for ten days. no relief of symptoms. never had a cold last more than a few days ever. i am normal healthy 34 yr old woman...now what?

Finally told my parent that I'm expecting and they actually handle it very well. My dad and my mom are so happy. So glad I got it off my chest and 2 more days till I'm 21.

ve described here, and insist on having a chest exam. Green mucus can be a sign of infection. Chest pain should never be ignored, and should definitely be looked at by a physician in order to rule out any thing serious. Years ago, I had symptoms much like yours, but I chose to skip the doctors visit and stay home. It turned out that I had bronchitis, then developed pneumonia.

ve ever had. It almost feels like a rock is in my chest and throat making it quite painful and the Quick-Eze seem to give little relief now. Is there anything else I can try to help soothe it? Well, the head cold has now moved into my chest. I've been sleeping in a semi-sitting position so as to avoid too much drainage into my lungs. I went to the doc at the walk-in clinic on Saturday and all they could give me was a z-pac and told me to take both benadryl and sudafed at the same time (so bubs hasn't been as active lately, I'm sure he is just as dopped up as I am). It is already hard to breath when your this far along and now I feel like my lung capicity is almost nil.

I also found soaking a cloth in hot water and putting it on my chest really helps, or either making a hot mustard paste compress for my chest or a hot mustard foot soak really helps the sinuses/chest congestion.

Intestine laid on my diaphragm for years before it was caught, my question is. What treatment can be given to me to stop the pain in cold and hot weather. Doctors here seem not to know what to do.

Stripping, swimming and having and ac on and fan blowing on me is doing nothing.. I even do cold compresses on the back of my neck and chest and it doesnt help... Anyone have this issue?

Well, no throat culture, chest x ray or blood test has been done so far. Just auscultation of the back/chest and examination of throat. Im not exactly sure about any pollen or weather changes, has been fairly summer like weather - sunny. The inhalers are Ventolin and Advair. Im trying to be patient, but at the same time, its hard not be worried/concerned. Overall, it now has been 15 days, but I have had a decrease in mucous (just a bit in the mornings, not colored, just cloudy).

So I've had this bad head cold for like 3 days.. I can't breathe through my nose. Sleeping has become a struggle and this cold weather doesn't help at all. Chapped lips and can't breathe! Ahh Is there anything I can do to relief this sinus pressure??

Wow this has been a trying couple weeks. It started a couple weeks ago with some heartburn, that wouldn't go away. Now most of the day I have a sharp pain in my left shoulder blade and burning/random pains in my left chest. I've been to the doctor, been to the ER, 3 ekgs, chest x-rays and blood work, and they tell me its not my heart. It doesn't seem to be triggered by food, its pretty constant. I also sometimes feel bloated, kind of warm in my stomach.
